This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 13th day of June, 1934, in accordance with request made by the self - Mr. [287], Active Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

1. EC: Yes, we have those conditions respecting this body, [287]; this we have had before.

2. As we find, there is considerable improvement in the general conditions of the body. There are still those conditions that recur from the growth, or the growth produced from the searing or the scar tissue produced by conditions in the throat some periods ago, or in the upper portion of the cardiac in the esophagus and in the throat itself.

3. As we find, the sinusoidal or the activities of the electrical forces would carry the circulation, if applied to those portions of the cerebro-spinal system from which the nerve impulses are received - and the other plate (through the sinusoidal in the very low form) applied over the irritated place. This should reduce and carry away through absorption and drainage.

4. This will require, of course, the manipulations to be taken, as well as the olive oil and the Saffron, that may make for the proper reaction in the nerve forces to the portions of the body.

5. Ready for questions.

6. (Q) Why does the throat condition continue to trouble me? (A) As indicated, from the scar tissue and the natural tendency of growth from this.

As we find, we would use the sinusoidal; making the first application of the anode to that portion of the spine from which the impulse is received to the area where there is the indication of the hardening of the muscular forces, or in the gristle, as it were of the throat here, and the other plate over the place itself, you see - the very low sinusoidal.

Naturally, it will be necessary for the other things as indicated.

R1. 8/16/34 He wrote: “Some time since I have written you. I am still having trouble with my larynx. Still causes severe pain unless I take six or seven tablespoons of Olive Oil daily. Otherwise I am just as well as anyone could be. Throat still swells and chokes me unless well oiled up.

“I had hoped to get down to see you this summer, but guess I can’t. Times are pretty hard with me, not able to do anything. Hope you are getting along well.

“I have been down town four times this year.”

R2. 10/15/34 He wrote: “Since your letter of August 21st, the doctors here have been trying everything possible to get my larynx cured so I could be able to look after business. The last thing they did was to put me on a diet and I had nothing to eat for three days excepting orange juice. It gave no relief whatever.

“As I have advised you before, I seem to be 100% good except my throat, and all my trouble seems to be in the larynx. If I exercise, even walking, it chokes me down until I have to stop and I have a severe pain in my throat. But if I am quiet for five or ten minutes, I get over it entirely, but, if I walk again, it is the same thing over.

“The only thing that gives me relief is your diagnosis of my case. If I drink the olive oil in a sufficient amount, then remain quiet for ten or fifteen minutes, I can walk without suffering.

“The larynx is sore and there is a hard lump at the right side.

“I also have to take the saffron tea. If I don’t I become restless and nervous and can’t sleep, but, if I take it according to your directions I sleep well. However, as soon as I stop the oil and saffron tea I go right back. I have lost weight - I only weigh 144 lbs. I have recently lost 10 lbs. on the diet treatment, but I am eating again and feel lots better.”

R3. 11/19/34 He wrote: “At last I am pleased to be able to inform you that I am getting well. Since your last reading I have followed it to the letter and I am now able to walk anywhere without pain, and at most any speed.

“Now, with reference to my hearing: I have asked you at different times about this and, for some reason, you have said nothing. Perhaps it is due to the fact that I cannot be benefitted. Also I still have trouble with my voice. The least little talking causes me to become hoarse; otherwise I seem to be in perfect physical condition.

“I would like to hear from you in reference to my hearing and my voice. If this can only be corrected, I will then be able to write you a wonderful letter, acknowledging what you have been able to do for me. It has now been about three years since I have been able to do anything.”
