This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 115 West 35th Street, Virginia Beach, Va., this 9th day of September, 1927, in accordance with request made by self.

[Edgar Cayce; Gertrude Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno. Hugh Lynn Cayce and Thos. B. House, Jr.]

Time of Reading 4:10 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. …, Va.

  1. GC: You will have before you the body and the enquiring mind of EC present in this room, and the dreams this body had on the dates which I will give you. You will give the interpretation and lesson to be gained from each of these, as I read them to you, and you will answer the questions I will ask you regarding same.

  2. EC: Ready for dream.

  3. (Q) A few nights ago. I was entering a station to go away on a train. Crowds of people were inside, but grips and suitcases were sitting along on the outside and I put mine down, too, before going in. When I came back out I couldn’t find my grip and was very worried, for I had some clothes in it that belonged to someone else, and it seemed even the grip didn’t belong to me - But I decided to go ahead, but when I went back the train was gone. (A) In this emblematical condition there is presented to the body and to the mind, for the study of same, those conditions respecting the endeavors of the body pertaining to the efforts in the raising of money or capitalizing on the various conditions presented to the body from time to time. While each and every effort should be used, yet, as has been given, watch as well as pray. Seek and ye shall find, but keep that thou hast in hand - see? [Work:E.C.] [See Par. 7-A below.]

  4. (Q) Dream of recent date regarding Hugh Lynn getting mad and leaving home. (A) In this there is presented for the study of the entity, and for those forces as surround same, rather that correlation that harkens back to those elemental conditions in which these entities labored for and against purposes that were being set for the benefit of mankind and for the greater enlightenment for the world’s forces. And as seen through that experienced, by the reasoning that occurs between them at this leaving - that while, in the consequences of natural conditions that would apparently arise from that experience, the questions would arise between the two in the present experience, yet being forewarned, be forearmed. Reason together. Do not cause dissension that would prove detrimental to self or to others. Keep that in mind. Egypt:Ra-Ta Period]

  5. (Q) When will this arise? (A) Whenever the contention arises!

  6. (Q) Does it refer to some specific condition to arise, or contention? (A) Refers to time - which may be one - as is all time. May occur at any time.

  7. (Q) Regarding the first dream, should EC make the contemplated trip to the various cities? [See Par. 3-A above.] (A) Seek if ye would find. As has oft been given, these should contribute that as the nucleus for the building, and as these have not why not seek personally? for these, or many of these, may be influenced to contribute much.

  8. (Q) Just what was meant by “keep what thou hast in hand?” (A) That meaning in the spiritual, not material sense. Do not so construct self by taking on that belonging to others, or others’ thoughts, so that it hinders in the attempts of the body.

  9. We are through for the present.
