[Edgar Cayce; Gertrude Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno.]
Time of Reading … Photo Shop, 3:35 to 3:50 P. M. Eastern War Time. …, New York.
-
GC: You will have before you the body and enquiring mind of [315], … Photo Shop …, N.Y., who seeks information, advice and guidance, as to his health, his life and work. You will consider the entity’s desire to enlist in the capacity for which he is best fitted to serve his country at this time, and advise him as to the proper channels; answering questions he submits, as I ask them:
-
EC: Yes, we have the body, the enquiring mind, [315], this we have had before.
-
As we find, physical conditions are very good in many respects; much better than that as we have had here before.
-
Ready for questions.
-
(Q) What causes and what should be done for the following: Headaches? (A) These arise from indiscretion in the eating and in the activities at times. However, if the proper precautions are taken as to diet, these should disappear, if there is kept a very good eliminant for a period, and then a rest period, and then taking the eliminant again. Such as Upjohn’s Citrocarbonate, taken every morning for five days, left off for five days, and then taken again.
-
(Q) Colds? (A) The same things will also aid in keeping down the acidity, and the colds arise from the acidity.
-
(Q) Aches near lumbar area - left side? (A) This is a part of the congestion from cold, and the exercise that has been indicated, or may be given here in the present, would eliminate these. But if there is the joining into the service, as indicated to be considered, much of those activities that will be given, - much of those that will be given as inoculations for the body, when it has recovered from same, - will do away with many of these disturbances that are a part of the conditions in the present. But the regular exercises that will be taken at such periods will be well for the body.
-
(Q) Hurting of eyes? (A) These will also be considered, as glasses will be fitted.
-
(Q) Regarding the Service? In just which branch should I enter? (A) As a technician in the photo service; either map making, map reading, or preparations, or activities of any of the photo service would be the better branch, - for the body to keep in line with those actions and ideals of the body in the present.
-
(Q) Through what channels should applications be made? (A) Through those same channels as are set aside for such activities, as the technician in that particular department.
-
(Q) Any spiritual advice? (A) Do not enter the service or that branch of it with the ideal of any escape from self, but as a purposefulness; representing or meeting the hopes and desires of the body.
Then act that way, forgetting not - daily - from Whom all hope, all life, all love comes; and being - in activity, in relationships - one that would manifest these ideals and purposes in the relationship to thy fellow man; keeping self from condemning any; condemning not, as ye would not be condemned.
- We are through for the present.

Reports & Follow-up
R1. 12/15/42 “Just rec’d your lovely book THERE IS A RIVER] and it sure is beyond my expectation. Am very fortunate to have it as one of my ‘must read’ books.
“I am to be inducted into the U.S. Army soon, and as you know will do my very best to be a good soldier. Although I might have been a Tech. Sgt. in the U.S. Marines - passed everything and was accepted, then they cancelled all enlistments. Perhaps it’s for the best, though disappointing nevertheless. I trust that I will be able to follow through according to my last rdg.
“Thank you very much for all you have done, and may I always be able to hold your friendship.”
R2. 7/1/43 Mrs. [428] wrote about [315] coming home on furlough, wanting a ck. rdg., etc. [See under 428-15 Reports.]
R3. See subsequent notations in re work, etc., under Life Rdg. 315-4 Reports.
R4. 7/5/43 “My body feels fair, but sometimes I get pains in the chest and a very unsteady tremble of arms and legs in general… I don’t wear glasses - feel I don’t need them any more. Just generally nervous so that I can’t think straight. Perhaps what I really need is a complete change again, but it’s the same old questions - how? when? where? What does it all mean?”
R5. 9/6/43 See 315-9 giving further advice on his work, etc., and in Par. 10-A advising as to his health. He was urged to keep up the suggestions previously made, keeping a better balance in eliminations and the assimilation.
