-
GC: You will give the present physical condition of this body, with suggestions for further corrective measures, and answer the questions that may be asked.
-
EC: Yes - we have the body here, [308].
-
As we find, conditions show much improvement.
-
While there are real warnings yet to be taken, if there are the precautions there should be little trouble in the body’s regaining its strength and vitality.
-
There is a strain upon the general nervous system, the lack of proper activity owing to the debilitation and the lack of the effects of the fever being OUT of the system.
-
Yet with proper precautions, and caution, we find that the body should build back. As we have indicated, it is more in the nursing now - as in all conditions of the nature - and the taking of the precautions - that would make for the body’s responding.
-
First, then, do not take ANY water that is not boiled - until the body is able to be about, and in a near normal condition. This would mean that it may be iced afterwards, of course.
-
Also ices of most any nature may be taken, especially sherbets. Also ice cream in moderation may be taken.
-
Vegetable juices, vegetables cooked in their OWN salts and not in water proper - cooked rather in Patapar Paper would be preferable. All of those that carry the salts, as the vegetable salts; such as beans, lentils, cabbage (especially red cabbage) and all natures - but cooked in their own juices, and the juices as much as or more than the vegetables STILL taken!
-
Beef juice, but not in large quantities! It may be taken very often; twenty to thirty minutes apart, but not more than a teaspoonful at a time - and this chewed, as it were, or sipped; not gulped as a drink of water.
-
Beware of too much of milk or those natures until the system has gained more strength; though ices or the ice cream may be taken - but in moderation.
-
Meats - fowl, especially wild fowl - and these in broths, NOT fried! Fish broiled, but not too much of these.
-
These may be taken, as the rest, rather often; or make four or five meals a day rather than three.
-
And if these precautions are taken, we should find the greater increase.
-
It would be well for the body to be massaged or rubbed with cocoa butter or olive oil, especially along the spine - downward - and across the abdomen and across the sacral and lumbar areas.
-
Do these, and as we find we may bring the better conditions for the body.
-
Ready for questions.
-
(Q) From what source did she get the germ that caused this fever? (A) Foods not perfectly good.
-
(Q) Have the treatments been followed correctly? (A) Partially; not wholly.
-
(Q) Should enemas be given every day? (A) Not unless the bowels do not move. Best to take oils, especially olive oil. This does not mean large quantities, but taken so the system absorbs same, see?
And if once a day a Charcoal Tablet is taken, this will be well to absorb poisons and set the tone or tuning of the intestinal system the better.
-
(Q) What makes the pulse so low? Is 50 too low, considering the condition? (A) Fifty is too low. It is the weakness of the body. If the massages are taken and the diets, keeping the body quiet, we will find conditions improving.
-
(Q) In what minerals is the body lacking? (A) Not so much in the minerals as in the balancing of same, or the system being able to assimilate. Hence as indicated, rather than the dilution by the vegetables cooked in water, cook them in their own juices - taking these so that there are the minerals added.
Beware, of course, of corn - and fruits; these are not to be taken as yet.
-
(Q) Would it be well to cut her hair short? (A) This is to be a choice in self.
-
(Q) Would it grow out any better? (A) This is to be a choice in self.
-
(Q) When the body is free from this condition, should it still have the osteopathic treatments as suggested sometime ago? (A) This would be WELL! These are necessary forces to create a perfect balance.
-
(Q) Please give me a thought for meditation that will help me at this time? (A) CREATE WITHIN ME A PERFECT MIND, O GOD! WITH THE DESIRE AND THE PURPOSE TO USE MY LIFE, MY TALENTS, MY GIFTS, IN THY SERVICE!
LET MY GOING IN, MY COMING OUT, BE ACCEPTABLE IN THY SIGHT. AND AS I MEDITATE, BE THOU NIGH UNTO ME.
- We are through with this Reading.

Reports
Reports & Follow-up
R1. 4/2/39 Mother [585] reported: “After following 308-6 she gained strength and weight very rapidly and hasn’t been sick since.
“A trained nurse who had a cottage nearby for the summer showed me the correct way to bathe her, to massage her and to give her enemas. She also said that [308] acted just as a typhoid convalescent patient would act while she was regaining her strength and that there was no doubt but that [308] did have a case of typhoid.
“At that time I was working and gone from home all day. My daughter had been fixing her own food, which was kept in an old ice box - which would get hot when the ice would get low. Evidently she got the germ in spoiled food from the ice box. No one else in the vicinity had typhoid fever, in any case. When school opened she was well enough to start back to school.
“She wouldn’t cut her hair, but it never has been as pretty as it was before.
“Milk never did agree with [308], so this was not used in her diet.”
R2. 11/22/39 She obtained 308-7 especially for fainting spells, shortness of breath.
Background
Background
B1. See 308-5 on 8/4/38 for what the doctor called either typhoid or pus on kidneys.
B2. 8/11/38 Mother phones: “No temperature since Sat., but has a pulse of 50 - nurse says it should be between 72-84; it was 56 Sat. and is now - tonight - 50.” She submitted questions, including: “What precautions should be taken to prevent others from getting the germ? Should the drinking water be boiled? Please suggest what foods or nourishment should be given, and at what intervals? Would ice cream or sherbet be alright? Should the body drink milk? What is the best laxative or purgative for this body?”
