This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce in Birmingham, Alabama, this 15th day of September, 1922.

1. EC: We surely have the body here. It is poor. Now we find there are some conditions in this body, that is Mrs. [2646] we are speaking of, that are abnormal that may be corrected. These conditions as find them have more to do with the functioning of organs than of organic conditions. We find some conditions that are affected or being affected by these conditions through nervous system. We find others that affect more the trunk portion of the body and the digestive tract. We find the reflex conditions through various portions of the function. Now these are conditions as we find in this body.

2. First, in the circulation, we find the blood supply in this system is very good, that is the hemoglobin is of such a nature and character as to carry sufficient rebuilding to many of the portions of the system that are improperly used, hence perfect co-agulation is carried on in the system a great deal better than in some bodies that would be of the same conditions on account of the blood supplying forces. We find the respiratory organs good. The action of the blood through these being sufficient to carry to the utmost portions in the system, though we do not find an overstimulated heart or blood supplying force, a normal flow of a well balanced blood force in this system, the pulsation at the present time being at 82, the respiratory being at 14, the numbers of the red blood corpuscles being prevalent but are well balance in this body with the blood forces.

3. In the nervous system we find all of a difference in the balancing of the system along the portions of the spine here of the cerebro-spinal nervous system at the 5th to 7th dorsal, their application to the sensory organism of the nervous system, is affected in part by the nerve forces from reflex conditions produced lower down in the spine. These are reflexes from the conditions in the lumbar which we will get here, of course, later.

4. Their affectation comes to the head and especially with the vibrations of the nervous system itself, this effect shows this condition through the eye. This may be all corrected. This is more of a sympathetic condition than we have of condition in the eye itself.

5. Pneumogastrics are affected so that there is not proper nutriment at all times drawn from the nervous system to secrete enough into the …? through the intestines tract to produce proper amount of secretion hence the condition we have in the lower portion of the body affecting at times the digestion. This producing the bleeding we have at times in the lower end of the colon effect, producing at times laceration and some pains to some portions of the body.

6. In the lumbars at the second lumbar we find from the nervous conditions that existed in the system before this has been from time back when it first began the affection comes to the right side here it affects the kidneys here in their secretion, in the action of their secretion, not to the functioning of the organs as so much, not so much organic functions of the organ as in the secretion function of the organ which secretes from the system these poisons which should be eliminated through these channels. Then we have conditions, a reflex produced to the other dorsal and the lower cervical. This affects both the sympathetic nervous system and the sensory organization, of the system. This produces only spasmodic conditions. Do not mean by this that they become overly severe but bad pains at times along the right side here.

7. Coming from the second lumbar comes dilates across the upper portion of the hip, the action is through the pelvis coming down to the upper portion of the nerves governing the locomotors along the upper limb. Then it production then to the lower portion of the body just to the lower extremities, just as it were a little tingling sensation through the portion of the body. Now there not a misplacement of the organ itself, but a laxness of the nerves and muscles holding or producing the secretative functions of the organs. No organic conditions in themselves, or else we would have a different effect through the parex and too different effect through the rest of the nervous system and it would show quickly in the blood force.

8. The body is very good otherwise, especially do we find it good through the blood supply forces in the system, above normal.

9. To relieve these conditions through this body we would first relieve the condition existing both at the lumbar region and that existing at the upper dorsal and lower cervical, second lumbar, 5th and 7th dorsal, from the 3rd to the 5th and 6th comes to the cervical not over the cervical, at the cervical, by manipulation by chiropractic or osteopath to tend to relieve the pains through this. Then we would take into the system that it may relieve or right conditions through the duodenum and its supply secretory forces from the liver to the intestinal tract and to produce more to the sympathetic condition through the trunk portion of the body, we would take this after treatment had been given along the spine and the adjusting of lesions removed which would take three to four weeks, every other day treatments. We would take this into the system and occasionally take it from time to time because we will find this condition will be removed.

Cascara Compound…1 ounce, Rhubarb…1 ounce, Valerian…1 ounce, Simple Syrup…5 ounces.

A dose would be a teaspoonful mornings before meals, evening just before retiring. Do that, we will find we will bring this body to a normal condition by the exercising of the head and neck if repeated and kept up after these treatments begin, she can remove her glasses.

10. This would be the exercise. Head forward three times, back three times, to the side three times, then the circular motion. Then the bending of the whole body to the hands to the floor, this will assist also in relieving the condition through the pelvis and through the intestinal tract. Keep up [off?] the strain from all of this. Do that.

R1. 6/27/23 She obtained 2646-3 for trouble with her ears.

R2. 4/27/26 Husband [287]‘s letter reported on his own Physical Rdgs. and then said:

“Other members of my family also had good results with following the readings. One especially [Mrs. [2646]], the doctor said she could not live but 3-4 days. I wired Mr. Cayce. Six hours later he wired me what to do. We stopped two medical doctors that were waiting on her, who suggested she could not live but 3-4 days, and called in a homeopath doctor and an osteopathic doctor, with suggestions to treat her lightly. One week from the time that we began the treatment she was able to witness a wedding and sat up three hours. She is living today. That’s over three years ago.

“I could enumerate many cases similar but I believe it is not necessary.”
