This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at the David E. Kahn home, 44 West 77th Street., Apt. 14-W, New York City, this 20th day of October, 1935, in accordance with request made by the self - Miss [243], Active Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.
[Edgar Cayce; Gertrude Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno. James R. Ashley and Arthur R. Szumski.]
Time of Reading 12:10 to 12:20 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. …, Tenn. (Physical Suggestion)
-
EC: Yes, we have the body here; this we have had before.
-
As we find, conditions are not so favorable for this entity, this body, in the present, for its continuation in some activities.
-
For those things that have been administered at times by self for the relief have TURNED, as it were, and are DEMANDING of the physical organism recognition of those things produced in the body, in the manner in which the circulation has been, is being disturbed between the heart’s activity and the lungs AND the liver.
-
Hence that trembly, shaky feeling that comes over the body; that weakness which occurs at times - these are the results of the conditions in the system.
-
As we find, these would be the means and the manner to enable the body to overcome these conditions:
-
Beware of too much ammonia and ammonia products. For these are becoming hindrances, as indicated, to the activities of the MUSCULAR forces in the aorta arteries to the body.
-
These, then, are those that we would apply:
-
For each OTHER day we would have a RELAXING of the body OSTEOPATHICALLY, particularly in the 4th, 5th, 3rd and 2nd dorsal centers; coordinating the hypogastric and pneumo- gastric plexus with that relaxation created at such treatments.
-
Do this for periods of three to four weeks, then rest a period.
-
In the meantime (during the rest period), we would take internally these properties that would act upon the activities of the system as related to the circulatory forces of the body. Prepare these in a tonic, and as a stimulus:
-
To 1 gallon of rain water or distilled water, add:
Wild Cherry Bark…1 ounce, Sarsaparilla Root…1 ounce, Elder Flower…2 ounces, Dogwood Bark (not the outer bark, but just that between the outer and the pulp, you see)…1/2 ounce, Cinchona Bark…1/2 ounce.
-
Reduce by slow boiling to 1/2 the quantity, or 1 pint.
-
Strain while it is warm and add 1 dram of Balsam of Tolu cut in 2 ounces of pure GRAIN alcohol.
-
Shake this together before the dose is taken, which would be 1/2 teaspoonful 4 times each day, AFTER the meals and before retiring. But eat the meals at REGULAR periods.
-
Ready for questions.
-
(Q) Am I keeping eliminations sufficiently? (A) Hardly. Well that occasionally, especially with the use of the properties indicated - as well as with the poisons that have been the natural accumulations in the system - to use high enemas or colonic irrigations. Once a week is not too often. It is necessary that these poisons be eliminated.
-
(Q) What caused the intense pain in left side of abdomen and the soreness there last Sunday night? (A) That as indicated; the connection between the circulation from lungs, heart, liver, by congestion produced through the use of elements that have been as sedatives to the system.
-
(Q) Why am I losing wight so fast? (A) This is through the same influences, or nervous forces and lack of proper assimilation. This tonic, with those conditions as indicated by the relaxing of those centers in the specific areas given, should overcome these.
-
Do that.
-
We are through for the present.

R1. 12/21/35 Father [304]‘s letter: “I don’t know whether [243] has written you or not for a rdg. She has started treatments. I don’t know how many she has taken, but several, four or five or possibly more [from Sunora L. Whiteside, D.O.], but she still complains and I know she is not just right. I don’t know whether she is getting her treatments properly or not, and about her diet, I feel that she is misjudging the last rdg. in the point of her diet, but I don’t dare say so to her now, and it might be that I am wrong. One clause in the former rdg., I think it referred to what she was taking [as medicine] rather than what she was eating.”
R2. 12/28/35 She obtained Ck. Physical Rdg. 243-21.
Background
Background
B1. 8/9/35 She obtained Ck. Physical Rdg. 243-19 for broken wrist.
B2. 10/17/35 Sister [340] wrote: “[243] doesn’t seem to be very well. Had quite a spell with her heart yesterday. Said she had never had anything like it before; but it was bad enough to frighten her considerably. Of course I didn’t know anything about it until she came home from work at the usual time. She went to work this morning, and said she felt pretty well. However, she wrote to you last night for a rdg. She hasn’t felt really well since she broke her arm - and has lost a good deal of flesh.”
