EC: Yes, we have the body here; this we have had before.
As we find, there are still those disturbances through the liver and gall duct area. This has been rather a serious siege, but the duct today has disgorged and thus some relief is indicated.
There needs be those precautions which we have outlined; that there be taken, regularly, in periods, the Castor Oil Packs. Take these each evening for three days in succession, and then the large dose of Olive Oil. Leave off three to four days, then take another series. Continue in this manner until the condition has entirely cleared. Then leave off three to four weeks; then these should be taken again - regularly - in series - even though there is not the severe pain.
Following each series of the Packs, have an osteopathic RELAXATION; NOT a stimulating treatment, but adjustments to relax and to produce better activity through the liver and gall duct area.
The diets should be watched rather closely.
Liver, kidney and such should be portions of the diet; for the very activity of same is beneficial.
Also roast beef, mashed potatoes and the like are beneficial for this PARTICULAR condition.
Not too much of fruits, but vegetables - okra, cooked apples (not raw), squash and the like.
No sweet potatoes, no black-eyed peas, no dried beans; but green beans occasionally.
These as we find, with the precautions, should be most helpful.
If there is the temperature WITH the attacks, operative forces would be necessary; for there is the strangulation that is indicated by the acute pains, and lack of assimilation.
Occasionally the Milk of Bismuth with the Elixir of Lactated Pepsin should be taken, but these should be BEFORE the doses of the Oil following the Packs, you see, so that the absorption from the gases that form in duodenum from undigested foods will have taken place. That’s why the character of foods indicated, with the gastric formation, do not at the present produce so much gas.

(Q) In case operative measures become necessary, would Babcock be helpful in this case? [Wayne W. Babcock, M.D., Temple Univ. Hospital, Philla., Pa.] (A) Any good surgeon that would cooperate with those conditions as might be indicated at such a time.
(Q) Is it seen that there will be any necessity for such measures? (A) This will depend upon the care, and upon the attention that is given. As just indicated, only very recently - today - has there been a disgorging. This has relieved; though it has not taken away the soreness nor the recurrence of the strangulation effect. These need, then, the Packs, the Oil, and the manipulative measures, and the diet.
(Q) Any exercise that he should take in the meantime? (A) The body is most too weak to take any strenuous exercise; though a little walking is helpful.
(Q) What eliminant is best for this body? (A) The Salts and a Senna base, - these alternated are the better.
(Q) Would being in the salt water of the ocean help at this time? (A) The conditions that arise from the natural tendencies of the body are not compatible with the salt water; though such WOULD be helpful if there are long periods of rest from the psychic influence. Psychic forces and water go together, but not IN each other!
(Q) Should the body rest from the Readings at this time? (A) This depends upon whether there are the periods of the ability for same, and the needs of the conditions that arise. When suffering, or under strain, as we have given, there should NOT be the attempts.
