This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at the office of the Association, Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 19th day of January, 1944, in accordance with request made by the self - [3262], Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research and Enlightenment, Inc.

Time of Reading Set bet. 10:30 to 11:30 A. M. Taken 12:05 to 12:10 P. M. Eastern War Time. …, Michigan.

1. GC: You will give the physical condition of this body at the present time, with suggestions for further corrective measures, answering the questions, as I ask them:

2. EC: Yes, we have the body here; this we have had before. There are tendencies towards helpfulness for this body. As indicated, this will require a long period if there will be any material aid.

3. The adjustments have been very well administered. However, we would find by X-Raying as to how much pressure is indicated in the area where the vertebrae were crushed, and that by alleviation of this, there can be seen just how and where there may be had the response. Make the X-Ray both lateral and from the front.

4. Do these and then keep in accord with those other suggestions made and we should have yet much better improvements.

5. Ready for questions.

6. (Q) Are the packs and oil rubs being administered properly? (A) These are very well. It’s the adjustments that need to be changed somewhat. While it is a very delicate job, it can be done if there is indicated to the manipulator just which way and just how to do it. This should be as close in the area where there is the pressure that it can be made (the X-Ray). For the spinal cord is not entirely severed but there is a pressure on same.

Do that.

7. (Q) Is the spinal cord completely severed? If not, how much of it is functioning? (A) Just as indicated, it is blocked; not entirely closed, else there would be no feeling at all.

But do as we have indicated, making these types of X-Ray so as to indicate to the manipulator just the manner, how much and where there is to be the movement.

8. We are through with this reading.

R1. 6/44 Letter to EC: ”…On Oct. 4, 1943 you gave a reading for me followed by a check up in January. Would it be possible to make another appointment for the second check reading sometime within the next four months?

“Enclosed please find our check for ten dollars for the reading.

“I regret very much that the original reading has been destroyed. Would you send me a duplicate of the one you have in your file? I shall be very grateful if this is possible.

“To date there isn’t any noticeable change in the condition. However we are anxious to know if the proper osteopathic adjustments have been made or if there is still work to be done there…”

R2. 8/25/44 Questions:

1. Have the proper osteopathic adjustments been made? If not can you give specific instructions?
2. Would walking with braces and crutches aid in returning to normalcy of the bladder and bowel muscles?
3. Would the patient derive any physical benefit by attending a school for paralytics and spastics?
4. Has the patient shown any marked improvement since the time of the last reading? Is there any increase of nerve impulses from the back to the legs?
5. Is the recently increased spasticity due to trauma or regeneration of nerve tissue?
6. There is a trace of action in the foot flexor muscles. What bearing does this have with the nerves of the back?
7. How much bearing do the increased reflexes of the knee and hip flexor muscles have upon the potential action of these muscles?
