This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at the office of the Association, Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 24th day of July, 1941, in accordance with request made by the mother - Mrs. [2454], Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

1. GC: You will give the relation of this entity and the universe, and the universal forces; giving the conditions which are as personalities, latent and exhibited in the present life; also the former appearances in the earth plane, giving time, place and the name, and that in each life which built or retarded the development for the entity; giving the abilities of the present entity, that to which it may attain, and how. You will answer the questions, as I ask them:

2. EC: (In going back over years from the present - ” - ‘39 - some changes for the environs - ‘38 - ”)

3. Yes, we have the records here of that entity now known as or called [2542].

4. Very good is the name, - in keeping with the vibrations.

5. Very interesting will be many of the experiences one might encounter with this entity in its sensitiveness to places.

6. By all means - especially in the present activities around same - take the entity to Arlington AND the home of Washington. These will bring many of those activities that were a portion of the entity’s experience; especially the room in which Washington passed away, and the kitchen.

7. In giving the interpretations of the records as we find them here, these are given that the information may be helpful to those who are entrusted with the developing and training of this entity’s abilities during this present experience.

8. While many of those things and activities have changed, in which the entity attempted to apply itself through the sojourns in the earth, these may be those channels in the present in which greater expression may be seen for the entity’s activity.

9. These might be indicated from the seal of the life experience of the entity through the sojourns in the earth:

10. A square, upon which there would be the circle - or the globe; indicating both the western and the eastern hemisphere. Then there would be the parallel lines upon same, with ships - especially of the air, and of all characters of communications to the varied centers. These, as a study for the entity, would bring much as may be indicated.

11. Upon and with a portion of this would be the activities in minature of those centers that would not be considered as of the greater population, necessarily, but those that are the greater communicating centers - that bring the activities to both the commercial and the religious forces of the earth. Hence: Greenwich, Arlington, Frankfort on the Maine, Moscow, Ankara, Bagdad, Buenos Aires, Lima, Auckland, - these would be the centers which would indicate, in minature, the activities in those portions of the globe.

12. In giving the influences that arise in the experience of the entity, it will be indicated and found that little of the astrological sojourns have an influence upon the entity. For those tendencies as characteristics are not merely from the astrological aspects but what the entity has done ABOUT those aspects in the sojourns in the earth.

13. Thus there will be indicated the open and free activity of the entity, with little fear of ANYTHING save the warnings that are or have been given; but a determination that must be kept in those activities in which there is reasoning with same.

14. The entity is subject to influence, especially through the formative years; and when the entity is eleven to twelve, other instructions should be given as to the manner in which directions would be then indicated - when the entity has chosen from those suggestions as may be made by those who are responsible for the early years of that developing mind and body here.

15. Those determinations must be tempered with mercy, justice. It will require longsuffering, by some - one that will make for that of REASONING with the entity. For, to the entity, there MUST be a reason for EVERYTHING, - whether it be material, mental or spiritual; and there must be an illustration for same.

16. From the appearances, then, we will find the general and specific characteristics, rather than from the astrological sojourns; though we find Venus, Mercury, Mars and Uranus as a ruling influence through which the entity passed during the interims between the earthly appearances.

17. This to some would appear an old, old soul; yet all souls are as one - they were all of the same; for soul is eternal.

18. As to the appearances, then:

19. Before this the entity’s activities were begun in a foreign land, and the entity was trained as a lawyer - or a justice of the law; yet with the experiences brought about during the American Revolution and the activities there, the entity came with Cosciusko into this land.

20. The entity became closely associated with the leaders in the activities about Pennsylvania, Maryland, Michigan AND Virginia.

21. Hence, as has been indicated, during the latter portion of the entity’s sojourn the acquaintanceships were with those of the Lee home, those of Mount Vernon; for there the entity spent some time during the latter period of his sojourn in the earth, with the first President as well as the associates of those activities through that experience.

22. Thus Washington, Adams, Jefferson, Jay, and all of those were associates or friends and acquaintances of the entity.

23. The name then was Leonard Zolocoffa. In the experience the entity gained, though - as indicated - was hindered from carrying out its activities as a diplomatic agent. Yet the assistance given to the early activities of the various lands with the new land may be said to have come much because of the entity’s counsel and suggestions during that experience.

24. Hence in the present, train the entity in law - diplomatic law; that will have to deal with many countries, many problems, - not only political but social and religious. For, eventually the entity will see a religious war.

25. Before that the entity was in the Roman land, during those periods when there were the expansions especially in North Africa, Asia and portions of Palestine.

26. In the southern portion of Asia, or about what is now Turkey, were the activities of the entity, - which extended into Syria and into Palestine.

27. For, the entity then acted in the capacity of gathering data, and pointing out the needs for establishing rules that conformed to the needs of the people in the various sections to which the empire then extended.

28. Thus we find again the entity in the diplomatic activity, or that in which not only law and order but the social, political, economic and religious tendencies or trends of a people must be taken into consideration.

29. Hence we will find the entity interested in political, economic, social AND religious activities in the present. These then should be the channels or fields through which the greater development, the greater training, the activities as would lead to the use of the abilities. For, these will offer the channels through which the entity may find the means of the greater expression of self.

30. Hence there will be the need for firmness, yet justice and mercy, and for the following out of a REASON for everything in which the entity may engage or be active.

31. The name then was Justinus.

32. Before that the entity was in the Persian and Arabian land, during those periods when there were the gatherings in the “city in the hills and the plains.”

33. The entity was among those from the land of Said, in what is now the Indian land. Then the entity was a caravan keeper, or one who personally directed the means of exchange between India and Ceylon, Egypt and Persia and the Caspian activities, and those along the eastern Mediterranean. All of these were a portion of the entity’s places of activity.

34. But with the acquaintance with those influences in the ‘city in the hills,’ the entity established that center there for its activities; thus aiding the founders there in making it a commercial center; yet never losing sight of the influences of the peoples in the political, economic and religious tendencies in their activities.

35. There the entity made for great gains. For, the study and the application in the dealings and associations with groups of various faiths brought a knowledge and an understanding that stood in great stead for the entity as a man of influence through that whole period of sojourn.

36. The name then was Ab-Den-Abba.

37. Before that the entity was in the Egyptian land, during those periods when there were activities established for the propagation of truth and law and order; in which individuals were to be considered as a part of the welfare.

38. The entity was of the Atlanteans born in the land, being then part Egyptian and part Atlantean.

39. Thus we find the entity rising to authority in the tenets for the individuals that aided in establishing unity through the various groups, throughout then the active forces in the world.

40. The entity was associated with all forms of communications, that will again be a part of the entity’s present experience - as indicated in its seal - and yet dealing with all types, all characters of conditions in the varied lands.

41. These will again be a part of the entity’s associations through this experience, IF there will be those trainings, those promptings, those directions in those channels that will fit the entity for that activity.

42. The name then was Ax-Ten-Tor.

43. As to the abilities of the entity in the present, then, - that to which it may attain, and how:

44. Much, as indicated, will depend upon the basis of the tenets that become a part of the policy, or the character as builded in the experience of the entity in the present.

45. But dealing with political, economic and religious questions will be a part of the entity’s experience.

46. As to how - this will depend upon the tendencies and trends. These we would give farther when the entity has reached the age of eleven to twelve.

48. (Q) What particular development is sought by the entity at this appearance? (A) Anything that would have to do with international law.

49. (Q) How should he be trained to assist greater development? (A) As indicated. The basis of the training should be the reasoning with, but tempered with mercy and justice ever.

50. (Q) What talents, if any, does this entity possess? (A) The MOST is its ability to wield or yield an influence upon all with whom it comes in contact! THIS is a talent that may be used for weal or woe, to be sure.

51. (Q) How, when and where was he formerly associated with the following? His father, [2746]? (A) In the experience before this, before the leaving of Poland.

52. (Q) His mother, [2454]? (A) In Palestine, as well as in the Egyptian land.

53. (Q) His sister, [M…]? (A) In the Grecian activity, and in the ‘city in the hills and the plains.’

54. (Q) His sister, [S…]? (A) In the ‘city in the hills and plains.’ There the associations were quite close. They scrapped a great deal, but they came close together a great deal.

55. (Q) His brother, [2677]? (A) This we find in the experience before this. There the associations were rather close, but the entity then the counselor. They disagreed, but they brought closer associations in others.

56. (Q) To what color, symbol or stone does entity vibrate best? (A) The ruby and onyx, and as to colors - the radiation of colors from both the ruby and onyx.

57. (Q) Should persuasion or firmness be used in the training? (A) Both are needed at times. For, as indicated, ALWAYS give the entity a reason for everything he is told to do!

R6. 3/19/51 Mother [2454]‘s report:

“Re. past associations with my son [2542]. I had quite an experience prior to his birth. At that time I didn’t know anything about reincarnation - I often talked with [2542] before he was born, and I would have known him, if I had not seen him until I walked into the nursery where he was, I could have picked him out. We were talking about this tonight, if he gets ill, I’ll be ill too, in exactly the same manner he is. If I get ill, he’ll have the same thing I do. Right now we’re having a struggle with trouble in our legs, now I don’t know which one has the trouble in the legs.

“He is one that is very determined in having his way, which is true. Yet I find that if I get an ideal across to him, he cannot be turned from it. It is so true that he has to be given a picture of what he is to do, if you can reason with him and show him why a thing has to be, he will not question it, otherwise he will not do it.

“Changes of environs in ‘39 - at that time we made preparations to come to the east coast.

“Re. his sensitiveness to places - that would write a book. I will give you an example. I came into N.Y. Central - with just 5 minutes to make a train - and he got to the door, and said ‘I don’t wanta’ go in that house’ - he immediately sat down and would not go one step further. I didn’t have time to explain to him why he must go - so I gave him a good sound paddling and we caught the train. This has gone on with him all his life, and still is that way. If he doesn’t want to go to a place, he just won’t go.

“We planned a trip to Mt. Vernon, not letting him know where we were going. We went to Wash. D.C. and he being only 6 yrs. old didn’t know that we were anywhere near Mt. Vernon. When we came back, we casually remarked that we would stop at this inn to have our lunch. Before we had lunch we went to the home of Washington, though we couldn’t go in the room where he died for it was roped off, but we could go into the kitchen and when we got in there, he looked around at me and said, ‘I know where this is, this is Mt. Vernon’ - When we got ready to leave, he didn’t want to, saying ‘I’m not ready to go yet.’ He can tell you more about American History than most adults that you meet. This manifested itself as soon as he was able to read books. He is very interested in any political subjects that you would hear over the radio, and is also interested in religion. He has his own books that he’s read thru several times, in addition to his favorite radio programs that carry political and religious subjects.

“In his room, he has all types and manners of ships and airplanes. He stays in his room a great deal and seems to enjoy these things. I came into his room one day and he had all my elastic bands stretched from the bed post to the windows and back again - when I asked him about them - he said ‘these are my telephone lines, don’t you tear them down.’ When we lived in … he used to want to go down to the station and watch the trains go by. These trains came in every three minutes. We’d stay all day, and he still wasn’t ready to go home.

“His ability to influence others is above the average. I find that I have to watch him very closely, for he will approach me from many directions, when he wants his way. If I’m not very careful he’ll have his way before I even know it. He’s the leader among the little boys around the neighborhood.

“He does show leadership abilities, and they all listen to what he says.

“Persuasion and firmness have been very, very necessary as a part of his training.

“So far he hasn’t been exposed to the ruby or onyx - so I don’t know what his reaction would be to these stones.

“I feel that without the life reading, that I would have had a very difficult time of it, for I’m sure there are many things that would have come up when I would not have been patient at all. I’m sure we both would have had a very difficult time of it. The reading has been wonderful in helping me understand him.”

R7. 8/1/60 Reply to form letter re. early American incarnation research:

Dear Friends:

“I regret very much that I have been so long in answering your letter. Therefore I shall now endeavor to give you any help that I can. I am, at this time however unable to do anymore research on the subject in question due to my active duty status in the Navy.

“It is my understanding that in the previous life I was associated with many of our country’s founding fathers in Washington, Philadelphia, and Mount Vernon.

“Since my childhood I have had many opportunities to visit these places, and especially in Mount Vernon I always feel a strange kinship with what might have been my past life. I have not been able to secure any positive proof that there was a man known as Leonard Zolocoffa, but of course this doesn’t rule out its possibilities. I have done some research in the area of Independence Hall but nothing definite has appeared out of it.

“I hope that in someway I have been able to help you with these small bits of information.”

R8. 6/12/62 Mr. [2542] got married. He spent 4 years in the Navy working in fire control electronics.

R9. 4/1/63 His father, [2746], reported that [2542] was going to college, studying to be an electronics engineer, which activity would have to do with communications. His wife was teaching school.

R10. 8/1/65 His wife gave birth to a baby daughter. They are now living in the D.C. area.

R11. 1/25/71 Mr. [2542] submitted this copy of his job application and resume of qualifications to add to his Life Rdg. report:

Gentlemen:

Enclosed please find a resume of my qualifications which I hope you will consider if you are anticipating a suitable position opening in your organization in June or July, 1971, at which time I will be completing extended studies at the College of William and Mary.

I am a 32-year-old veteran of four years’ active service in the U.S. Navy having been honorably discharged in 1963, with the rate of Firecontrol Technician 2nd Class.

I entered the Norfolk Division of the College of William and Mary in June, 1961, completing one year of course work in liberal arts, before transferring to the Electronic Engineering program at the Technical Institute of Old Dominion University. In January, 1965, I graduated with an ASEE degree in Electronic Engineering.

After graduation, I joined the American Telephone and Telegraph Company and worked as an Engineering Associate for two and one-half years. In June, 1967, I accepted a position as a supervising Systems Analyst for Engineering Data Services with Page Communications Engineers, Incorporated.

In June, 1968, to further my qualifications, I entered the McIntire School of Commerce of the University of Virginia, from which I received, in June, 1970, a Bachelor of Science degree in Commerce with a major in management and a minor in economics. In June, 1970, I entered the Graduate School of Business Administration at the College of William and Mary; I expect to graduate in June, 1971, with a Master’s degree in Business Administration.

“From 1965 through the middle of 1968 while working for A.T. & T. - Long Lines, I was fortunate enough to have been responsible for all of the original site selection and frequency coordination engineering for the satellite earth station located at Etam, West Va. It was my task to select the location for the earth station and insure that it would be interference free (radio interference). Since that work, I worked on site survey and frequency coordination problems for additional earth stations in Panama, Brazil, Kenya, Vietnam, Iran, Lebanon, Taiwan; Jamesburg, California; Brewster Flats, Washington, McVeytown, Pennsylvania, and Pamahe, Hawaii.

“As of this date, my work involves communication system planning for ultimate uses in railroads, electric utilities, and other business and industrial firms as well as U.S. and State Governmental agencies.

“My job title - ‘Communication Systems Engineer’, Telecommunication Products Department, General Electric Company, Lynchburg, Va.

R13. 12/72 Mr. [2542]‘s wife wrote: “[2542]‘s work in communication systems planning at G.E. is progressing nicely, and he enjoys the travel involved but considers priceless the opportunities to come home and work in our yard and basement workshop… [2542] is happy about having been asked to head a cost improvement program for his division (Microwave and Cable Communications) - 150 people, and also a pilot program in communications in the Northeast for G.E.

“His recent work for which he spent almost a week in D.C. searching for vacant frequencies (or usable frequencies I should say) enabled G.E. to make a good bid on a 3 million dollar project. They haven’t heard whether or not the bid was accepted yet.”

R14. 3/3/73 His mother reported: “[2542] has just been given another assignment which is to take him to Central America AND South America. This is another ‘working out’ of his Life Reading.”

R15. 12/18/73 Wife wrote: “In Feb., [2542] was made Sales Mgr. for G.E. telecommunication products in the southeastern part of the U.S. He traveled extensively until April, when he was promoted to the position of Foreign Sales Engineer with the Power Line Carrier Dept. So far, he has contracted for G.E. communication systems in Greece and South America and has found it a nice challenge and change of pace.”

“[2542] has just ret’d fr. the Mid-East, where he has spent at least 123 days of 1977, besides travelling elsewhere. Foreign sales in G.E.’s Power Line Carrier Dept. have increased so rapidly that the men who worked for [2542] have been given full authority for their sections of the world, allowing [2542] to concentrate fully on the Mid-East and Africa.

“In June, after 3 yrs. of preliminary work, G.E.’s bid was accepted by the Egyptian government for a Power Line Carrier communication system, and [2542] has been taking care of details concerning that job since then.”
