This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 1st day of March, 1941, in accordance with request made by the self - Mr. [274], Active Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

1. EC: Yes, we have the body here; this we have had before.

2. As we find, while there are many changes in the general physical forces of the body since last we had same here, many of those tendencies and inclinations continue to exist.

3. There has been quite a variation as to the effect had by the environs - of all natures; as to food values, as to mental attitudes and climatic conditions; yet in the main these environmental influences have not been the primary cause of the conditions in the body.

4. Thus, - if there is the desire for the continued activity in the same environs, - with a bit of change in mental attitude there may be those adjustments brought in the physical forces of the body to meet the general needs and conditions that as we find exist.

5. These as we find are the basic tendencies and disturbing forces that exist in the present:

6. There are tendencies toward a general catarrhal condition in the mucous membranes, or in the lymph circulation. This existing mostly in the nasal passages and soft tissue of face, because of the general exhuming or dripping from same, produces irritation at times in the throat - thus causing an upsetting in the chemical balance of the digestive or assimilating forces of the body.

7. In the present, then, to meet the general needs and to make those corrections so that there may be a great deal better condition for the body, we would have these three forms of applications:

8. Through such as Dobbins [Frank P. Dobbins, D.O.], we would have corrective measures - at least half a dozen general osteopathic adjustments; with particular reference made to setting up drainages through the nasal passages, the head, neck, and throat; with such stimulation to the centers that tend to EMPTY the stomach and duodenum as to cause better eliminations and drainages from same.

9. We would also prepare an antiseptic to be used as an inhalant, which may be kept not only in this climate but in others that may be a part of the body’s experience. Prepare an eight ounce container with sufficiently large a mouth that there may be two vents into the container, neither of which is to reach to the solution but both are to be so prepared as to be kept well-corked - they may be small glass tubes through rubber or cork stopper, with a small cork in each tube. In such a container put the inhalant, prepared in this way:

10. To 4 ounces of Pure Grain Alcohol, add - IN THE ORDER NAMED:

Oil of Eucalyptus…24 minims, Compound Tincture of Benzoin…15 minims, Rectified Creosote…5 minims, Rectified Oil of Turp…10 minims, Tolu in Solution…30 minims.

11. Use this once, twice or three times a day. First shake the solution, then remove both corks, and inhale through the nostrils - first one side and then the other, then into the lungs themselves through the mouth - though do not swallow the fumes, merely inhale as one would a cigarette. This will act as an antiseptic as well as a healing solution; in conjunction with the corrective measures made through the adjustments and the activities created with the general blood stream.

12. Then use the Radio-Active Appliance each evening when ready to retire. This is to act as a balancer, or as a booster in the circulation, using the vibrations of the body-forces themselves to keep better eliminations and assimilations through the system; causing better rest and the gaining of more strength from rest, - thus causing the feeling of depletion to be eliminated - with the general corrections in the system.

13. In the present, along with these applications we would take ADIRON as a vitamin and a body-builder. Then when in the other environs we would also take this for a week or ten days out of every five-week period; that there may be kept the proper balance of the vitamins and the calcium and the irons in the body. The Adiron tablets, you see; taken with the meals.

14. Also when in the semi-tropical or tropical environs, we would take CALCIOS about once or twice a week ONLY - not oftener than that.

15. Keep these on hand - under all circumstances (the ADIRON and the CALCIOS) - to be taken from time to time to maintain a balance.

16. Do these and, as we find, we may bring the bettered conditions and keep a much nearer normal balance for this body, [274].

18. (Q) What is the connection of stomach? (A) As indicated from the effects of the mucous formations, we have at times the lack of proper assimilation. This has not been of the nature as to cause lacerations, ulcerations or such, and will not - if the causes are removed through the manners we have indicated. With the correct drainages, with the correction of the SOURCES of the disturbances, this condition should disappear.

If there is the upsetting at times, or the burning, or lack of digestion, or the formation of gas, then a digestal may be taken in the form of a curd-producing agent. Such as Alcaroid or Bi-So-Dol, in that case, would be very well for the system.

19. (Q) The liver and other glands. (A) The effects in these are all from the same general cause, you see.

20. (Q) The colon and appendix. (A) In all of these areas there is a sympathetic condition. All of these will work together and be cleared up if there is the purifying of the system in the way indicated, by the three manners outlined - the corrective, the preventative and the alleviative.

The last two (the inhalant and the Radio-Active Appliance) would be kept regularly, along with the other properties indicated, under the varied environs, see?

Also keep that in the diet to meet the needs, taking those precautions under the varied environs and conditions - as to the manners of preserving the foods that are in keeping with the best conditions for the body.

Do not tax the system as to cause undue conditions, but we find that the taking of the osteopathic corrective measures should bring much better conditions for the body.

21. (Q) Weakening of mental powers of will, concentration and memory.

(A) This is the reflex from poisons that act upon the blood stream. It is an attitude as well as a physical reaction. Hence, keep the mental attitude ever of a constructive nature; knowing, feeling, acting that the creative or spiritual forces within self are able to keep a balance, - if there is the coordinating of self in its activities to and with its spiritual and mental ideals.

According to the Readings, it is the best balanced vitamin tablet on the market. You might obtain them at a Health Food Center, else it will be necessary to order them direct.

Calcios is manufactured and distributed by The Colloidal Health Products Corp., Greenvale, Long Island, N.Y., Atten. A. A. Nicholson. It is a syrupy paste that sells for $2.50 a jar. According to the Readings it is the best way of assimilating free calcium.

R1. 10/25/41 He wrote [from Brasil]: “Enclosed questions for a Ck. Physical Rdg. with a $10 ck… Main acute symptoms now as follows: Throat condition has become acute for weeks now

• Constant inflammation and pus secretion of the deeply imbedded tonsils with accompanying pains in the head, face and neck and occasional fever. Secondary symptom: occasional piles inflammation. Since last rdg. I have had a dozen osteopathic adjustments by Dr. Dobbins as advised. I am taking Adiron and Calcios as prescribed. But the alcohol of the antiseptic inhalant seems to irritate the inflammed tissues. What do you advise to relieve this particular condition which seems to get worse? (One doctor once advised tonsillectomy, but I don’t think it would solve anything; furthermore it might be a delicate operation due to the cryptic location of the tonsils. Let us get at the CAUSE of the inflammation.)

B2. 2/27/41 On short business trip to N.Y. from Brazil, he submitted questions, including these statements:

“Here are the physical parts of the body which have given troubles since last rdg. The throat: chronic tonsils infection with pains in the nearby tissues of the head, face, neck, nose and ears, and gums. The stomach: (Weak hereditary point, my mother having died from a cancerous stomach in 1937) The liver and other glands: The colon and appendix: General condition and weakness of the nervous system, fatigue (legs, ankles, back): Weakening of mental powers of will, concentration and memory… Is the subtropical climate of Sao Paula, Brazil, hot, humid, foggy (in spite of the altitude of 2000 ft.) especially detrimental to me? The food is known to be deficient, down there, in calcium, salts, minerals, vitamins, and the like. Can the lacking elements be supplied by special preparations adapted to my much underweight body? Can you outline a proper diet? (Raw food is always suspicious on account of typhoid fever and dysentery.) (Good pasteurized milk can be had in the city. I drank a qt. a day, mid-mornings and mid-afternoons, for several months, but failed to gain any appreciable weight.) What type of physical exercise would you recommend in such a climate? In case special tr. and massages are recommended, can you tell me of a reliable doctor in N.Y.C. (while I’m here), not too expensive? Thank you.”
