This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 4th day of October, 1938, in accordance with request made by the self through husband - Mr. [228], Active Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

Time of Reading 10:45 to 10:55 A. M. Eastern Standard Time. …, Alabama.

1. GC: You will give the physical condition of this body at the present time, with suggestions for further corrective measures; answering the questions that have been submitted, as I ask them.

2. EC: Yes, we have the body, [313].

3. As we find, the acute conditions in the present are not a part of the GENERAL condition.

4. But owing to the anxieties, the unbalanced condition existent in the assimilating forces of the body, the present effects arise more from an acute attack of congestion from poisons in the system.

5. To reduce the temperature, as well as the inflammation through the abdomen and colon specific, we would use Grape Poultices; preferably Concord Grapes. Crush same and put between gauze, at least half an inch thick, with a heavier cloth on top, and apply directly to the abdominal area. Make the Pack sufficiently large to cover the whole area of the colon and abdomen, you see. Let it remain until warm from the body heat, or as hot as the body, see? then change and put on a fresh Pack. It should not be necessary, in this particular case, for more than two such Poultices.

6. We would also use body-temperature enemas of a saline solution, with a little soda.

7. These as we find, with the general precautions and care, should eliminate these disturbances in the present.

8. Of course, until there is the better adjustment and the feeling of improvement, no foods except liquids or semiliquid foods. Orange juices or citrus fruit juices, gruels, soups or of such natures.

9. Do this as we find for the immediate conditions; using the GENERAL applications and the more specific [as given in 313-15] for the conditions through the pelvic organs.

10. Ready for questions.

11. (Q) What will aid digestion and quiet nerves? (A) Just as indicated, the reduction of the temperature and the use only of easily assimilated foods.
