1. GC: You will give the physical condition of this body at the present time, with further suggestions for corrective measures; answering the questions, as I ask them:

2. EC: Yes.

3. As we find, conditions are on the improve. The congestions or the spasmodic reactions that occur are less and less, but there is not the breaking up of all the adhesions in the lacteal duct areas.

4. We would continue to use occasionally the Castor Oil Packs; and at least once every ten days we would have the osteopathic manipulation.

5. This is a good osteopath - don’t lose him!

7. (Q) Is there hope for permanent cure? (A) Are you praying about it? Are you living like that you would like for it to be? This is the answer! Is there hope? So long as thy faith in the divine cannot be shaken, there is hope! Life is the manifestation of God. He alone can forgive sins. Sin is in thine own surroundings as well as the entity meeting itself. There is hope.

R1. 11/24/47 Grandmother’s letter:

Mr. Hugh Lynn Cayce, Virginia Beach, Va.

Dear Mr. Cayce:-

I have just talked with Dr. Henry George on the telephone and he has suggested that I write you. He asked if he might send you my letter to him, which will tell the story, but for your information, here it is:-

About five years or so ago, after reading “There is a River”, I wrote to Mr. Cayce and, asked for a physical reading for my little grandson [3156], then about six years old, and who had developed epilepsy and was having very frequent night attacks. The reading came, recommended osteopathic treatments and hot oil packs over the lacteal gland or duct, these to be given so many nights, then discontinued for five nights and repeated. My daughter - the child’s mother - followed the instructions religiously for six months. There was slight improvement but [3156] continued to have attacks. She took him to Johns Hopkins for examination, he was put on a strict ketonic diet for a year, which didn’t help. For the past year he has been taking dilantin, two capsules one day and three the next, and is free from the attacks. But the dilantin affects the gums, which have grown down over the teeth in a most disfiguring way and seriously affecting mastication.

On reading the October Bulletin of the Association and the reports of the work THE ASSOCIATION’S HEALTH SERVICE, by Henry George III], it occurred to me there might be some more recent remedy derived from the Cayce readings and if so we would desperately like to know about it or them. Dr. George mentioned the use of a passion flower powder or leaves and asked if that had been recommended. There was no mention of that in our reading and [3156] has never taken it.

I would certainly be most appreciative of any help or suggestions you can give us. If the passion flower preparation should be tried, will you kindly send me directions, also advise whether it can be used in connection with the dilantin, decreasing the dilantin gradually or whether they should not be used together. My daughter and family live in the little … town of …, Conn., and I would appreciate the name of any doctor or doctors who understand your father’s work and would work along those lines in helping [3156]. … is equally distant from …, Conn. and Mass. - if there should be anyone in either place it would be very convenient to contact them. We have joined the group at 50 State St., Boston, and it was through an article from there, and under a doctor’s direction, we first used dilantin for [3156].

If you will let me know what the charge is for the information and help, I will be only too glad to send a check to you or the Association for it. I am so anxious to do something to help this little grandson, and feel through your Association I am on the right track. Thanking you in advance, I am

R2. 12/15/47 HLC’s letter to grandmother:

Dear Mrs. […]

I was glad to have your letters of November 24th and December 11th. My delay in answering has been occasioned by my absence from the office.

I have gone over the two readings given for your grandson, [3156], and also the correspondence connected with the case.

May I call your attention to the opening of the first reading and the concluding questions in the second one. These statements indicate certain karmic tie-up between the parents and your grandson, and this makes it an even more difficult type of case to handle than one based purely on physical conditions.

In regard to this, I want to call your attention to the February ‘47 Bulletin [CHART OF AN EPILEPTIC - Case [543]]. (If you don’t have a copy, let us know and we will send one to you). This Bulletin gives some information on a similar type of case. I hope you will let us have any questions which this may raise in your mind as it is quite possible that through you, we may be able to establish better understanding of this condition with the parents and thus make the treatments easier and the results more complete.

I note from your daughter’s report that there was some improvement after the treatments outlined were begun, and also from the check reading, that the adhesions in the lacteal duct plexus (hand’s breadth from the naval and slightly upward on the right side of the stomach) were breaking up. The reading recommended a continuation of the oil packs as well as the osteopathic treatments every ten days. May I inquire just how often the suggestions were given to the boy as he went to sleep? I would like very much for your daughter to get in touch with Mrs. […] of …, Mass., who has had some remarkable success in giving suggestions to her son who had retarded development. Your daughter might be encouraged by this report.

I have two doctors to recommend. Unfortunately, we do not have anyone in either of the towns you mentioned. If your daughter prefers getting a physician in one of those places, I would suggest that she first get in touch with Dr. Charles R. Wakeling of 25 Linden Street, Reading, Mass., and have him recommend someone. However, he would be very much interested in giving the treatments himself and would be thoroughly sympathetic. I also believe you might get constant cooperation from Dr. Olive B. Williams of 703 Park Bldg., Worcester, Mass., though, if convenient, I believe Dr. Wakeling would be better.

You can secure a preparation of the passion flower solution from one of the local drugstores - Meredith Drug Company, 17th St., Virginia Beach, Va. If you wish to try this, I will be glad to have it prepared for you. It was given in a number of epileptic cases to replace the strong sedatives which are required.

I hope you will encourage your daughter to go back to a careful following of the oil packs, osteopathic treatments, and suggestions, and if desired, add also the passion flower solution which is not habit forming.

I sincerely hope we may be of help in this case. I am sorry your daughter is not close enough to Dr. George to have him handle the case.
