This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at the office of the Association, Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 21st day of February, 1944, in accordance with request made by the self - Dr. [3211], Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research and Enlightenment, Inc., via Mrs. [903].

Time of Reading 4:00 to 4:10 P. M. Eastern War Time. New York, N.Y.

1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body; answering the questions, as I ask them:

2. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [3211].

3. As we find, there are tendencies and inclinations that disturb the better physical functioning of the body. These conditions in some respects have existed for a long period and thus cause a great deal of disturbance at certain times. When the cycle of circulation or body-functioning changes, as in pressures that exist from lymph circulation, the condition becomes active periodically - yet the tendencies exist most of the time.

4. There are subluxations in the second and third dorsals. These deflect the circulation of nerve supply, and thus the blood to the bronchi and trachea. This causes a bronchial asthmatic disturbance.

5. Thus in the nerves of the face, the head, or the sinus and through the area, there is produced rose fever at times or hay fever that comes from any form of dust or pollen. While certain characters are more severe, any form produces a disturbance.

6. The injections that have been taken are very well, but they are not corrective measures - they are palliatives and may keep down the condition.

7. Even though these have long existed, we find that they may be gradually corrected if there will be sufficient of the osteopathic adjustments to cause a more perfect circulation, and if there will be used the low vibrations of static electricity or the heat treatment that may be had with certain types of electrical treatments - as the short wave, though it will require long periods.

8. The osteopathic adjustments should be taken periodically; say three to four treatments right along together each month. And for this body, if they are taken at the first quarter of the moon, it would be preferable. There should be long periods of these treatments - that is, periodically have these over a long period of time.

9. Use the Radio-Active Appliance to coordinate vibrations in the body-forces themselves. Apply this for an hour each day over a long period of time.

10. Also we would use the short wave electrical treatment for fifteen to twenty minutes twice in one week, three times the next week, over a long period of time.

11. In the diet, keep away from sweets, too much of starches of any character. Have carrots, onions, radishes, celery, lettuce often in the diet. Prepare these often with gelatin. Not that all of these should be taken every day necessarily, but some of these each day according to the appetite, but change their manner of preparation. This will aid in correcting these disturbances.

13. (Q) What causes and what could relieve occasional pain in back of neck? (A) This is from vocational conditions, holding the neck in one position for such long periods. The adjustments osteopathically, if taken regularly, should aid this particularly. These treatments should not be just to the area indicated but they should be general treatments with specific reference to those areas mentioned.

14. (Q) What is wrong with my eyesight? (A) There’s nothing wrong with the eyesight. This is a general condition from impairment to the activity of the organs of the sensory system. For these have been slowed by those pressures indicated. See, these are part of the nerves that supply association with the central circulation of nerve and blood supply to all the organs of the sensory system. Not only then does it affect the eyes and ears at times, but also the speech or the vocal cords. But these corrections should change all of these. It will take a long period, but the body can be materially aided.

15. (Q) Is artificial or daylight best for my work in the mouth? (A) Daylight, of course, is preferable, but with the present lighting system, there can be a light artificially produced that will be as restful to the eyes and as efficient.

16. (Q) How could tired feeling be overcome? (A) Rest more! But improve the general conditions, as indicated.

17. (Q) What climate is best for vacationing? (A) Arizona or New Mexico, or the southern coast of Florida or Calif.

18. (Q) What causes dryness or hair and how should it be treated? (A) Read all we have just been giving as to how the circulation affects all of the head.

Dear Mr. Cace [Cayce]:

On July 29th, 1943 I was present in the health reading for my son [3119-1 & 2], who had contracted polio. I was with your parents from morning till night for ten days during the various readings.

During the time I receive a life reading and health reading for my mother-in-law, Mrs. [3108] [See 3108-1 & 2], of … Avenue, Toronto, Canada. Mrs. [3108] had a condition called scleraderma, supposedly incurable. She was advised to see specialists in New York. The specialists thought that hormone injections might help, but were not sure of side effects.

We followed your father’s advise to the letter and after three months Mrs. [3108] went home to Toronto, cured. When the doctors examined her they thought it was a miracle.

My reason for writing to you at this time is due to the fact that I personally have an incurable dermatitis of the skin on my legs. The enclosed letter from Dr. Imparato speaks for itself. [See 3211-3.]

Your father, at the time of Mrs. [3108]‘s reading, prescribed a combination of three preparations which we used for her. I do not have a copy of the reading and therefore cannot guide myself.

I am enclosing my check of $50.00 for research, to please send me not only a copy of Mrs. [3108]‘s reading which may have taken place on july 29, 1943, or a day earlier or later, but all other readings you may have on skin caner and venous circulation for my enlightenment.

I am still active in my profession and hope to continue, please God.

Dear Dr. Siris:

Dr. [3211] was in the office this week with a complaint of swelling of both lower extremities for approximately five years.

The past history is of interest in that Dr. [3211] had an orchiectomy and is taking medication for a lesion of his prostate for approximately two to three years. The medication is described as Estanyl. He states categorically that the difficulty in his lower extremities antedates the trouble in the prostate. Essentially five years ago he began to develop swelling of both lower extremities, the right more so than the left. He was told that he had improper venous circulation. During the five year interval he began to develop some changes in the skin of the lower extremities consisting of thickening in pigmentation.

On physical examination there was pitting edema of both lower extremities basically from the knees to the feet. There were pigmented raised lesions of both legs, most prominent in the upper pre-tibial areas. There were hemorrhagic flat lesions of the thighs. There were no visibly dilated veins.

The remainder of the physical examination revealed that the liver edge was felt three fingers below the costal margin. The spleen was not felt. There were no abdominal masses. There were no enlarged lymph nodes. The digital rectal examination revealed only a slightly enlarged irregular prostate.

It was my impression from examining Dr. [3211] that he has infiltrating lesions of the skin of the lower extremities which show evidence of bilateral stasis dermatitis.

The diagnoses which I would entertain are neoplastic lesions such as Kaposi’s sarcoma, lymphangiosarcoma. I have not seen this type of lesion associated with simple post-phlebitic edema on an inflammatory basis.

It would be my suggestion that he have biopsis of the lesions of the lower extremities for careful histologic evaluation for neoplastic disease of the skin.

I would deem it a privilege to have a follow-up on Dr. [3211]. The antiedema measures which he should follow are relatively simple and consist of elevation of the lower extremities when possible and the wearing of eleastic supports.

Dear Dr. [3211]:-

Your letter of Oct. 27th was turned over to me by Hugh Lynn Cayce’s secretary, since he is away on a lecture tour and won’t be back for at least another week. I’m sorry to be so late in answering but I’ve been doing a little research work on your readings mentioned in your letter. It is so good to hear from you but I’m sorry to hear you are having physical difficulties. You have done so much to help the A.R.E. and the Edgar Cayce Foundation all these years, remaining a Sponsoring Member since the early forties and contributing time and again to every intimation of a need in promoting “the work.” It is certainly very fitting, and due you, that we find something in the records that can help you in your need.

Enclosed you will find a copy of the two readings you had for your mother-in-law, for the scleroderma which you say was cured. I am suggesting to Robert O. Clapp, Director of Membership Services, that he add her case to the Circulating File on Scleroderma. Dr. William McGarey, Director of the A.R.E. Clinic in Phoenix, has gotten some good results in treating new patients with the disease, using the Cayce methods.

Enclosed you will find also a copy of your own physical reading, given in February 1944. Of course your main difficulty at that time seemed to be asthma or hay fever, but I was amazed to find that in the beginning of the reading it mentioned pressures that exist from “lymph circulation”. Isn’t that something, considering the condition that has developed with you in the last few years? I notice also that Arizona and New Mexico were recommended for your vacationing periods. Now I feel strongly that you should get in touch with Dr. Wm. McGarey, A.R.E. Clinic, 4018 No. 40th St., Phoenix, Arizona 85018 to consult him about your condition and the prospect of following his suggested methods of treating based on the Edgar Cayce readings. Perhaps he can refer you to a sympathetic physician in your area who will help, or perhaps even your own personal physician would be willing to cooperate. Dr. Wm. McGarey is perfectly familiar with all the Circulating Files, and besides the Scleroderma file which I am asking Bob Clapp to send to you Dr. McGarey may be able to suggest other pertinent files. I am sending him, Dr. McGarey, a copy of these readings I’m sending to you and of your letter describing your condition, so that he will be familiar with the background and you will not have to repeat in writing him.

I am thinking and hoping that you may be the “guinea pig” for A.R.E. Clinic research which may benefit you and many others with similar ailments. God bless you.
