This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 115 West 35th Street, Virginia Beach, Va., this 23rd day of July, 1930, in accordance with request made by self - Miss [243].

1. EC: Yes, we have the entity here, and those relations with the universe and universal forces, as are latent and exhibited in the present entity.

2. In entering, we find, astrologically, the entity coming under the influence of Mercury, Mars, Jupiter, Venus, and Neptune. These, as we find, have builded, and have influenced the entity, in the present experience. Also we find urges as respecting the experiences as related to innate urges, and that as has been BUILDED in the present entity.

3. Aside: Let not this be confusing, as to innate urges and that as is builded in the present experience, for the application of will, and of innate urge through planetary influences, is exercised in this entity as we would find it in few.

4. In the experience, then, we find these as builded IRRESPECTIVE of will, and those that have been builded as respecting the APPLICATION of will’s influence; for WILL is that developing factor with which an entity chooses or builds that freedom, or that of being free, knowing the truth as is applicable in the experience, and in the various experiences as has been builded; for that builded must be met, whether in thought or in deed; for thoughts are deeds, and their current run is through the whole of the influence in an ENTITY’S experience. Hence, as was given, “He that hateth his brother has committed as great a sin as he that slayeth a man,” for the deed is as of an accomplishment in the mental being, which is the builder for every entity.

5. Much has been met, much as been BUILDED by the entity in the present experience. Much has been experienced by the entity in the various spheres through which the entity has passed.

6. In that builded, we find one of high, ennobling ideas and ideals; often tempered in Mars, through wrath, that has brought does bring, will bring, many of the experiences that have been experienced in the building of the entity’s inner being to the action within the life.

7. In those influences in Jupiter, finds for the bigness of the entity’s vision, the broadness of the good or bad that may be wielded in the influence of those whom the entity contacts from time to time, or period to period, or experience to experience.

8. In those influences seen in those of Neptune, brings for those of that as is of the MYSTERY in the experiences of the entity; the associations in many peculiar circumstances and conditions; the conditions and experiences, and influences, as bring many conditions as, by others, would be misunderstood (and there BE minds that would misunderstand, rather than know the truth).

9. In the experiences there has been INNATELY built, the fear of evil in the life, the fear of those that would bring condemnation on those who are in power, and oft is the entity too GOOD to others for its own good! Through the attempt innate to build that which would be the releasing of those experiences which have been had by the entity.

In those influences seen in Neptune, also brings that water - large BODIES of water - the entity will gain most through the experience, has gained and will gain, through sojourn near, or passing over, large bodies of water, and SALT water is preferable; for in the experiences will be seen, fresh hasn’t ALWAYS meant for living water.

11. In those as builded innately, we find:

One that is in that position of making friends easily, and just as easily losing same; yet there are friendships made that make for the better understanding in the experience, and in those of VENUS forces comes the love that is INNATE in the experience of the entity. Through all the vicissitudes of life this remaineth, for the entity has gained much that makes for that as was given - “There is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother,” and “he that is just kind to the least of these, my little ones, is greater than he that hath taken a mighty city.” These building, these kept within the consciousness of the entity, will build to that Christ consciousness as makes all free; for in Him is the life, and He is the light that shineth into the dark places, even to the recesses of that of His own consciousness that makes for that which casteth out fear; (for being afraid is the first consciousness of sin’s entering in, for he that is made afraid has lost consciousness of self’s own heritage with the Son; for we are heirs through Him to that Kingdom that is beyond all that that would make afraid, or that would cause a doubt in the heart of any. Through the recesses of the heart, then, search out that that would make afraid, casting out fear, and HE alone may guide.)

13. In the appearances in the earth’s plane, and the influences these have had upon the entity in the present - for these are builded also:

14. In the one before this we find in the land of nativity, in that place known as Fort Dearborn. The entity resided there among those people who were both of the French and the native, and then in the name Isica. The entity was with that one who stormed the fort, and attempting to bring succor and aid from the South - with Bainbridge, [294], then, the companion - went into the wilderness, and losing the LIFE in the ICE. Hence those conditions as have to do with those places in those lands where ice and snow are found, are fearful to the entity - especially has there ever been a dread about waters of expanse, especially of turbid waters; yet they have a fascination for the entity beyond compare. In the experience the entity gained and lost, for while the companionship was BEAUTIFUL - not always moral. In this the entity finds in the present experience, those associations, those relations as bring the understanding that virtue, truth, morality, are not only their OWN reward, but are as jewels built in the experiences of each entity.

15. In the one before this we find in that land now known as England, and during that period when Alfred the Great was in power. The entity then was of the household of that good and bad ruler, [304], and gained through the experiences in that place known then as Lady Gondolivia. In the experience the entity gained through that of the service to others, irrespective of self’s own status or self’s own position. The thought of others builded that as, innately and manifestly in the present experience, gives the love for those who seek to know through their own experience the understanding of Truth. That’s a good one. Remember that!

16. In the one before this we find in that land known as the Persian. The entity then was among those peoples that were overrun by the nomads, and in the period the entity suffered much in the way of both MENTAL and physical, through those conditions brought about; for the entity then loved the peoples of the land, and was of their own household, yet the household was divided, and a portion with the king and a portion with Uhjltd [294], as they overran the land. In this division, the entity was torn as between two opinions, yet in the conquest, and in the taking up of the sojourn among the peoples in the South country, the entity gained; becoming then as again one of those who - to the companions of Uhjltd the entity became as a leader and RULED in the latter day with an iron heel, rather than hand, for many were those that suffered as the entity had suffered through those experiences; yet these are builded as temperamental conditions through which the entity has passed, and often passes in the present experience. These make for the easiness of grudge FORGIVEN, the easiness of wrath expressed.

17. In the one before this we find in that land known as Egyptian. In that period we find the entity was among those who came in with the rulers that overcame the land, being of the household and a sister to the one raised to the priesthood [294], and of the high priest did the entity gain and lost through that experience, for taking sides cost much to the entity’s own peace of mind; yet in the last building up, after the return, the entity, in the name It-Cit, GAINED through the latter portion of the experience, being in charge of that portion of the development turned towards the school, in which AFTERWARD became that, under many, as of the healing arts. In this experience the entity finds much in common in the present, through the various vicissitudes as respecting the activities in the present; for much in that of apparel, much in that of foods, much in that of meeting individuals of many castes, of many positions, of many understandings - these brought turmoils, and again turmoils are seen; yet will the entity find that in the ONENESS of purpose, in the sureness in WHOM one has believed, may the way be made safe, secure, and peace of mind be the greater blessing that may come to an entity, or to the soul; for knowing that the race is run in the manner as would be in keeping with the understanding of Him in whom IS life, and light, may be development of the STRENGTH attained, give the blessings to the entity in all its associations.

18. The abilities of the entity, then, lie in first conquering self, and in administering those little THINGS that make for the strength of might in many places, in many lands; for she that sitteth not in the seat of the scornful, hideth much that may be amiss in thine OWN understanding. Keep the faith as is set before thee in Him, remembering that each act, each word, each thought, is weighed in the balance.

20. (Q) How, and in what way, could entity make her life more worth while and helpful to others than at present? (A) As has been given, first conquer self; then in the little conditions as may be handed in kindnesses; for “He that ministereth unto the LEAST of these, my little ones, ministereth unto me.”

R1. 7/23/30 GD’s note: Miss [243] told us that for the past nine months she had been taking care of sick people. Although she had cared for her invalid mother for years before she died, and had nursed other members of her family, this had been the first time she had done it on a salaried basis. She had been in the millinery business since she was a very young girl, and this had been the first break from it. She was enjoying the work very much and felt that at last she was being of a service to many.

R2. 3/6/31 We heard that she had opened up a nursing home, or rest home.

R9. 5/8/37 EC wrote Mrs. [903]: “[243] has spent her whole life ministering to her mother [3776], then her father [304]. I know she will miss [304] more than the rest of the family will, for the rest have home interests and she has none now, but I guess she will expend herself on her sister [340] and husband [348], and it is well if that is what she wishes to do.”

R10. 1/25/45 She wrote after her brother [294]‘s death: “Since my mother [3776] went away, my brother [294] has been my whole life, and without him I feel so useless and dull.”

R11. 2/11/45 She wrote: “Brother [294] was really the sweetest brother, husband, father and friend that ever lived…

“I am devoted to [1523]. No one will ever know how she helped me through those last days of my brother [294]‘s illness.”

R12. 1/1/46 She wrote: “I thank God every hour of the day for sister [340]; she is so good to me.”

R13. 3/9/47 She wrote: “Next to my soul’s salvation and my loved ones, the work that you folk are doing, giving out Edgar Cayce’s work, is the thing nearest my heart. I have to work for my daily sustenance, which is as it should be, but the work there is very near and dear to me…I’m enclosing ck. for $20. I want to be a sustaining member. It is from my heart to do what I can for so great a work, as I feel it is.”

R14. 2/3/52 She wrote: “I am late getting my ck. in for member- ship. Sister [340]‘s husband, [348], hasn’t been well enough to do anything all last year, and everything has fallen on me…I am thankful I can work and meet obligations, but it has certainly kept me hustling…[340] is good to me and takes wonderful care of me, bless her. I feel sorry for her. She worries that I have so much to meet, but it is alright.”

R15. 8/26/56 She requested and was sent a copy of her Life Rdg. 243-10.

R16. 7/20/57 P.M. She died in a hospital, following surgery. GD wired her sister, Mrs [340]: “God’s other door had again opened to a great soul.”

R17. 8/7/57 Sister [340] wrote: “[243] was my best friend, and what a sister! She was truly a great soul.”
