This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 115 West 35th Street, Virginia Beach, Va., this 1st day of April, 1930, in accordance with request made by self - Mr. [244].

Time of Reading 4:40 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. …, Ky. (Physical Suggestion)

1. EC: Yes, we have the body here - this we have had before.

2. Now, the conditions are NOT so good as when we last had the body, for the eliminations are so poor and have become - and have been made to be - so accentuated through the alimentary canal ONLY, that the drosses as accumulate in system from the condition in the lung, in the intestinal system, where lesions have existed, cause distress to the body.

3. The body should take the time to at least get a nearer NORMAL balance in its eliminations! These, as we find, may be best had through those of the fume baths, with oil and with that effect of the salts; followed, at least twice each week, by the colonic irrigation and the ultra-violet rays, with the osteopathic manipulations to keep same going properly in system.

R1. 4/10/30 He wrote: “I thank you many times for doing this reading for me… I sure have been having a time with my throat and lungs, thick, heavy spittle coming in throat all the time, with a cough some better the last few days. Get pretty blue sometimes.”

R2. 4/30/30 EC urged him to come to Cayce Hospital where he could get all of the treatment followed: “You are going to wait so long, I’m afraid, and let this get such a hold on you, it’s going to be hard to do anything.”

R3. 5/18/30 He wrote: “Dr. Caudle has insisted on me going to your hospital for a while. I thought at the time I would have been there several days ago. Saturday last I had a spell that put me to bed. Since then I haven’t been able to get around to do but little. Yet I have been to the shop every day, looking on mostly. Have been carrying out to some extent the rdg., not in full. Sometime pretty soon I feel like I am coming to see you and take the treatment you can give me. It’s difficult for me and my son to get away from the business at the same time, and he travels a lot.”

R4. 9/20/30 He wrote: “The rdg. is being carried out only in part. However, I have been helped quite a lot by getting a part of the treatment. My doctor thinks the thing for me to do is to go there and have them treat me in the hospital, which I am looking forward to in the near future.” [GD’s note: He never did come to the Cayce Hospital.]

R5. 9/29/38 He referred his daughter for 1692-1.

R6. 10/13/38 Daughter [1692] wrote: “Papa [244] is in the Baptist Hospital in Memphis, Tenn., Room E-7, for an operation. He has been there since Sunday under treatment for heart, and getting him in condition. We think Dr. T. D. Moore will operate Monday, with electric needle. We will be with him. Mama [3773] not able to go. Sister there now.”

R7. 10/21/38 EC wrote Mr. [244]: “I hope you are feeling a great deal better and will soon be back in your place among your friends and loved ones. The manner of life you have lived will all be in your favor. Of course, I don’t have to remind you as to where to look for help and strength, for it is in Him we live and move and have our being. All healing of any nature must come from Him. We as individuals are merely instruments using or abusing His privileges that He entrusts to us.”

R8. 11/29/38 Niece [844]‘s letter: “Uncle [244] is doing real well and has been back at home about a week. The same operation his brother, Uncle […] had.” [GD’s note: His brother’s condition was with the kidneys - “enlarged gland on neck of bladder - urine bad.” His brother died in 10/3/27 following a second operation.]

R9. 12/1/38 Niece [340] wrote: “[348] and I went over to see Uncle [244] the week before Thanksgiving. He looked dreadful then, so pale and weak, and breathed so badly. Seemed mighty glad to see us. The folks said he had been so blue all day. We only stayed about an hour. Uncle [244] talked a good deal about you, said how he would like to see you and have a long talk with you. They had a trained nurse with him then - don’t know whether she is still there or not.”

R10. 1/1/39 Niece [340]‘s letter: “Am sure Uncle [244] and family spent a very lonely Christmas. I heard indirectly that the shock of Aunt [3773]‘s death put Uncle [244] and [1692] in bed, but haven’t heard anything since, so hope they are getting along alright.”

R11. 1/28/41 Mr. [244] wrote: “We are all doing very well, I reckon, yet we manage to keep all the doctors busy. So many deaths here the last six months. My time is short, I know. The children are all good to me.”

R12. 5/27/42 His son wired: “Papa [244] died 4:45 this afternoon.”

B2. 3/26/30 He wrote: “I have been troubled with a thick mucus coming in my throat for about two years or more, and have suffered with neuritis in my shoulders about two years or more. My throat is very red and much inflamed. I have never been able to wear my teeth on account of the mucus coming in my mouth in such quantities, continually spitting and coughing. Dr. Caudle said to me ‘I just can’t say the cause of this trouble and I don’t feel like giving something unless I know what it is for.’ He is anxious to know why it is I am having this trouble.”
