This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 115 West 35th Street, Virginia Beach, Va., this 22nd day of August, 1929, in accordance with request made by self - Mrs. [303], via her sister, Miss [307].

1. EC: Yes, we have the entity, [303], and those relations with the universe and universal forces, as are latent and exhibited in the present entity.

2. In entering, astrologically, or innately, we find those influences in Venus - with adverse in Mars and Neptune, with influences in Jupiter, Mercury and Uranus. In this astrological influence, then, we have much that has to do with the influence in physical conditions with the body, and these coming in those signs that influence same find that there are periods through each cycle wherein some influenced towards the physical bring to the body those of changes, physically and mentally. In the influence as seen in Venus, we find the body one loving in disposition or temperament, yet ever fearful or ever mindful of influences that have to do with Mars’ influence in the earth’s plane. Hence one that may be termed cautious in the likes and dislikes, not allowing self often to express self verbally in the feelings as relating to individual - whether of own or opposite sex, and this oftentimes brings WITHIN the experience of the entity those conditions that are kept submerged, and at times trouble the mental proclivities of the entity.

3. In those influences as related to Jupiterian with those of the earth, we find one noble in activity - yet EXTREMES at times, frowning at those elements that would to some be ennobling, and EASY or smiling on influences that to OTHERS would NOT be wholly in keeping even WITH good logic or good judgement; yet in the influences with those of Mercury as influenced WITH Uranian, bring the mental ability that conflicts at times with others, bringing to the entity those of decided tendencies in certain directions - especially in the direction of those things that have to do with the spiritual side of life - or things; making, then, one that can easily become classified as orthodox, or decided in views in directions that it would be hard to change the entity in the beliefs.

4. As to the reasoning forces, of those that come as the innate forces in the activities of the body, we find rather those of THINGS than of individuals are interesting to the body. Then, in the matter towards tendencies of the secular or business nature interest the entity, rather than those of the MENTAL, and have to do with the spiritual - for, to the entity, spiritual must be taken as truth, irrespective of reason - while to others whom the entity may associate with, it appears that in the entity’s application of those influences as being ennobling things to the body - these become as reasons, yet the entity applies same as that which IS without reason.

6. In the first, we find the entity was in that land now known as England; during that period of that ruler known as Alfred the Great. [[848]? - [900]] The entity then was among those who were of the court of the ruler and among those who assisted in the copying of records as were kept. STILL there may be seen those writings, even as penned by the entity during that period. In the name Clarie. The entity gained and lost through that experience - gaining in the application of self towards giving an understanding to those that were not versed in the new order of conditions - losing in using influence gained to the satisfying of own personal interests. In the experience in the present, this is that influence that is often called prim, set, decided, exacting in the entity’s activities. 7. In the one before this we find in that period in the building of the city on the hills Rome?]. [10/5/33 See little grandson’s rdg. 415-1, Par. 39-A indicating he had been associated with her in the Persian period. Time of Uhjltd.] The entity then was among those who were of the low lands, that came not as conquerors, but rather as settlers of the land and of the period. Still in activities the entity gained, for the in building of the home, the worship, the place of gathering, the entity influenced such during that period in the gatherings of the peoples to understand the application of rule, law, and understanding of relations of individuals with others, as regarding holdings, lands, properties, and such. In the name Romala. The entity gained through this experience, and in the present would have made the entity, as is innately felt, that of a good lawyer - or associate of one. The entity is an INTERPRETER of law, innately FEELING same often, as applying either to individuals or to land holdings especially. 8. In the one before this we find in that land now known as Egypt. The entity then was among those during the period that were banished with the priest Ra-Ta] who set self as both the lawgiver and the lawmaker, and in the exile the entity lost. In the return, gained - for the entity was of those who, with the priest of the period, made much of the temple worship, especially as related to the tithing or giving of the peoples during that period. The entity was in the name Islex. In the present, this the entity finds as regarding secular things, as pertaining to moneys, the demanding of an exacting account in every direction, whether with self, or with others, and especially as related to those of the spiritual side of the experience.

9. In the one before this we find in that period known as the Atlantean - in Poseida. The entity was among those in the temple worship of the period. In that period the entity gained much through the application of self to the interests of the people, and became among those that were afterwards worshipped by the people, until the destruction of same through the inundations of the lands, brought on by the people themselves. The entity then was in the name Ellm. In that experience the entity gained in the application of self towards the aid given others.

10. In the abilities of the entity in the present, these - as seen - lie in the direction of things, rather than people. Application of people TOWARDS things, rather than the application of peoples towards thought or towards mental abilities. In that direction, then, in giving data, lists, or stabilizing thought as relating one to another, will the entity find the greatest experience and the greatest development for self. Ready for questions.

11. (Q) Where is the husband of the entity? (A) We haven’t the husband.

12. (Q) Should the entity communicate with him? (A) We have not him here.

13. (Q) Is it best for the body to work at the same place as it now is working? (A) Very good.

14. (Q) What is the entity best fitted for? (A) As given.

15. (Q) Is the husband dead? (A) We haven’t the husband.

Miss [307] had given up her teaching job to stay home and take care of the children, knowing that Mrs. [303] would be happier in the business world and be better able to throw off her depression from being deserted by her husband, etc. [A few years later we heard that her husband had been located; [See 303-6, Par. 13-A]; that he had remarried.
