GC: You will give the physical condition of this body at the present time, with suggestions for the further improvement of same.
-
EC: Now, the general physical conditions of the body are somewhat on the improve from that we have had here before. The general incentive of the system is to rebuild or replace used forces in the system. There is that condition, however, wherein the toxins form in the system from eliminations not being carried out properly. We would then, for this condition, apply THIS, in keeping with the general conditions, and we would have three to eight more adjustments, osteopathically given - that is, make these once each week, see? the GENERAL or full treatment, with the correction, specifically, of the conditions as exist in the 11th, 12th and 10th dorsal.
-
For the other condition we would (that is, to overcome the toxins, or the auto-intoxication in system) use the high enemas that will ELIMINATE the conditions in the system, see? Do not use too much of the purgatives that cause distress to the jejunum, see? that is, do not use acid incentive for intestinal cleansing, for the overtaxing brings to the mesenteric system too much of a strain and stress; cleansing the colon with the high enemas; keeping the diet in that correction wherein better conditions are supplied to the liver and kidneys. Do not use alcoholic stimulants, for this brings distress to the kidneys, especially with that character as HAS been used at times in the system. See?
-
With the correction osteopathically, with the high enemas - used first EVERY day for seven days, then every OTHER day for seven days, THEN whenever there is the least sluggishness in the intestinal tract - we will find this will prevent these conditions; with the correct diet, the exercise as the body knows as is good for same, in the open as much as possible, with as much company as is possible, keeping and looking on the bright side of life, we will bring the better conditions and the better response to the whole physical system, mentally, spiritually, and in every manner.
-
We are through for the present.

R1. 4/30/26 EC’s letter to [2675]:
Dear [2675]:
I am in hopes that you will find the enclosed interesting and worth while.
In this suggestion here for high enemas, I want to suggest that you get one of the J B L Cascades. These are distributed by the Tyrell’s Hygienic Institute, 152 West 65th Street, New York City. I feel sure that you will find this one of the very best things that you have ever used for this trouble. While it’s often necessary to use medicinal properties for certain conditions, there are times when the body is in such a state that it is best NOT to use such for the system.
I certainly wish that it were possible for me to talk with you concerning the Life Reading, especially. As you no doubt know, this is something new for me also; yet, there has not been a single one, save perhaps ONE, that hasn’t said, over and over again, these Life Readings were the most helpful things that had ever come into their lives; for, as time moves on, each one can see just how it fits in with the conditions that are presented from time to time that are necessary to be answered by the individuals themselves. I think though, [2675], you are just a little in error in saying that the study of the mystic unfits one for the everyday affairs of life. Would not it be better to say, an IMPROPER study, or the improper applicator of truths found there, unfits one? for, the truths found in the study of things of this nature are much like religion - a thing to be LIVED and acted in our daily life, without fuss, talk or show. Not a theory, but a LIVING THING, just as our individual self is - that is, something that we can apply IN in the everyday affairs of life, without even ATTEMPTING to insist that others adhere to same; for they are LIVING truths, if they are anything, and if they are living truths, they are the REALITIES IN our everyday life, and the talk and fuss about other things, that we think of as real ordinary, are the UNREAL things, or in other words, they are those conditions that Man applies in his life as Man Made Conveniences, and are in reality the most UNREAL things that exist; but, I know you don’t want a dissertation on such at this time. I hope when you have your vacation this summer you will spend part of it in Virginia Beach and we’ll have the opportunity to go over many of these things. I’m sure we could spend several days going over such matters and finding all interesting and really worth while. Be sure and let me hear as regarding your physical health, for this is an important thing at the present time. With kindest personal regards,
Sincerely, Edgar Cayce

Mr. Edgar Cayce, Association Of National Investigators, Virginia Beach, Va.
Dear friend Cayce:
I have read carefully the last Psychic Reading and have begun to follow closely the suggestions that it outlines. This sounds like another “center shot”. It seems, according to the statements there that I have overdone the drug habit, and it had already begun to dawn on me that I had.
I am not entirely unfamiliar with this Cascade. I have had it recommended to me several times by those who have found it very successful. But somehow it never occurred to me that this would go to the center of my trouble, and so I did not try it. I shall so now, with the confidence that I will receive the same benefits derived from all the other suggestions that have come this way. The body is a changing thing, like the mind and the soul that inhabits it, and this explains, I think, why a particular type of treatment works one time and fails to work the next.
I think you misunderstood my comment on the Life Reading or else I didn’t say what I really meant to say. I consider it of more permanent value by far than any of the other Readings, or than anything that I have come across in this line, for that matter. I base this simply on the character analysis that I know to be correct, leaving the rest, for what value it may prove to have in the future. When I expressed the opinion that too much study of, or too much dwelling upon mystic things tended to make one impractical, I had in mind the broad field covered by that word rather than the revelations of these Readings, and I was thinking especially of a friend of mine, a normal, intelligent good fellow who became somewhat of a crank on these things, partly because of the kind of stuff he read, but mostly because of the way he read; or, to put it your way, an “improper study” and a “misapplication”.
How much? What kind? Those are important questions to answer before you begin to study anything. They are also questions which every fellow must answer for HIMSELF - not for the other fellow, as you well said.
Yes, I think these are “living truths”. That is, if we are able to recognize them as such and apply them as such. They are LIVABLE truths anyway, whether we do that last or not.
The part that I said I did not accept, let me say, also, that I do not reject, because, while I do not know it to be true, yet, I don’t know it to be untrue; and it DOES explain, in one way, or throw some light on things that have troubled my religious consciousness more than I can tell. I refer to some of the inequities, or APPARENT inequities which we see in people being born to situations in life over which they have no control. But the theory of reincarnation tells us that we live, not this one, but successive earthly lives, that our present existence is a product of the lives we have lived already, and that our situation in the one to come depends upon the manner in which we live the present. If the mystic can give us a panorama of the past and an analysis of the present that we may profit by our mistakes and build for the future, indeed it does not make us impractical, but more practical. I have faith in this Life Reading because I believe that it does that thing. Of course, nothing is foolproof, not even the Sermon of the Mount.
I want to think you for your consideration and your close personal attention in these things. I shall be glad to hear form you from time to time whether I am calling on you for advice or not. I feel sure that I will be at par physically again before long. Command me when I can serve you in any way, and remember me always as,
Your friend, [2675]
P.S. Thanks for the invitation to visit Virginia Beach. I am planning a trip to Washington and other points should I get as much vacation as I am asking, and in case I do, will avail myself of the privilege of a stopover there. I want to see you personally, and also learn more at first hand about the work that you are doing there.
R3. 5/17/26 EC’s letter to [2675]:
Dear [2675]
I am in receipt of yours of the 6th, for which I thank you very, very, much. I am glad to know that you found the reading running true to conditions, and I am certainly in hopes that you will find the recommendations worth while and effective. I feel very sure you will.
I want to thank you very much, [2675] for your explanation as regarding your comment on the Life Reading. I assure you I appreciate your abilities as a student and I know you are pretty level headed on such things. That was mostly why I took issue with you as I did, for I wanted to draw you out a little bit more concerning this; for, as you very well know, I, nor any other man, understand all we know, or think we know, concerning such phenomena, for there is little we know save by comparison, and if we can compare each individual’s interpretation of that said concerning themselves we are better able to judge how thoroughly this goes into each individual’s earthly existences. I think, as I told you before, what little I know concerning psychic phenomena is practical experience and the results obtained, in a practical manner, as may be applied, from information obtained through certain phases of the phenomena. Now, I feel the same concerning Re-incarnation. I have never read or studied anyone’s theory concerning same. All of the knowledge I have, or theory, is being made or created NOW by the reports from individuals who are able to see themselves analyzed through these readings in the present life. Then, their comment concerning urges and the such in their individual selves, grouped as a whole, gives us a basis for speculation. So, you can see just how the matter stands with me. I don’t want to fool myself, and I wouldn’t lead another astray, if I know myself, for anything in the world; but, when we have step by step gone a little way, we want to be very sure of the next one.
Yes, it certainly would be fine if you can include Virginia Beach on your trip. It’s not much of a run from Washington, and may be made a beautiful trip by taking the boat down from Washington to Norfolk, and we are only a little way from Norfolk - bus or trolley comes within a square or two squares of our home. I certainly would like to talk things over with you. I feel that we might be of benefit to each other, and I certainly hope you will arrange to include a stop here on your list.
Let us hear from you from time to time. With kindest personal regards, I am
Sincerely,
R4. 8/28/26 [2675]‘s letter to EC:
Mr. Edgar Cayce, 115 West 35th St., Virginia Beach, Va.
Dear friend Cayce:
It has been six months I think since I have heard form you, or you have heard from me. I have thought several times to write to you, just a friendly personal note; but I hate to punish those I like with a letter when I have nothing pleasant to tell, and that has been my situation most of the time for the last few months.
I got very good results, as usual, from the last Reading. but again, as usual, it got me “out of the woods” only temporarily. After doing the things I was told to do, I felt very well for three or four months, and then, I took another “slump”. It seems I never will learn how to drive my physical machine. I have quit the doctors altogether. They are doing a great work - with some people -; but they don’t seem to be able to help me. They know less about me than I know about myself; and that certainly isn’t much!
I recall having been warned in the Life Reading which you gave me that this would be an usually “bad year” with me in more ways than one. Well, that prophesy is certainly running true to form - not only from a physical angle, but from every angle. I am not discouraged, but I believe I should have been had I not had this explanation in advance. That has been worth much to me, Cayce, and I want to tell you so. I had planned to do things this year that I now know it would have been impossible for me to do had I tried; and I know I should have tried but for the revelations made in that Life Reading.
Just as soon as you can conveniently do so, I wish you would give me another physical Reading. It seems that I ought to have enough advice on this point by now to be able to get by, but nothing that I do appears to work. You may arrange this with my address at …, Birmingham, and write or wire me the hour and date that you select.
With best wishes for you and yours, I am
Sincerely yours, [2675]

Mr. Edgar Cayce, Association Of National Investigators, Virginia Beach, Va.
Dear Cayce:
A few days ago I wrote to you saying that I was not feeling very well and requesting that you give me another Reading “as soon as convenient”. Immediately thereafter, complications developed in my condition which have been very disturbing, so much so that I have been altogether disqualified for any kind of duty. In view of this, I though it best to send you the wire which I did, and thus to nullify the impression I had conveyed in my letter that I was in no particular hurry, so that you might arrange the appointment as soon as it is possible for you to do so. I know that the demands on you from every direction are very exacting, so don’t hesitate to put me off when it becomes necessary to do so.
I have jotted down a few questions which I wish you have asked in order to clarify and complete some of the suggestions which have already been made in previous Readings. As it was not specified how the high enemas were to be taken, I took them with pure water, void of any medicinal properties. I got some relief from the first few, but they are no longer effective. It may that there is a medicinal property needed there, and so I have asked a question on that point. If this form of treatment is not mentioned in the present Reading, you may ask the question or ignore it as you see fit. I have never made drinking a habit, but I have taken drinks a few times on various occasions, usually when recommended as a specific for some condition from which I was suffering. A neuralgia, or “sunpain” from which I am suffering at present is a case in point. I have taken nothing alcoholic of any kind since the last Reading, in which it was advised that I not. I have asked a question on that in order to make more clear this advice.
I hope this finds you feeling well yourself. You are fortunate indeed if you do. A man’s whole three-fold being is out of gear when the physical goes “bum”. You must not let the demands of others tax your own reserve. Command me when I can serve you in any way, and remember me, as ever
Your friend, [2675]
…, Birmingham, Alabama Address to be used in Reading
What is the cause of the neuralgia pains in the region of the eyes from which the body suffers at present? Is the prescription of quinine and whiskey, recommended to the body for this condition good, and if not, what remedy would you suggest?
How should the high enemas, recommended to the body in the last Reading be taken, water with or without medicinal properties. If with, what medicinal properties?
Is the combination chiropractic-osteopathic movement as good for this body as the osteopathic movements, recommended in the last Reading, and originally taken by the body?
