This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 115 West 35th Street, Virginia Beach, Va., this 18th day of July, 1929, in accordance with request made by self - Miss [307], via Mr. […].

Born June 6, 1878, Union, Hertford County, North Carolina. Time of Reading 3:30 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. (Life Reading Suggestion)

1. EC: Yes, we have the entity here. In entering we find astrologically the entity coming under the influences of Mercury, Venus, Uranus, and Neptune. These from the astrological aspects and influences, bring - and will bring - rather exceptional conditions in the experience of the entity. However, these may be materially changed by the application of self’s will as respecting the contacts as the entity makes and the influence environment is allowed to make upon will.

2. Without respect and with respect the will in the present experience, which gives much of the personality, plus the individuality of the entity:

3. One that is circumspect in all points, and is governed by rule of same. This is a condition that to most people who are born in June would be different, for there are those peculiar conditions surrounding even the advent of this entity into the earth’s experience at this time.

4. In the influences, then, plus will, we find:

5. One that in mental capacities is above the ordinary. In the strength of character exceptional. In the ABILITIES of the entity in measures of mental and spiritual forces above the ordinary.

6. One that may give much in the present experience through precept, and precept.

7. One that may give much also through the application of the truths as are gained by self, and

8. One whose influence will live long after the entity has passed from the present experience, even building again upon the experiences of self through the earth’s plane if chosen so by the entity.

9. One that will do well to keep self in accord with the ennobling influences as attained in Jupiterian influence, and keep balance in this material plane through those influences in Uranus and Neptune, bringing through these elements that - while occult and mysticism may bring strength in the measure where SELF may apply same - but will the entity so ground those in the ABILITIES of others that they, the others, do not wrest with to their own destruction. While the influence of the occult and the mysteries in nature, in the universe, in universal forces, are wonderful in their magnitude and in those elements that make up material or HUMAN experience; yet these oft partake so much of that in the material plane termed fanatical, that, unless one is well grounded one LOSES self in the maze even of experience; yet grounded in that of truth in self, and relationships of the creative energy with the application OF the truths IN human experience, brings the understanding that enables one to impart to others the strength of the self as pertaining to such experience.

10. In the experiences may be seen much that terms the individual INDIVIDUAL. The entity is a personality in an exceptional manner. While there are the variations in the experience, the experiences themselves are such as to magnify the application in the present experience of experiences spent in a DEVELOPMENT that is beyond many with whom the entity has associated, will, or does associate in the present experience.

11. In the experience, then, before this, we find in that period when there were changes being made in the land now known as England. The entity then was among those who aided that individual called Alfred the Great to make and give to man many of the tenets of self-government, of self being accountable to self for the acts of the physical body. The entity then in the name Isabella, and the entity gained through this experience in the manner in which the self was given to aid the young in understanding how the application of the truth as gained, as seen, might be made applicable in the experiences of the period; acting in the capacity of the scribe to that ruler, teaching in the day of the lessons gained through self-government. In the present experience the entity finds much of that of law and order throughout its life, its experience. Evidences of this may be often seen in the home, in the school, in the places where the ENTITY may reside. Also there is seen much of the activity of the ABILITY in self to bear and forbear with others.

12. In the one before this we find in that period when the Master walked among men. The entity then among the friends of those that lived near Bethany, and WAITED with those upon the Master during that period. In the name Elois. The entity gained much through this experience, suffered much for the good given others in understanding, bore much of the troubles and sorrows of those about the Cross when sorrowing was among the Master’s friends. The entity in the present experience finds all such teachings not WHOLLY as the entity FEELS same, and the expressions of the Master as recalled finds a place in the life in an exceptional manner, but NOT as is termed in this day orthodox; and the entity feels at times these are at an at-variance with that felt, yet keep the faith as was builded and as is innate in self, for the UNDERSTANDING is great. Apply same in the manner as is shown thee from day to day, or period to period.

In the one before this we find in the land now known as Egypt, when there had been the rebuilding of the destructive forces through divisions, and the establishing of the schools, the hospitals, the homes, the tabernacle, the temple. The entity came then in the close of this period as the armor bearer (in the same sex, but in the armor bearer) to the teacher who arose after this king’s command was released. In the name Islao. The entity gained through this period. Lost in the latter portion of the experience when given power, given might, turning same into satisfying of selfish desires. 14. In the application of that to which the entity may attain:

15. As seen, much may be gained, much may be given by the entity in the present experience. Keep self well balanced in that gained in the Bethany home, and keep the activities of ALL in accord with the lessons gained there, and there will come through the ministry of self’s own mental abilities an UNDERSTANDING of how the self is raised unto glory to glory through the manifestations of the spirit of Him who gave, “The bride saith come.”

17. (Q) What is the entity best fitted to do? (A) Teach and minister to those that are wandering afield in thought as “What Is Truth.”

18. (Q) Where should the body work this winter? (A) New York!

19. (Q) In what capacity? (A) In aid to the teachers of that city, place, or among the groups that give the spiritual understanding to a weak minded folk.

“I thank you for the blanks and the consideration on my part in regard to the reading. Really I do not know what to call it. It is not to find a gold mine, or where an oil well is, but to find myself. Not that I am not all right, am happy and would be perfectly willing to carry on just so, until I too had my ‘reward’ for the deeds DONE WHILE IN THE FLESH, but I am wondering since I had my life’s reading if I am not destined for something more beneficial to those with whom I am associated. I want to convince them that I am not so visionary after all. Then too, there has always been SOMETHING that I not only wish to express, but to demonstrate.

“I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW, if I carried out fully my work in N.Y. while I was there, way to and purpose of the work I am now destined to do. My relationship to the New Organization, and other questions that may come up later.

“I am now on my vacation (I have been doing social work here, you know, with the Norfolk United Charities) and would be very glad to get the reading this week, but I will have to pay you when I get back to work, and I do not feel I can ask this favor when the association is now so young and is needing the support of all as perhaps never before in the financial way.” [She submitted questions - see at end of 307-3, [Par. We are certainly of one accord in appreciating the High Calling that you are making it possible for us to experience.
