-
GC: You will give the physical condition of this body at the present time, with suggestions for the relief and improvement of same.
-
EC: Yes, we have the body here. We have had this before, you see.
-
Now, we find there have arisen some specific conditions that have become acute, by the severity of the congestion, and the mental condition of the body being weakened by worry allows the portions of the body so attacked to give way, as it were, to the congestion. Hence we find the cavities about the face and neck show this congestion most severe, especially the antrum about the upper portion of the jaw, and this gives rise to temperature, and to the inability of system to eliminate properly.
-
To meet the needs of conditions at the present time, the body should rest at least another day before attempting to change, for the temperature as created has lessened the resistance of the body.
-
Take a purgative that will arouse the liver to activity, that will draw blood away from the congestion, until the system is equalized, see? While congestion is necessarily relieved by increased circulation, but the congestion HERE has left drosses. Hence the nerves of face, teeth, neck, head, show as pressure created. Hence increasing eliminations through the hepatic circulation. Take at least two (2) doses of this - one as soon as may be taken, the other in the morning, see? This in each dose; preferably in capsule:
Podophyllum…1/2 grain, Leptandrin…1 grain, Sanguinaria…1 grain, Cascara Sagrada…1/2 grain, Senna…1/2 grain. See?
-
Apply as a balm to face and to the antrum and neck - after the body has been thoroughly relaxed osteopathically - that called Bengay, or that as will RELIEVE the congestion in temple and antrum.
-
Drink plenty of lemonade (hot, see?), after the medicinal properties have been taken, and keep the system FULL of water, see? Drink - drink drink - and don’t eat too much. Keep feet warm and dry, see?
-
Do that, and we will overcome this condition as is seen in the body at present, [257].
-
(Q) Where may this Bengay be obtained? (A) At any drug store.
-
(Q) B-e-n-g-a-y? (A) Bengay - that’s the way it’s PRONOUNCED! It’s antiphlogistic balm, you see.
-
We are through with this reading.

R1. 4/3/27 Letter from [257] in N.Y.C.: ”…Just a line in haste today. I received your reading and it was just as I felt. The osteopath, Dr. Conner [Wm. E. Conner, D.O.?], from the Auditorium Hotel, came over and treated me, and would take no money for it - and will write to you 22 years an osteopath. Well, I took the ‘dope’ and went to bed and how I did sweat, but the next day I was on my way feeling much better. You said don’t get feet wet. Weather beautiful when reading came, and it poured raining at night when I expected to leave…”
R2. 4/10/27 He phoned for Ck. Physical 257-17, saying he was again suffering with his face and head.
R3. 1/14/58 GD’s note: The druggist tells me that in the early days when first on the market Bengay Balm was spelled Baume Bengaue - a French name, but in recent years changed just to BENGAY, the correct pronunciation, so people would know how to ask for it.
