This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 322 Grafton Avenue, Dayton, Ohio, this 20th day of December, 1924, in accordance with request made by her husband, Mr. [5453].

1. GC: You will give the physical condition of this body at the present time, giving the cause of the existing condition, also the treatment for the cure and relief of this body. You will answer any questions relative to this body that I will ask you.

2. EC: Now we find the physical conditions in the body much different from those as we have had here before. Some are some better, others have changed through exaggerated conditions of some, as we have already given.

3. Now these are the conditions as we find them at the present time:

4. IN THE BLOOD SUPPLY, this we find deficient, and the cause is the lack of assimilation in system, produced by a nerve condition in system, deflecting the functioning of portions of the body, especially that which has to do with assimilation.

5. The constituents of the blood supply very good, though the equalization not always good; that is, circulation in self.

6. IN THE NERVE SYSTEM, in this we find the greater trouble in the body. This we find in many ways and manners in the distressed condition, through conditions existing in pelvis and through the functioning of organs as are irritated by reflexes from nerve system, and the general condition being produced from this nerve condition, as also we find that of the gland secretion affected, especially the ductless glands, both in the torso and in the extremities.

7. The specific centers that are involved: Those in the ilium and sacral plexus, finding their reflexes in the 2nd lumbar, in the 10th dorsal and in the 2nd, 3rd and 4th cervical. In their action in system, we find in the functioning of the organs of the pelvis, creating that discharge of secretion in false pelvis proper, and the functioning of the organs of the pelvis in their secretions, that give a strain and irritation to the nerve system, deflecting circulation in hypogastric region, and the hypogastric circulation throughout system reflexing from this in the pneumogastric circulation, affecting digestion, and directly through this pneumogastric and hypogastric arterial circulation, affecting assimilation in the intestinal digestion.

8. In the gland circulation, this same condition existing, so that the glands, the lyden [Leydig] glands in pelvis, in intestine, in the system throughout, find their restraint - as is shown in the thyroid region, producing then the simple form of obstruction in that region, same going on throughout the whole system.

9. IN THE FUNCTIONING OF THE ORGANS, we find all involved in the condition, for with the poor assimilation, a weakened condition exists; the inability of the body to force a normal functioning of any organ proper without taking, as it were, second thought, even in that of involuntary functioning.

10. Then to assist, and to bring the body to the normal, we would give those properties and those vibrations to the system that will create the equalization throughout the whole body, taking medicinal properties as would be found in this:

To half an ounce of Vinol, add

Simple Syrup…6 ounces, Elixia Calisaya…1/2 ounce, Fluid Ext. Stillingia…1/2 ounce, Elixia Celerena…1/2 ounce, Iodide of Potassium…20 grains, Bromide of Potassium…15 grains, Fluid Ext. Capsici…2 minims.

Shake the solution well to-gether before each dose is taken, which would be half a teaspoonful taken every four hours, until the body is quiet. When this quietness, this relief from irritation has come over the body, and the body is able to take foods and assimilate, or keep same without producing nausea, we would then begin with the deep manipulations in the cervical, dorsal and sacral and lumbar region, taking at least eight treatments, that the body may be set to adjust itself to bring about perfect assimilation, and give more eliminations through the body.

12. (Q) Have the violet ray treatments been effective in reducing the conditions in the neck? [GD’s note: With using violet ray regularly, the glandular swelling was reduced and goitre did NOT develop.] (A) Been effective in part. Needs more of the manipulation to adjust the conditions, so that the vibrations from violet ray would be more effective. We would keep the violet ray for the body.

13. (Q) What causes the conditions in the right eye? (A) Lack of eliminations through this portion of system, deflection in eliminating centers.

14. (Q) Would the condition of the eyes be assisted by the body wearing glasses? (A) Correct the conditions through the general system. Not necessary as yet for the body to wear glasses; UNLESS the body makes up its mind that it’s necessary. Then it would have to.
