This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 115 West 35th Street, Virginia Beach, Va., this 3rd day of September, 1930, in accordance with request made by self, through his brother - Mr. [311].

[Edgar Cayce; Mrs. Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno. L. B. Cayce.]

Time of Reading 4:00 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. …, Alabama. (Physical Suggestion)

  1. EC: We have the body here, [2383]. Now, we find conditions as exist physically with this body, [2383], viewed from different aspects would be considered due to the varied conditions as go to make up INFLUENCES in the experience of the entity as a whole, but viewed from the physical viewpoint we find there are disorders that are disturbing to the blood supply, to the organs of elimination and assimilation, the tendency of an excess of the white blood, the tendency towards that of the low temperature that comes from the creation of not ONLY the inflammation as arises in the blood stream itself but from the attempt of the system to meet the needs of same. Hence the reduction in the vitality of the body, the tendency towards sleeplessness, tiredness, the inflammation as is seen through lungs, bronchi - these are but the effects AND results of the disorders as have for sometime back existed in the lymph and emunctories of the system, or coming from infectious forces in this portion of system produced first that of a catarrhal condition in the throat. With the cold, congestion, flu germ - these taking on the form of inflammation through the pleura, has brought about this debilitation, this weakening so.

  2. In the considering of that as may be administered for the benefits, and for the correction of conditions in the physical forces of the body, the CHARACTER of disturbance and the basis of the conditions must be considered, as well as that that has been produced in the system as an effect in choking of cells, in the tendency of the cough, in the tendency of the low fever at given periods when vitality is low.

  3. Then, to meet the needs, we will find that most all precautions must be taken by the body. Not so much precautions as being afraid to do this, that, or the other, but preferably in precautions that, “In DOING this, or that, I am sure this result will be the OUTCOME of the conditions”.

  4. In the beginning, then, we would apply across the solar plexus center those of the vibrations as will be found in the Radium Appliance - Double X in strength.

  5. We will also use those of an inhalant that is from BRANDY - apple brandy. This kept in an oaken charred container, and where the evaporation from same will be above the ordinary - kept in sufficiently large container as to form space above the liquid and the container - or using a gallon and a half or two gallon container, have a quart or half gallon in container. This kept corked tight, yet is prepared that the fumes or evaporations - each evening, just before retiring - each morning as the body arises and is ready for its morning labors or exercises - may be inhaled deep into the lungs, THROUGH the mouth, rather than through nostril.

  6. We would also prepare as an inhalant these properties: In this manner would we prepare them: Take as the carrier, that of the OIL of Pine - or of that of thinned Canadian Balsam, cut with PURE - but RAW - turpentine - one ounce. This as to the proportion. It may be raised or lowered, see? To one OUNCE of this, add:

Eucalyptol, Oil of…40 minims, Creosote, Rectified…20 minims, Rectified Oil of Turp…10 minims, Balsam of Tolu, or Tolu in solution preferably…1/4 ounce, Benzoin (colored)…40 minims.

Stir or shake well together, but keep tightly corked. When ready for use, put same in that as a croup cup - or as in water that may be heated under same, so that the fumes will come off in the vapor, see? as boiled in same. This we would use at least twice each day, morning and evening - but at least an hour or hour and a half’s difference in time between that and that inhaled in the lungs. THIS should be inhaled, PREFERABLY, through the nostril - though not objectionable to inhale into the lungs also. This is an antiseptic, ALSO a healer.

  1. In the expectorant as will be used, prepare as in this manner: First take one ounce of wild cherry bark, add to four ounces of distilled water. Reduce by slow simmering to one-half the quantity - two liquid ounces. Set this aside to cool. Then take horehound one ounce, to four ounces of distilled water. Reduce THIS by slow boiling to one-half the quantity. Then dissolve one-half ounce of crystal rock candy, or make into a syrup - not simple syrup, but that that has been crystallized in the purest of rock candy, CUTTING same - in the dissolving in water - with that of one-half ounce of eighty-five percent alcohol. Add THIS to that of the horehound solution. Add then to that of the wild cherry solution, this:

Oil of Sassafras…20 minims, Tincture of Stillingia…1/4 ounce, Syrup of, or Essence of Wild Ginseng…20 minims.

Then pour the two solutions together. The dose as an expectorant will be half a teaspoonful at a time. This may be taken whenever there is the cough, or the TENDENCY to cough, see?

  1. The foods will be quantities - or of meats, those of calves’ liver, occasionally hog tripe - but when same is eaten, GRIND same very fine and include the melts with same, making same into a loaf or pudding, when the hog tripe and melt is eaten. Calves’ liver should not be fried. No greases shall be taken. Beware of those things that create acids in the system, for with the building up of blood supply and resistance there must be kept an alkalin reaction throughout the system. Milk and eggs may be stirred together, but do not use the white of the egg - either as an adornment or as on the top, But add sufficient spirits frumenti to same as to cook egg before the milk is added. This should preferably be of the raw milk, and that with the animal heat in same, and do not cool same with ice in or outside before drinking. Use much of vegetables that grow ABOVE the ground; not too many of those that grow below the ground.

  2. Keep the feet WARM, and keep OUT of drafts. Keep on working. Get WELL! We are through.
