This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home, 322 Grafton Avenue, Dayton, Ohio, this 23rd day of August, 1924, in accordance with request made by his mother, Mrs. [26].

Time of Reading 12:00 Noon Dayton Savings Time. Mims, Fla.

1. GC: You will give the physical conditions of this body at the present time, with further suggestions for the improve- ment of same.

2. EC: Now, we do not find a great deal of difference, physically, in the conditions in the body at the present time from that as we had here before, for those conditions that were be be accorded in the system have not had the effect as they should, for they have not been carried in the system as they should. Hence the condition in the lower extremities, especially in knees, where that the poisons that are exhibited in the system have their effect on the nerve ligaments and movement of the body. At the present time most as much as has been heretofore; save the difference in the diet the body is near the same.

3. The condition in the throat, that in the tonsil, is of such at present that it would be better were these removed, and we will find with this removal, by operation, you see, that we will rid the system of a great deal of the poisons as find manifestation in the locomotion of the body. It will be necessary, however, that eliminations in liver and kidneys be kept in the manner that the blood supply will overcome the condition to the nerve and to the organs as are affected by this condition. Hence it would be necessary that, not too much excitement to the secreting organs but, sufficient and rather of the lactic nature than of the acid; that is, these properties taken to produce elimination shall be lactics and of the saline nature rather than of an acid nature. That is, such as these would be well for the body to take regularly for some time after this was done:

4. Plain Phosphate of Soda, half a teaspoonful in a half glass of water, and add five to six drops of Oil, or Syrup, of Sarsaparilla. This will be found will keep the system cleansed, and well that the body be manipulated through the lower lumbar region, and the lower dorsal region, that the adjustments may be made, as have been given, that produce this condition, for with the removal of a condition created that which produced at first must be corrected also.

5. Do that, and we will bring the body to the normal forces. Do that osteopathically.

6. We are through.

R2. 5/3/25 Letter from [25]‘s mother: ”…I am writing to let you know that the chiropractor treating my son, for whom you prescribed, has helped him to some extent, but wishes him to be confined to his bed for further treatment, which he soon will be able to do and I can write you more fully…”

R3. 11/17/25 Letter from [25]‘s mother: ”…My son with the lame back and stiff knees, has taken quite a few treatments from chiropractic as you said - no help and has gone back to a physician, who don’t like the former’s treatments. My son is so thin and can hardly walk, do you think an operation on the ligaments might help? He is so anxious to get well and finish school. Will be glad to hear what you think best about these two [son and husband, [28]]…”
