GC: You will give the relation of this entity and the Universe, and the Universal Forces, giving the conditions that are as personalities, latent and exhibited, in the present life. Also the former appearances in the earth’s plane, giving time, place, and the name, and that in that life which built or retarded the development for the entity, giving the abilities of the present entity and to that which it may attain, and how.
-
EC: Yes, we have the entity here, and those Universal forces as related to same and as have to do with the entity and its appearances in the earth’s plane, for as we shall see, the appearances have much to do with the abilities of the entity in the present earth’s plane, and of the urges as are latent and exhibited in the inmost thoughts and beings of the entity. While we find the surroundings, the environment, have much to do; yet the urge as is latent in the entity, and as we see exhibited in the present earth’s plane, and in its mode and in its manner of meeting conditions as they arise, come more from those urges than of the surroundings.
-
Then, as to these, we find in the present earth’s plane the entity took its position under the influences of Leo and of Luna, with Mercury, Neptune and Venus, having much to do with those conditions that relate to the elements of the incentives as received through existences, as would be termed in those conditions and surroundings of those elements.
-
Then, one that has many of these urges:
-
One prone to make the best of every condition as presents itself for consideration, yet keeping intent and purpose of self foremost. Then one self-willed, often to its own detriment.
-
One prone to be peculiar in conversation to many. One prone to be eccentric when other individual’s mind does not co-relate with their own thought, intent and purpose, yet using many of these for the development and for the usage of existent conditions in the present sphere.
-
One who is strong of mind, strong of body, strong of thought, strong of intent and purpose.
-
One who gives much study to literary conditions, and the effect would be well to study also.
-
One that does not give as much thought toward that purpose created in the minds of others by the thought as set in motion by the action or deed of the individual as they should. Hence a tinge, as it were, of selfishness. Not in the nature as would be called purely selfish motives. Rather selfish in the manner of thought.
-
As to the appearances then:
-
We find the one before this in that of Ireland, when the rule of the country was nearer to that of the whole lands, and then in the name Ann MacDonald. In this we find this urge: The desire to rule by might of the mind over those not so given to the study of such conditions. In this the entity in the present, and the urge as received from this, we find has much to do then with the love of principle, love of country, love of conditions that are even at times over-burdensome to others.
-
In the one before this we find in the Arabian country, in the Northern portion, during the time of the Arabian forces subduing those of the now Persian forces, during Croesus times, when monies were first made as mediums of exchange. The entity then in that position of the wife to the ruler of ex-checker [exchequer], or exchange to the king. In the name then of Aqura, and the entity developed much at that time. The change coming with the change in thought regarding religious thought and study, and in the present urge we find the deeper principles of the religious thought, intent and purpose the deeper seated conditions in the body, yet ever held rather as a personal rather than a Universal condition for peoples. In this we find the urge also for the writer and the data gatherer, as was seen from that studied by the entity in that period, though in a subdued state from physical experiences, or rather in that of the recluse state, yet giving ever the principles to others.
-
In the one before this we find in the Egyptian forces, when the first laws of the religious communication and rule were being made as mandates for man. In the second ruler of that day [See 341-10, Par. 4-A on 6/2/25], we find the entity then in that of Issississo, and in this time and period the entity assisted much in the correlation of the data in the manner and way of the scribe to the entity who gave the laws regarding such conditions. As then in this (present time, see?) we find these urges: To delve into the deeper principles, or root or stem of every thought, every intent, every purpose, yet submerging many under own convictions. Too strong self-willed often-times.
-
In the one before this we find in the far country of the East Indian, when the Erlats [Ural-Altaics?] came from the higher mountains to the plane countries, and the entity then again in the way of giving help and instruction to the peoples, in the manner and form of making beautiful body and landscapes, for the first abodes as homes were then being built in plane country and made of other than stone. In the urge at present we find the love of all outdoors in its beautiful states, especially in the winter and in the fall scenes of nature, and the ability to comprehend much of the animal relation to man’s existence.
-
Then, as to the abilities of the entity, would lie in that of being able to give much as a historian, or as a gatherer of data, or as a writer and compiler of articles concerning mystic forces, of articles concerning outdoors as related to animal life, as of drawings in art, of scenes especially in winter and fall.
-
As to how these may be acquired, many of these conditions have set and are set for themselves. Do not use will force in such an intent and way as to balk the conditions of an awakened mind, for the spirit ever answers within as to whether the spirit beareth witness with the Maker’s spirit of the relation one with the other.
-
Then, study to show self approved first unto Him, the Giver of all good and perfect gifts, following nearer to those first principles as were set in the Egyptian forces, for they be they which bespeak of the glory of the Lord.
-
We are through for the present.

R1. 5/12/25 [2717]‘s letter to EC:
My dear Mr. Cayce:-
I want to thank you for sending me my life reading so promptly. It seemed almost foolish to acknowledge its receipt and to tell you how tremendously it interested me, because I felt that you must know that too, as well as all the other things you told me in my reading.
Nothing hurts so much as the truth, and I found myself terribly depressed for a few days after reading your findings. [900] told me, however, that I had misunderstood or misinterpreted some of your remarks. I tried to believe him, but down in my heart I felt that I knew what you meant. And it hurt.
Neither of my pet ambitions appeared in the reading and that was discouraging. It has been difficult for me to work since then; I have such faith in your insight that it seems useless to work at things for which I have no apparent ability. And yet I would rather keep on trying than to do the historical or research work for which you declared me fitted.
I want to write and ask you for another reading some time soon, and meanwhile please accept my sincere gratitude for this one.
Very truly yours, [2717]
R2. 5/14/25 Her sister, Mrs. [2725], obtained a Life Reading via her recommendation.
R3. 5/19/25 EC’s letter to [2717]:
Miss [2717] New York City
My dear Miss [2717]:-
I was very glad to have yours of the 12th and note what you have to say regarding your reading. I’m afraid, however, from an inference in your letter, that you bestow upon me abilities that I do not possess in my consciousness. I may often read a great deal in between the lines in the readings that we obtain on people, but I haven’t reached the place where I am confident enough to say that I know individuals even from the picture we gain of them in the readings.
I’m sorry to know that the reading hurt, even though it might have been a truth - for I feel no one ever likes to knowlingly hurt, unless with the hurt they know they’re benefitting that individual. So, I’m in hopes when you have studied this a little bit that it will prove of sufficient worth that you may shape your life in a way that will make it even more satisfactory to yourself, for I’m sure of one thing. You have certainly learned why individuals have a will, and what WILL means in the earth plane, and as I said, when you have studied it, I hope you will prepare some questions and I hope that I may be able to answer same in a way that will do us both good. What did you think of your Sister’s reading? How soon are you going to commence on this story about me? I know what I want to say, and have tried to write it. I believe if you wanted to write it, you could write it in a way that someone else would like to read it.
Thanking you for your letter, and for your interest in the phenomena as is manifested through me, trusting that I may have the pleasure sometime of talking this over with you in person, I am
Sincerely, Edgar Cayce EC:GD
Background
Background
B1. 4/21/25 Mr. [900]‘s letter: “Peculiarly enough, of late I have been associating with authors of plays, novels, etc., and at a tea in a studio last Sat. afternoon I engaged in conversation a bright young lady author [2717] who writes stories for various magazines. She took me to her studio, where there were worlds and worlds of books. She showed me one named TERTIUM ORGANUM by Ouspensky… She said she was born a Protestant, had become a Christian Scientist, and was a heretic - just couldn’t swallow the things the preachers handed her from the pulpit… I was very happy to have found someone else who could be made happier mentally by the little I had thought out [in re Life, Christ, and Religion]…
“By the way, my author friend has likely written you for a Life Reading. Wonder what it will be? She is intelligent and gifted by inheritance, for her mother is talented and a dramatic critic.”
B2. 4/23/25 Mr. [900]‘s letter: “Regarding the Life Reading requested by my friend, the name is [2717] and she is a very interesting person, being an older girl and an authoress. She has written under a non-deplume’ [nom de plume] for newspapers, syndicates and magazines, in fact, she has been so successful that together with her sister [2725] she has formed her own syndicate from which she releases her own stories and stories of others to newspapers and magazines. She is the one I wrote you about in my last communication. She is watching every mail to hear from you.”
B3. 4/25/25 Miss [2717]‘s letter: “Through the recommendation of [900], I want to ask you to give me a Life Reading. I am tremendously interested in what he has told me of your work and expect to be aided in making certain decisions by what you tell me.”
