This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 115 West 35th Street, Virginia Beach, Va., this 1st day of December, 1928, in accordance with request made by her son, Mr. [257].

1. EC: Yes, we have the body here, Mrs. [325] - this we have had before. Now, while there are some accentuations of the troubles as have been apparent through the information given, we find the administration of the manipulations has assisted somewhat in making the conditions better. There is still those troublesome conditions from regurgitation in the lower portion of the stomach or the duodenum. In this reaction there is, through the hypogastric and pneumogastric plexus, that reaction as causes the body to react through the upper portion of stomach or through the cardiac orifice, that which causes this bitterness, or the rising to and through the esophagus those regurgitated conditions in the system. The taking of medicinal properties in this proportion at this time would aid materially in allaying (not in correction, but in allaying) of this trouble: We would, then, use this at this time, in this manner: To simple syrup 4 ounces, add:

Tincture Valerian…1/2 ounce, Elixir Calisaya…1/4 ounce, Tincture of Capsici…2 minims, Oil of Sassafras…20 minims, Compound Syrup of Sarsaparilla…1/4 ounce.

Shake solution well together, then add: Tincture Stillingia 20 minims. The dose will be half a teaspoonful at least twice each day. Shake solution before the dosage is taken.

2. We would also use hot applications when there is the tendency of dizziness, across the liver and lower end of stomach. This may be used as hot packs that are wrung from water, or it may be of the electric pad.

3. The manipulations or massage should be given at least every other day.

4. The wearing of the appliance Radium Double X] would aid, even though the body were not able to keep for any great length of time. Well that this be laid across the liver or the diaphragm region when the body rests, for even a few minutes at the time. Well that this be charged, before the application of same, in sunlight or strong daylight.

5. These applications, these conditions, will materially aid the correction for this body. Do that. Ready for questions.

6. (Q) Any special diet for this body? (A) Those conditions as have been outlined are well. Keep the body quiet, though it would be well were the body (with the recuperations as will come) to go West [to visit daughter [558] and family]. This will satisfy and bring rest for the body. Do not worry more than necessary. The trip would be well.

R1. 12/9/28 “Your dear letter came to console me as I was ill in bed with a very bad cold. I generally do not tell the children I am ill unless I have temperature and then I cannot help myself. I am alright again. I do worry a great deal about the boys’ welfare, but I know all will be well in time. We just must have patience. I am having the massage the readings spoke about, but no use in all of treatments if I must do household work, as I am growing old and cannot do the things a young woman must do. So I am taking an all day maid. I am feeling fine and do hope that your cold is all gone by this time. I will surprise you with a visit, so look for me. In the meantime run in to see me when you come to the city, as I am always glad to see you. Do hope that the hospital is progressing. Thanks so very much for the reading.”
