Time of Reading 11:00 to 11:20 A. M. Eastern Standard Time. …, N.Y. (Ques. as to material, mental & spiritual affairs)
-
EC: Yes, we have the body, the enquiring mind, [282]; this we have had before.
-
Ready for questions.
-
(Q) Give prayers and affirmations specially adapted to the body-mind in his present condition. (A) FATHER, MAY THERE BE IN ME THAT MIND, THAT DESIRE, WHICH PROMPTED THE LIVING OF THE LIFE OF THY SON IN THIS MATERIAL WORLD.
MAY I BE DRAWN NEARER AND NEARER TO THAT UNDERSTANDING OF THE PURPOSES OF THE MANIFESTATIONS OF LIFE, MAKING MY WILL ONE WITH THY WILL, FEELING AND REALIZING THY PRESENCE ABIDING DAY BY DAY IN MY EVERY EXPERIENCE; REALIZING LIFE’S ACTIVITIES ARE THE MANIFESTATIONS OF THY LOVE.
KEEP ME IN THE RIGHT WAY. AMEN.
- (Q) What are the highest ideals that should be followed by the body-mind in all his business activities? (A) “As ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them.” Loving God, in body, mind and soul; keeping self unspotted from the world; eschewing evil; loving thy neighbor, thy brother, as thyself. This is the whole law. This is the ideal that He, the Master, gave.
And when one walks, talks, thinks, acts in such a way and manner, He is faithful in that He gave, “I will not leave thee comfortless but my presence, my consciousness, will abide with thee, giving thee the thought, the word, that thou shouldst think at all times.” Trust ye in Him.
-
(Q) Should body-mind carry any life-insurance? (A) This, from the material and from the material-mental attitude, is a precaution that all should take advantage of when it is not made a burden to the body.
-
(Q) When should body-mind again come for information through these sources? (A) As indicated from that given above; if the body-mind, the consciousness, becomes enmeshed in the cares of life, in the problems, in the turmoils, and desires or seeks for that which will or does enable the body-mind, the consciousness, to gain a better vision of those promises that are sure; if the body-mind, the consciousness, feels that through these channels such may be accomplished, then it would be well - as that is applied in the experience; as it has been given, even by Him, it is well that ye strengthen one another in brotherly love, in kindness, in giving that encouragement which enables each to find that there is not only the caring, the desiring, but that even here someone cares! And, with this consciousness, if the body-mind finds that there comes aid, then seek through those channels where it is found.
-
(Q) Should there be a change in the line of work followed by the body-mind in the coming twelve months? (A) As we find, other than that which has been suggested as to how the developments in the various spheres of activity are carrying the body on to the mental, material and spiritual developments, there would be little change; other than that which those developments bring.
-
(Q) Is there any further advice or counsel for the body-mind? (A) Study - in all things - to show self approved unto that ideal which is set before self, knowing - and looking forward to - the closer communion with Him. For, the mind builds - and the entertaining of His will brings the closer communion with Him. In faith, in patience, know that the development of the soul’s consciousness in Him grows as the applications of that known day by day are put into active, actual practice.
Then, be faithful; for He that is made ruler over much is he that has been FAITHFUL over the little. Each are called in the more perfect way, even as that known is made manifest in the dealings with man. For, we are all ambassadors for Him.
-
That is all the questions.
-
We are through for the present.
Reports
Reports & Follow-up
R1. 3/20/33 He wrote: “I am very pleased with the third one of my rdgs. [282-6] rec’d today. I believe you will agree that fundamental truths are expressed in a clear and beautiful manner therein. The information in these three rdgs. has perfectly satisfied the questions in my heart and mind. I believe they will be as a seed that will grow and finally bear fruit in abundance in the years to come, in addition to their value in the immediate present.
“Accept my personal thanks for all the effort you have taken in completing the answers to my questions. When I originally wrote them, I really expected only a few of them to be answered. It certainly was most kind of you to answer them all.”
R2. 6/20/33 He sent part of his pledge to the work of A.R.E., writing about his recent stay at Va. Beach for the A.R.E. Congress [2nd]:
“It has been a great inspiration to listen to the readings, and the talks and lectures of the Congress. But more than anything I was impressed by the spirit for work and service expressed by all those attending, and particularly by those responsible for carrying on the routine work of the Association. It is a noble work that will grow and grow as the membership increases in number and develops spiritually.”
R3. 7/25/33 His sister, Miss [275] rec’d in meditation a Life seal. [See Source Key File #282 for Life seal supplement re 282-6.]
R4. 10/31/33 See 254-70, Par. 14-A personal message, in re EC’s work.
R5. 1/15/34 He was present for a detailed account of his Egyptian incarnation, in 282-7.
