GC: You will have before you the body and the enquiring mind of [270], …, Chicago, Ill., and his interest and association with the C. M. & St. Paul Railway, and you will answer the questions regarding same that I will ask you.

EC: We have the body, the enquiring mind, [270] - the association and interest as respecting C. M. & St. Paul Railway. These conditions and interests, as we find, are well - in the existent circumstances as surround the outcome of this particular utility at this period. While there will be the favorable report by the next meeting, these will have their exceptions regarding some combinations as are being considered with same; yet this favorable report will have its influence upon the outcome of conditions as well as the change in the handling of the properties with the combination, and only when the successful combines have been brought about will the receiverships be discontinued. This we find coming before commission and acted on by the early spring. These conditions as we find in these associations and surroundings. Ready for question.
