This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 8th day of July, 1937, in accordance with request made by the self - Mrs. [326], Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.
[Edgar Cayce; Gertrude Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno.]
Time of Reading … Ave., 3:35 to 3:40 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. …, Va. (Physical Suggestion)
-
EC: Yes.
-
As we find, while there are changes - good days and bad days - if precautions are taken as to eliminations these would make for a much better reaction for the system.
-
In taking the Olive Oil, take all the body will assimilate. Best that it be taken often; that is, two to three times a day, and only a quarter of a teaspoonful at a time; or just enough to start the saliva with the gastric flows that are begun by such in the system.
-
The stimulations from the Alophen are very good, but we would alter these occasionally; that is, one week take the Alophen, the next week take two Zilatone tablets. While these (the Zilatone properties) do not carry the heart stimuli that is good for the circulation (under the existent conditions), they do carry the Caroid that is a stimulation for the activity of the gall duct and the eliminations from those areas of the lower portion of the duodenum and through the whole of the alimentary canal.
-
Occasionally the enemas are preferable to either, but be sure there is each day an elimination through the alimentary canal. This as we find especially with the Zilatone will be stimulated, and if there is not the activity then take a small quantity of the Eno Salt of a morning; that is, a level teaspoonful in a full glass of water. This will act with the kidneys and relieve that tension that at times arises from the kidneys attempting to make for eliminations, owing to the congestion in the gall duct and the upper hepatic area.
-
Rubs occasionally of the whole system with Olive Oil would be most beneficial.
-
As to the diet - we would keep very much along the line that has been indicated; though, to be sure, through the seasons when vegetables are changing, and fruits and small fruits are in season, these may be taken in moderation - as may stimulant of coffee, but without cream or milk; though if desired a small quantity of sugar may be taken. Coffee is a food when taken in that way and manner.
-
The rest we would keep much in the way as has been indicated at the various times.
-
We would have the Radio-Active Appliance worked over, for there have been some of those changes in same owing to the seepages that tend to make for a shortcircuiting in same. This as we find would be most beneficial in keeping the circulation and the abilities for the body to rest, to keep the vibratory forces in a much nearer normal reaction.
-
Do these.
-
Ready for questions.
-
(Q) Is condition of stomach and liver improved any? (A) Somewhat improved; but these variations as indicated should make for a helpful condition.
-
(Q) Would a little broiled fish with bread be harmful? (A) No. Corn bread is preferable, though, if this is taken.
-
(Q) Are my kidneys in good condition? (A) As has been indicated, there needs to be that stimulation as will aid to eliminate. That’s why the use of those properties as indicated (the Eno Salt).
-
(Q) What can I do to improve my hearing? (A) The rubs, especially in the upper portion of the cerebro-spinal system, or the dorsal to the base of the brain, with the Olive Oil once a day will aid in these directions somewhat - and especially the vibrations from the Radio-Active Appliance.
-
(Q) Would it be well to have them syringed out? (A) This would not be so well, though it is well to have a little Sweet Oil or St. Jacob’s Oil used occasionally - one drop. This will tend to loosen the accumulations and make for a much easier reaction. And then if so desired these may be syringed out, but this should NOT be done too often nor too much.
-
(Q) Any other advice? (A) Do these as we find for the present.
-
We are through with this Reading.

Reports
Reports & Follow-up
R1. 8/23/37 “I am a great deal better in some ways, and am still using the same suggestions about my diet. I have eaten a little broiled fish with corn bread, very little turnip salad, also snaps. It doesn’t take much to give me enough. These agreed all right.
“Am taking the pills as directed, but what to do about the spells of pain I have so often in the right side of stomach on the liver side I don’t know. I don’t know what it can be unless it is caused from gall bladder. I do think it keeps me pulled back a great deal, but I am going to keep trying to do what you say, and I believe it will be better after some time. It has been several months since I was taken bad off, but I still try to look for the good. I know you get tired of my complaints, but I must tell someone and I know you will understand.”
R2. GD’s note: I remember seeing Mrs. [326] about this time, and she was a very frail little lady - she looked as if a breath of wind would blow her away.

(3) What was the physician’s analysis of this condition?

(5) For how long?
All the time.

The physician’s analysis of this condition was that it was tic douloureux. I followed the suggestions in the reading for four or five years. I am now very much better.”

Background
Background
B1. See 326-8 on 5/18/37.
B2. 6/25/37 She requested a ck. rdg. to advise the next step, saying: “I am weak and nervous after taking an Alophen pill, still my liver wasn’t aroused by taking it. I want to say my jaw [the tic douloureux] is decidedly better, and I am so thankful. I am still on liquid and semi-liquid, also juices. I do eat a little whole wheat bread browned. While I want other things, I wouldn’t dare eat them unless I knew [from you] that it was alright.”
