Protestant) This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at Hotel McAlpin, New York City, this 7th day of March, 1921, via Mr. [257].

1. EC: Yes, here we have the body here. We have had it before. [He had previously secured readings of which we have no copies.]

2. There are some changes in this body since last we had it. The body in itself is very good. The action and functioning of the organs are very good. There are some abnormal conditions in the way of the distribution of the blood hemoglobin (that is the hemoglobin in the blood, you see) to the rebuilding forces, especially in the lymphatic circulation in the secretions carried on by the larger organs, that is the liver and the kidneys. Too much is taken up by the lymph to be thrown off through the respiratory organs or the secretions; so there are at times produced in the lymph too much of the salacilic [salicylic] to be discharged without causing irritation to the cuticle. Much of this is caused by the diet, or lack of change from time to time of diet carrying change to the system. Should we add to the system (that is to the present condition that we have here of [2483] properties carrying in themselves the action that would dissolve some of this in the system, and not irritate the cuticle so much, we would not only be eliminating from the system but it would add a bit more of vitality and buoyance to the body, and that we would find in bicarbonate of soda. This would be taken in small quantities; 1/2 drachm [dram?] once every third day until there are six such doses taken. The correction in its action is that the centers in the blood supply, that is where we change from the veinous [venous?] circulation to the vein circulation, acts on these centers, so that the taking up of these atoms of bicarbonate of soda will be distributed through the channels of the kidneys and liver rather than carried back to the respiratory system. The action of this, that is the blood supply, on the system acts at times when the blood is discharging in to the cells, or the clarification that produces the reflex condition; so that in the upper end of the epiglottis is produced a condition, formed through the lymph circulation, which will result as mucous or secretion thrown out on account of the congestion. As we dissolve this we relieve this condition.

3. There are some conditions in this body that are abnormal, but the body is not sick. There is nothing in the outside, there is nothing in the make-up of the world that is not in this body. Physically, mentally, it is excellent. The spiritual force as it acts within this body is very good.

4. (Q) [Question not listed on reading] (A) Often extraordinary in their action and secretion. But there is nothing abnormal in this condition; it is the action of the diet taken into the system. What is needed is to produce a balance of the sodas in the system, so that we have perfect equality between the alkaline states in the body. Do as we have given here, giving to the body thought and expression, and it will remove these conditions that are abnormal, but only slightly so.

5. (Q) How can this body cease constant snoring? (A) This is natural to this body. This would have to be overcome by using other means than natural ones. This state of being in any body is the physical condition present to the organs in use when in sleep; especially does this show itself when one sleeps at the wrong times of day. If he would let the breathing come through the nose instead of the mouth it would tend to stop this condition. It is not objectionable except to others, not to the body itself.

6. (Q) Can this body grow new teeth? (A) It is possible for any body to produce that which it has produced before. Everything that the body has by thought and by action has been created in the body itself. If a perfect balance is kept in the body itself the expression of thought carries on the forces in the system to perform any of the functioning of the body. Teeth are not likely to be produced in this body as the spiritual forces in this body are not up to this state in this body.

7. (Q) How can this body obtain the position he wishes in Washington? (A) Through the channels he has already begun he will find he can obtain just what he wants. In this connection we will find there is more than one thing to be taken into consideration as to whether it will be best for this body; if followed through the channels already begun, or along political lines, we would say it would be good. This body is capable of handling any conditions that present themselves.

8. (Q) Does the property owned by this body at Indianapolis contain anything of value? (A) We do not find it.
