-
GC: You will give the physical condition of this body at the present time, with suggestions for further corrective measures; answering the questions, as I ask them:
-
EC: Yes, we have the body here, [2587].
-
While there are improvements in the general physical forces, we find that there has not as yet been the full correction nor the reduction altogether of the lesion in the lumbar and sacral area, which has been indicated.
-
The adjustments have been very good, yet there needs to be another series and these corrections fully completed. This will remove those tendencies for the tenderness in the abdominal area, especially through the caecum and the area of the lacteal ducts, in the upper portion where the jejunum begins - or the emptying of the jejunum to the duodenum, or rather of the duodenum to jejunum.
-
This needs gentle massage. This would best be done by massage at home, with Pure Peanut Oil, at least twice or three times a week, - over the whole of the abdomen and especially the lacteal duct and caecum area.
-
Keep the eliminations very well, see?
-
But the corrections in the sacral AND the lower dorsal should be made osteopathically. The gradual relieving of this tension will make for better assimilation, better digestive influences, better appetite, and the relief of those tendencies for the body to become nervous when left alone - or from fear of those outward expressions of things that have impressed the body.
-
Do these in a very systematic manner.
-
And we would use again the Radio-Active Appliance to aid in equalizing circulation. Left wrist, right ankle; right wrist, left ankle. These should be the circle about the body in the attachments. Keep the plates clean, and put this on when the body is ready to retire. Leave on for an hour to an hour and fifteen to twenty minutes. These vibrations will be helpful for the body.
-
Ready for questions.
-
(Q) What is cause of hurting in abdomen, toward right side, when being treated by the osteopath? (A) As indicated, the lesions in the cerebrospinal system connect direct and make pressures upon the sympathetic as well as the central nervous system, as related to distribution of energies from cerebrospinal centers.
-
(Q) Why is she not able to go to sleep soon after being put to bed, even tho alone in a dark room and usually in a good frame of mind? (A) As just indicated, - the pressures of the nerve forces through the cerebrospinal and sympathetic system cause the imaginative forces to become retroactive.
-
(Q) Is it bad for her to go to moving pictures? (A) Occasionally it is alright, but these should NOT be of a very exciting nature.
-
(Q) Should all the same treatments be continued, as well as diet, etc.? (A) These as we have indicated, especially.
And make the corrections, - while not so deep as to bruise, make these in the sacral and lumbar areas, and extending, of course, to the dorsals also.
- We are through with this Reading.
Three copies for Mrs. [2808] (one for the parents and one for Copy to Ass’n file the osteopath)

R1. 2/3/42 Grandmother [2808]‘s letter to EC:
Dear Mr. Cayce
I have postponed writing you because I was not sure that I could keep up the osteopathic treatments for [2587], and now that we find, on account of the distance, 40 miles each way - & the wear on tires - to say nothing of the expense for gas & $2.00 each for treatments, we just cannot manage it. We do appreciate, more than I can tell, your kindness & interest and feel sure she too benefitted, tho there is still room for improvement.
If the Radio Active Appliance does no good, without the osteopathic treatments, I will return it to Mr. Godfrey. So if you can let me know about that, & he is willing to let me use it longer, if it will be beneficial, I will appreciate, very much, your advice.
Thanking you again & with much gratitude.
I am Sincerely [2808]
R2. 2/6/42 EC’s letter to [2808]:
Dear Mrs. [2808]:
Thanks for yours of the 3rd - sorry it is not practical for [2587] to have a few more of the Osteopathic treatments any way, but would keep up the rest of the suggestions, and if you could give her a good massage, say once or twice or even three times each week when she is ready to retire. Use Olive oil or Cocoa butter, or Peanut-oil for same. Would be a big help for her. Rub this along the spine. Am sure would get her over that nervousness and give her better confidence in her self - use the appliance each day for at least another month or so and would then like to check up again, and see how she is.
Do give her the rubs if practical.
Thanking you,
Sincerely [signed] Edgar Cayce
R3. 3/4/42 EC’s letter to [2808]:
Dear Mrs. [2808]:
Never very nice trying to make excuses - but beg pardon for not thanking you before this for the lovely basket of fruit. Was ill in bed when they came hence the delay - am feeling much better now thank you, and certainly thank you for remembering us so nicely. They were delicious. There seems to be such a difference in fruit gathered there and that as is shipped in to the stores. Guess that like you sent is tree ripened is why.
Certainly thank you - hope you are fine and that [2587] is getting along nicely. Do let us hear from her.
Thanking you and may HIS blessings attend you,
Sincerely [signed] Edgar Cayce
R4. 3/28/42 EC’s letter to [2808]:
Dear Mr. [2808]:
Thank you so much for yours of the 24th - please Mrs. [2808], know was not intending that you should give me this last basket of fruit - it came yesterday and is just as lovely as the first. We all enjoy the fruit very much, is so much nicer than we can buy in the stores and sure do appreciate your kindness.
Thank you, am feeling very well again, get little upsets just as did a week ago. The folks here about gave me a big birthday party - well they have done the same now for last six years, so has become a sort of institution and hear from many people all about, so your basket came as such. But they brought a lot of eats and, like most any one else, will eat too much when have such good things to eat, but am feeling alright again.
Have to keep [2587] on citrus fruits when she has a cold, nothing much better than Lemon and Soda. Hope she is over it, and will have to persuade her little by little to eat vegetables if she ever wishes to grow up and be normal. Know what that means, tho, for our Secy [GD], has charge of her nephew [Thos. Jeff. Davis] who is here with us most of the time, and he eats so little of the things he should at times.
Hope she comes along nicely - let us hear from her and know will be glad to check up at any time and see how she is.
Thanks again and with all good wishes
Sincerely [signed] Edgar Cayce
R5. 6/7/42 Grandmother [2808]‘s letter to EC:
Dear Mr. Cayce -
You were so kind as to say you would check up on [2587]‘s condition, and as she is returning home, this coming Saturday (June 13). I would appreciate very much if you could give her a reading on Friday (June 12). Am sorry I could not have given more notice but her going at this time was decided on rather suddenly. She has not looked quite as well & has lost one pound, not a good appetite at any time. Of course if this is too short a time to have the reading here & you wouldn’t mind she could have it after she went to Hampton, S.C.
Thanking you for all of your kindness.
Yours truly [2808]
