GC: You will give the physical condition of this body at the present time, with suggestions for further corrective measures; answering the questions, as I ask them:
-
EC: Yes, we have the body here, [324]; this we have had before.
-
As we find, conditions are somewhat improved from that as when we last had same here; yet there are disturbing factors as yet that have been a part of the disturbances for some time. These are the results of there not having been set up the eliminations from the activities of the organs of the sensory system, especially as to the soft tissue of throat and head. These were conditions first indicated, when information was first given respecting this body. [See 324-1.]
-
At times there have been improvements and better conditions, but gradually - as there has come from time to time cold and congestion, the unbalancing of the chemical forces of the body - there have been recurrent disturbances; and then an acute condition as indicated by the disturbances being carried through the general circulation.
-
Now, in the present, - there is STILL an impoverishment in the blood supply. There is less of that form of strep as indicated as being existent. This is now localizing more as a CATARRHAL condition in the soft tissue in portions of the throat and in those areas back of the ears.
-
This, to be sure, is AFFECTING the auditory sensitiveness, and without its being eliminated may cause thickening of tissue, or drying of the balance or the equilibrium that is kept by the oils in this portion of the body anatomically.
-
That is why either the jumping or riding, or certain character of noises, causes that feeling of dizziness to the body.
-
These drainages, then, need to be set up, to cause a better circulation to the head; and the eliminations kept somewhat above normal, so that through the alimentary canal there are two or more evacuations a day for at least two or three days of each week. Cause this by rather the fruit and vegetable changes in the diet than merely by cathartics; though cathartics may be necessary to be employed in part of the time for this condition, - and should be vegetable rather than mineral, so as to stimulate the activities of the glandular forces through the upper portions of the body, as in the thyroids; as well as the thymus and the glands in the activity of the pylorus as well as liver, spleen and gall duct activity.
-
As we find, then, in making administrations in the present:
-
At least twice each week we would have the osteopathic adjustments that, first, set up drainage from the area of the head and the neck, and the soft tissue of those portions of the body. Then, in the latter portion of the treatment (each treatment, you see), stimulate for better activity or circulation to nerve supply and blood flow - the centers in upper dorsal - from which these portions of the body receive their impulse. Also we would stimulate the better flow of lymph through the trachea, bronchi and lungs, by the sort of a PUMPING movement of same for a quick intake of the breath and the like - this is the correct movement or means for such, and should be a portion of the treatments.
-
These should be continued for at least ten days or two weeks. Then they may be left off a week or ten days, then they should be taken about once a week until ten or a dozen treatments have been given.
-
Also EACH day we would give the massage that has been given along the spine, in the rotary motion, - using an equal combination of Olive Oil and Peanut Oil. This is very helpful.
-
Then in the diet, and the properties to use as the eliminant:
-
At least once each day take a great deal of that which is as the BASIS of gelatine; that is, take the plain Knox Gelatin in fruit juices. As it is prepared, use about half of the quantity in one of the small envelopes that comes in a package, each day - though this may be divided into two or three times of taking same during the day, you see - stirred in the fruit juice. Then take the other half of the package the next day, you see, - and so on.
-
Take plenty of grapes, figs, raisins, prunes, and such natures; orange juice with a little lemon in it, and any of the juices - fruit juices - desired by the body.
-
These, as we find, will build up the body; that is, with plenty of chicken broth, chicken, fish and lamb, - but no fried foods. Vegetables, to be sure, should be a part of the diet also. Keep away from sweets, white bread and the like. Also leave off turnips or beets.
-
Each week carrots (preferably grated) and the like, WITH celery and lettuce, should be a part of the diet; not necessarily every day, but two or three times a week have the raw vegetables, especially including these.
-
Also occasionally have the Castoria as an eliminant, taken in small doses often.
-
We would continue the Grove’s Tasteless Chill Tonic periodically. Take it about three days during a week, see? but don’t take it three days in succession; take it say on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
-
The stimulations as from the vitamins in ADIRON we would keep. These as we find are the better manners of assimilation and of creating the better conditions for the distribution of that assimilated. Take one pellet each day at the evening meal - with the evening meal.
-
Do these. While requiring a little longer, it is much preferable to attempting to create such a stimulation by the high vibrations of electrical treatments, or X-Ray; for with a condition that is catarrhal, this would tend to produce adhesions or lesions that would produce DEFINITE conditions hard to deal with later - and would cause eventually deafness, or partially so to the body, as well as impediments in speech and the like. Hence we would keep away from such treatments, if these applications are adhered to as we have suggested here.
-
When conditions improve, do not give up much of the treatments - until the whole condition is eliminated.
-
Ready for questions.
-
(Q) Should sending her to school be stressed, regardless of her feelings? (A) No; she’s rather sensible. She knows when she feels badly enough to stay at home, and when to go to school! Don’t humor her too much, - but she’s sensible.
-
(Q) What should be done to eliminate the red spot on the nose? (A) This is not a blemish that will remain, but with the general system built up will gradually disappear. For local application, occasionally rub with JUST Castor Oil.
-
(Q) Has the infection gotten into the mastoid? (A) Read what has just been indicated. We have in the mastoid a CATARRHAL condition, see? And to eliminate it, set up drainages; and stimulate circulation, and use the properties for better eliminations - as in the foods, as in the fruits, as in the eliminants, AND the strengthening forces as in the Gelatin.
-
We are through with this reading.

Reports & Follow-up
R1. 12/6/40 GD’s note: Enclosed was a extra sheet [324-10?] for Dr. Hudgins.
R2. 11/7/68 Grandmother [413] reported that little [324] responded beautifully to the treatment and overcame her physical difficulties. She married at seventeen and bore normal, healthy children. She has remained in good physical condition to this day.
R3. 3/17/71 [324] died in a hospital at the age of 39.

12/28/76 GD’s note:
The following report was given me today on Mrs. [324] by her surviving aunt, Mrs. [578], and grandmother, Mrs. [413]:
3/5/71 [324] was taken to hospital emergency room because she couldn’t see - all of a sudden. She had been having trouble with her eyes from time to time, they bothered her more and more. That day she got her mother to drive her to the beauty shop, because she was having trouble with her eyes. When she got home she couldn’t see at all. At the hospital they gave her that test (dye in the veins) and the whole side was paralyzed; they gave it in the other side and she was dead from the neck up. They kept her in intensive care but she didn’t recover - died twelve days later, on 3/17/71. [Age 39, with five children; husband thought birth control pills might have had something to do with it, but the doctors didn’t say anything about that.] Her brother-in-law was an M.D. [[1775]‘s husband] and he found out that she died of a very rare ailment - thickening of the arteries - only nine cases in medical history that they have a record of. The veins thickened and closed up; too close to the brain to operate. [arteriocapillary fibrosis?] The brother-in-law said that on her case record the ailment was listed as Fibromuscular Hyperplasia.
R5. 12/30/76 GD’s note:
See 324-10, Par. 3 [when she was 9 years old] referring to 324-1 [when she was 3! when she nearly died from erysipelas, ear infection, etc.] and the subsequent recurrence of cold, congestion, childhood diseases, finally resulting in localizing of CATARRHAL condition in soft tissue of throat and back of ears which “without its being eliminated may cause thickening of tissue, or drying of the balance or the equilibrium that is kept by the oils in this portion of the body anatomically.” [324-10, Par. 6.]
Although I had indexed CATARRH:CURED on this reading [324-10, her last one], due to the fact that subsequent reports indicated she was fine and healthy, I now wonder if this catarrhal condition didn’t remain [chronic hyperthropic catarrh?] and become the cause of her death at age 39.
I notice in DORLAND’S ILLUSTRATED MEDICAL DICTIONARY - 23rd Edition - (Copyright 1957, W. B. Saunders Co.) that this word [catarrh] (“Inflammation of a mucous membrane, with a free discharge (Hippocrates)); especially such inflammation of the air passages of the head and throat…has been practically eliminated from the scientific vocabulary.”
We have about 300 index cards filed under catarrh, a term used in the readings. I think medical research should be done on all these patients who had this term used in their readings. It might help to prove what Dr. D. H. Fogel (M.D., heart specialist) said and believed when he spent a month studying the readings in 1952: That the medical information in the Edgar Cayce readings is not only true, but that it is so far ahead of its time that it will take generations for orthodox medicine to catch up; revolutionizing the whole study of physiology and anatomy.
