This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at the office of the Association, Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 21st day of July, 1941, in accordance with request made by the self - Mrs. [2454], Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

Time of Reading 11:05 to 11:10 A. M. Eastern Standard Time. …, Virginia.

1. GC: You will give the physical condition of this body at the present time, with suggestions for further corrective measures; answering the questions, as I ask them:

2. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [2454]; this we have had before.

3. As we find in the main, general conditions are very good.

4. There only needs be kept those precautions which have been indicated for the body, to keep near the normal physical reactions of the system.

5. Ready for questions.

6. (Q) Should I have any particular form of exercise? (A) Walking, and the regular setting-up exercises for a few minutes morning and evening.

When ready to retire, let the exercise preferably be for the lower limbs; this a movement as of sitting on the floor and walking across, or swinging the limbs one in front of the other for three to four movements.

Then in the morning, before dressing, exercise the upper portion of the body; the arms up and down - straight up, straight down; then the turning motion as of swinging the arms around for the movement to the body from the diaphragm upward.

These would be the better movements or exercises for the body; then walking, to be sure.

7. (Q) What causes the dis-ease of the legs? (A) Lack of coordination in the lumbar axis and the 9th dorsal. Hence the character of exercises indicated; of evening that from the 9th dorsal downward; of morning from the 9th dorsal upward. These will take away the heaviness and the tendency to get tired easily.

8. (Q) Has my mental attitude retarded my recovery? (A) No; this has been very well, and only needs to keep in constructive channels.

9. (Q) Am I sufficiently recovered to have a child? (A) Should this be the nominal result of coition, yes.

10. (Q) When is the best time to conceive? (A) Whenever there ARE the reactions from normal conditions.

R3. 9/29/41 Letter: “I have told Mrs. [2602] of my marvelous experience and complete recovery and she feels she would like to get a reading as soon as convenient for you.”

R5. 2/13/42 Letter: “We are so very grateful for all the wonderful help you have so unselfishly given.”

R6. 3/6/42 Letter: “In [2677]‘s reading, in the Atlantean appearance it speaks of the children of the Law of One and that he was among the children of the Law of One, also of the journeys through the air to the Pyrenees. I wonder if you have anything further on this, or an explanation of it, as it is something completely new to us. Also it refers to Ajax and Ax-Tell in Egypt. Do you know who they were and what their influences might have been? Am very sorry to bother you with this but am sure I could not find this information any place else in the world.”

R7. 3/9/42 EC’s letter to [2454]:

Dear Mrs. [2454]:

Thanks very much for yours of the 6th - and thanks a lot for the extracts from [2677]‘s report, they are fine. Feel honestly [2677] is one of the most promising young men have met in a long time, hence naturally was most anxious to know what his reaction would be to his reading for felt if it answered to a something within himself that thought (he might not put that something in to words) it would mean much, if it didn’t well, would mean nothing - believe it will mean much, and all THANKS to HIM. Will be glad to hear of any other comments he may make from time to time, for believe he has the right idea even in the study of the information, he will grow to it, or its meaning as he applies the suggestions here and there in his day contacts and his studies, hence will mean much more than to the ordinary person.

Suspect the absence of Mr. [2746] is much to you as to we here regards our boy now in service and as to where he will be sent.

“Children of the Law of One” believe refers to the belief as we would express it, and as did Moses or Abraham it was “The Lord Thy God Is One,” the expression of a Spiritual ideal rather than a material - as is indicated in the expression “sons of Belial”.

There is something given on the Atlantean readings about the travel at that time in some sort of machines - they seem to be able to go either in Air or water or both. Too much of that for me to try and tell it in a letter - will have to get some of them to copy something for you from those readings.

Ajax or Ax-tell believe he was the same person [487] - or seems to indicate that was a power - or in power among the Atlanteans who came into Egypt about the time the High Priest of Egypt was restored to power - and while he differed much with him eventually work together for the uplift of mankind as a whole. It no bother at all, only I can’t give it to you as would like from what hear others say about it - there will be a paper on all this data some time when it can be gotten together.

Miss Gladys or Mae, might get some of this for you much better than I can, and am sure either of them will be glad to do it for you if you will drop either of them a line. Mae I believe has been segregating that data from the Life Readings, for as you know it is given in very much piecemeal in different readings, but the funny thing it dovetails when put together.

Are having a few very very much March days here just now. The wind is very strong out, and rained a real downpour last night, is not so cold today - yet may be quite cold before the day is over, the weather man says.

Think they are doing very nicely with the Publication fund - Mrs. [Hannah] Miller has charge of that, and only hear from them now and then - several lately have sent something to me as the order for a Book or two.

All are glad to her from you. When ever we get together you are never forgotten. All speak of or ask about you, the Tuesday evening meetings are still very interesting.

R8. 4/3/42 EC’s letter to [2454]:

Dear Mrs. [2454]:

Having a young man of our own who am sure has been floundering and who has recently shown signs of reaching about the same conclusions as [2677] - felt you would appreciate just what [2677] had to say to me about his reading, think it is one of the most beautiful letters ever read in my life [See 2677-1 Reports], and could never tell any one how much this has and does mean to me. For to be an influence for good in the life of such a marvelous young man is indeed an privilege and honor. Am sure you will always be proud of him and he of you.

Don’t know as he expected me to send this to you, so can use your own judgement as to whether you tell him or not. Will write him as best can - while know can never say what I feel will do best can.

We still miss you - hope all is well and happy with you.

R9. 5/4/42 EC’s letter to [2454]:

Dear Mrs. [2454]:

Thanks for yours of the 29th - will be expecting the questions for Mr. [2746] and will get his reading on afternoon of the 7th 3.30 to 4.30 E.W.T. You can keep the period if he doesn’t, and the time is taken from the day of his birth any way.

Yes - think our boy Edgar Evans Cayce] was most fortunate, and he seems so well pleased with his studies. He is the studious type and have seen him sit and read a book on mathematics when he might have been out with the girls - tho believe he intends to get married in June, if all goes well. But is quite a different temperament from H. L. but in his own way a very lovely boy, we think.

Is lovely here, just got my garden all in and had a very very fine rain Sat. afternoon so hope will make the garden grow - noticed this morning some of my roses seem ready to bloom. Do like to see things grow, all nature seems to me to speak so of GOD.

The board has asked H. L. to appear before it again this week if he is sent on to army camp, don’t know just how we will manage the Congress, but if we can have it, think it will be about the 18-19-20 and 21st. Hope you can be here about that time.

R11. 6/8/42 [2454]‘s letter to EC:

Dear Mr. Cayce:

Hope you will accept my apologies for being so slow, your letter jarring me out of complacency came this morning.

About my success with the prayer program, I don’t know if I can write the many disappointments and blessing I have received so you will really understand how much it has meant, and what a great struggle it has also been. To some people prayer is spontaneous, it seems, but to me it is plain hard work, unless I get my conscious all cleared of its debris and can still my mind to recognize the all present intelligence of God. I might just as well not take the time, and as you likely know how much material static is sailing around. I very often feel I have accomplished nothing. And I must try to tell you the experience I had when I first began on the program, before I had a very definite approach worked out whereby I could, you might say make contact, I guess because of the nature of my prayers. But here I hit a complete negative force that bounced me off & back like a spring. And until I knew why, I did anything but understand what I hit. And this is how I got around it.

I put the war and all its vibrations out of my mind, in order to recognize the positive force of God, and then I knew I had been recognizing the destructive instead of the constructive. There has been at least twenty (egos) I used in this short report, and I only wish I could eliminate every one of them, but to know that misunderstanding hasn’t crept into my mind.

And now to the blessings, I have a complete new picture of what we are and our relativity to all the material life around us, also of the holocaust of material supremacy we have brought to a head. But the faster it explodes the sooner will spiritual supremacy be recognized. I feel the chaos of our world is caused by the spiritual forces moving in on the material (and material can only answer back the only way and under the only law it knows which is destruction of its self).

Surely hope this makes sense, but I wonder.

R12. 6/10/42 EC’s letter to [2454]:

Dear Mrs. [2454]

Thank you for yours of the 8th, - your experience with the prayer group is very interesting, and is very gratifying to me - so many Mrs. [2454], have written me about similar experiences of one kind or another - am most happy that was moved to write the letter in the first place, and feel that the meeting on the morning of the 19th should be filled with a great amount of spirituality, and many of us come closer to the oneness with the Christ Consciousness, certainly hope you will be able to be with us, don’t thing we will have as large a meeting as we have some times had but believe every one who is able to come will feel well repaid for the time and trouble - and know all here in our Bible study will feel better for having you with us even for a day.

Do hope Mrs. [2602] can come, think she would like to meet many of the people here in the Norfolk area.

Felt what [2677] said was worth passing on to others - for we all need the encouragement to know some one has gotten something worthwhile and are making an effort to apply the principles in their daily life - it isn’t what we know or learn but what we daily apply that counts.

Glad Mr. [2746] is getting the run of his reading - his is the experience of practically every one who gets any thing from the information - it must grow on you. Then is one able to make application of the suggestions made.

R13. 7/7/42 [2454]‘s ltr. to EC:

Dear Mr. Cayce & All:

We had a very nice trip home and found nice cool weather here. I want to tell you first how much we enjoyed being there with you for the Congress and now that I have had time to think about it all, I realize how much it really did mean and am very grateful for all the many blessings received there. It will be the essence that flavors the whole year that lies ahead to be lived until next June if we are fortunate enough to be there. [2746] was so anxious to hear all about it but I am afraid I am not able to put on paper the real worth. Am enclosing a letter from him to you as he didn’t know the address there he sent it to me to forward.

Is it possible to get my life reading at the morning reading on July the 15th, as that is our anniversary and that is my present from [2746] if it isn’t convenient put it in somewhere at least ten days from now as [2746] want to set in on the time too.

Enclosed is a M.O. for $10.00 on [2746]‘s. I believe this is the last on it isn’t it? I have kinda lost track.

Hoping this finds all well and not too much to do these warm days will say good bye and best wishes to all.

R14. 7/15/42 See 2454-3, a Life Reading.

R15. 7/12/51 Verbal report:

This reading has never been completely carried out. I did for a time the exercises when I was ready to retire, but I never did really finish them. The exercises for the upper part of the body were never done. Not until this year was the condition in the lumbar axis and the 9th dorsal corrected, but Dr. Richardson made the correction for me and I have really been relieved. Two treatments a week for nearly a year. I feel now that I’m in better health than I have been for the last 30 years. I do feel that much of the physical health came from the treatments, but mostly I feel that the healing has been from the spiritual. I know that when the soul is healed that it will manifest in the physical.
