This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at the office of the Association, Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 20th day of June, 1944, in accordance with request made by self - Mrs. [3051], Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research and Enlightenment, Inc.

1. GC: You will have before you the entity, [3051], present in this room, who seeks information, advice and guidance, in a mental and spiritual reading, concerning her mental, material and physical problems and the manner in which she may best meet them in the present life. You will answer the questions she submits, as I ask them:

2. EC: Yes, we have the body, the enquiring mind, together with those problems which are karmic experiences of the soul entity; thus carrying with same its problems through this given experience.

3. In analyzing the body-mind, also those purposes and ideals which have been and may be the ideals of this entity; One, as this entity, learns by experience that there are things in which the entity may apply itself and there are things and conditions in which the entity may not apply itself. Yet the Lord thy God is one. Thus these few, simple rules may apply in the experience of this entity:

4. First, ye must believe that God is. Thus ye may believe that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him, in opening, in interpreting the experiences of the entity in this life to a more perfect understanding. Know there is the straight and narrow way. They who seek same may find Him, but there must be the application of self towards the ideals presented through those very impulses which brought this to bear in thy experience. Thus may it be summed up, as ye would that others should do to you, do ye even so to them. This is the law and the prophets.

5. These activities, then, bring definite experiences for the body. But these should not be sought other than as that which may indeed be a lesson to the body, and thus fulfill all of those obligations created by faltering in the activities in the earth, if these are applied in the light of Christian faith as may be set, is set, by the Master himself.

6. Study, then, to show thyself approved unto God, a workman not ashamed, rightly dividing the words of truth and keeping self unspotted from the world. These be the manners.

7. Ready for questions.

8. (Q) Is levitation possible for this body and how may I attain it without injury to this body? (A) Levitation is possible for the body, but not through the activities of self. Through transmutation of ideas into ideals, and the tenets or truths as the basis there may be brought levitation of the spiritual self, not the material.

9. (Q) Since all disease is caused by sin, exactly what sin causes the colon and elimination condition? (A) The sin of neglect. Neglect is just as much sin as grudge, as jealousy, - neglect.

10. (Q) Since feet have not responded to physical efforts, please give spiritual or any other cure. (A) Keep in that same path which has been given but looking not to self, but to Him for the walking in the straight and narrow way.

11. (Q) What originally started unbalanced condition of this body? (A) It isn’t so much what has been. What would you do about it in the present? These have been indicated spiritually, mentally and materially, will ye apply them? Or will ye mistrust them, or will ye just neglect them?

12. (Q) What is the best time for this body to meditate - give suggestion. (A) 2:00 in the morning is the best time.

13. (Q) How can I best overcome impatience and what causes such impatience? (A) Neglecting to keep the law. Study to show thyself approved. This is the first principle set, isn’t it? Then apply it in first being patient with self.

14. (Q) Could inspirational writing be successfully accomplished by this body and if so how best develop it? (A) Would it be advisable? No! It may be accomplished, but not best.

15. (Q) Is there anything in particular I can do now to accomplish the reason for present incarnation? (A) If there hadn’t been you wouldn’t be allowed to be in the earth in the present! These become self-evident facts in themselves, or should, to those who apply themselves: Belief in God, belief in self, belief in the divinity of man’s relationship to God, accomplished for, by and through one, Jesus the Christ. The belief, the faith, the doing of that thy hands find to do which is in accord with, in compliance with His desires, gives reason, gives purpose, accomplishes that. For what were His words? “Father, I come to thee, I have finished the work thou gavest me to do.” Hast thou finished the work He gave thee to do; hast thou sought to know the work? Hast thou walked and talked with Him oft? It is thy privilege. Will ye?

R1. 7/20/44 [3051]‘s letter to EC:

“I have been waiting ‘til my feet were on the ground before writing you. However so much has happened I feel that I can’t wait any longer. First I want to thank you for my sister’s check physical [3379], I’m sure it takes care of everything. As she takes care of my mother it is necessary nothing happen to her. She is one of those people, I’m afraid, one just takes for granted and expect never to be tired or ill. Therefore it was a great shock to us.

“She being the oldest of the family, has a great responsibility. At least my mother taught her that she had to set an example for the rest of us. We younger ones naturally took advantage and thought we could do as we pleased BUT she had always to set the example. She has tried hard and now I want the best for her, every happiness AND to be free to come to the Congress too.

“It keeps getting harder to leave you each time we meet, must be a hangover from the Egyptian period when I followed you into banishment. [2982] and I felt we were going into banishment when we left you.

“I have been thinking a great deal about the Congress. This is my second. The most outstanding impression of the first one was the inspiration I received, from you mostly and then the other contacts in general. It didn’t leave me altogether but lasted through the year, for which I was most grateful, being so far away from you all. This year however, I haven’t been able to grasp yet the understanding I received. I’m going around in circles. As if that wasn’t enough we’ve been having experiences. No doubt [2982] told you about the one on the boat, where the saints of most of the countries of the world were with us and the happenings. Good thing we had a witness in the form of Margaret Hall or we both might have doubted our wits. That was only the beginning and since [2982] must have written and your mail is heavy I won’t repeat.

“Sufficient to say we’re still going and after telling my husband he looked at the both of us, [2982] came down to be with us, and said he was beginning to think he had to put the both of us ‘AWAY’. However he became very serious and wanted proof of what we had to say AND HE GOT IT.

“I had been praying for a spiritual awakening for him and understanding. Being so active in business he doesn’t have much time or energy left for spiritual things and it was my desire to grow together in this work. I had hoped he would make the Congress and then I had an idea it would happen there. You know the rest, the invasion occurred and the market does strange things, so his sense of duty won over me and he stayed. I almost felt as if the world had been taken from under my feet but after being with you a few days I had the feeling that all was well and it didn’t please me for all I saw was he wasn’t there at the moment.

“If [2982] hasn’t told you what happened to [3436], neither am I at the moment. I think he wants to talk to you sometime himself. Perhaps it seems mean of me to lead up to something and not tell it all but on the other hand you have had so much happen to you, you might know already or it might not seem so outstanding to you, in comparison.

“This I can say, it has made a great difference in him and has changed his whole world of thought and action. Where before he was groping and wasn’t quite sure of many things, now he KNOWS. I’m happy beyond words. Everything would be perfect except for the news from you.

“It is too bad you have to give up the work but you have done so much and given so much, it is time some thought was given to you. I’m sure our prayers and work in the cosmic color will have its usual effect BUT do you think it wise to go back again, the way you were going and have these things happen to you over and over.

“I feel a personal responsibility as I am one of the many that needed and took from you, perhaps more than you could afford to give. So hurry up and be yourself, not that you go back to the grind but that our period of being conscience stricken be limited and we again can feel sure of at least a letter from you, now and then. I need them and you can imagine how many others feel the same way.

“I want to rectify what I think might be an injustice to Reilly. A long time ago I spoke to him about my eyes and that they seemed to be getting worse. He then told me to ask in my ck. IF adjustments would help. Unwittingly I asked the question this way, Reilly asked if adjustments are necessary? The answer came back that adjustments were necessary and went along to give where, etc. A note at the bottom told me to take these from one in sympathy IF I didn’t have it where I was. Since that time I have noticed people were being sent to a Mr. Coulter.

”[…] took her small son [3558] there and didn’t like the results. On her own she then went to Reilly and has been having wonderful results. Reilly charges more is the only thing that I’ve heard that would cause anyone to leave there in preference to anyone else.

“So, I too went to another for the adjustments. This man is studying metaphysics and has a wonderful following and charges only three dollars, Reilly charges five. He adjusts with a vibrator on each hand. It feels wonderful and having poor circulation, I thought I was doing wonderfully. However, the eyes seemed to get worse and I couldn’t study, or read in comfort and they would burn and water. The only time I had any peace with them was when I was asleep. It frightened me and I couldn’t help but wonder, no matter how I tried, if I might not be going to lose them! I don’t think you’ve had time to see my ck. physical but I’m happy to say it came forth before the questions were asked and stated: There was LACKING IN THE ADMINISTRATIONS GIVEN of the coordinating the centers where cerebrospinal and sympathetic make their greater connection to the organs of the sensory system, and thus the vision has apparently at times grown worse, rather than better.

“In answering the question number two it said the reason I hadn’t had the demonstration was because quote: ‘Here these, as we find should have been corrected rather than allowing A STIMULATION that has hindered.’ I take it the adjustments with the vibrators caused the stimulation which hindered the recovery. I’ve had one adjustment from Reilly since then and I’m going to a man here this afternoon in … by the name of Rudnick [Macy M. Rudnick, D.O.], for the rest while I’m in Jersey. He is very busy and supposed to be one of the best. I’m sure now I’m on my way.

“My sister [3379] asked me to ask you about her reading, she didn’t understand what it meant by a homeopathic physician. In the beginning of the reading it says to have the attention of an osteopathic gynecologist who will correct the position of the conditions of the uterus or womb itself and REMOVE those pressures, in setting up better conditions. Does this mean the doctor will CUT away those conditions and stitch it in place, if so why is he called homeopathic? She thought the word implied that didn’t believe in surgery. Then it adds later, we would also use homeopathic tendencies towards that to restrain dropsical conditions, which has become a particular cause of these pressures in the body. If you can clarify these I’ll see that everything is done. I’m taking her along with me this afternoon to discuss it with this osteopath Rudnick, I told you about and he may be able to do it or suggest who can. His sign reads osteopath so I wouldn’t know his methods yet. However I’ll feel safer with your interpretation.

“This is a long letter, I hope you’ll forgive its length. I’ll be waiting to hear how well you are taking care of yourself and how you are doing. Make it a happy time on your trip, wherever it is and know our best thoughts and love will be with you. Each time I open my eyes to see something striking or beautiful or try to read my bible or a beautiful verse, I think of you. Not only for what you are doing for me but all those others. If love alone could heal, you’d never be ill.

“I haven’t a pen here at the beach. My hit and miss method of typing is so poor, I’m wondering if you can read some of the words. I’m so excited, it doesn’t help trying to control my fingers. I seem always to be transposing letters, getting the horse before the cart, etc. I do hope you get the general idea though.”
