Time of Reading 3:50 to 4:10 P. M. Eastern War Time. …, N.Y.

1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body; answering the questions as I ask them:

2. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [3286].

3. Conditions here, as we find, are the after effects of an infection and a very high temperature in the body; thus destroying much of the superficial and sympathetic circulation. While nerves of a nature are indicated through the limbs and knees, and the hands and wrists, this is rather of a superficial nature, or not coordinating with the central nervous system directly.

4. The attitudes that have been held by the body have been and are helpful, yet these conditions - being karmic - must be met by the body; in adding to the being and soul of the body, patience, kindness, brotherly love, long suffering and the like.

5. Physically help may be gained by the use of the Wet Cell Appliance carrying gold, silver and iodine alternately. This would require three different connections to the Appliance. Attach the Appliance for thirty minutes each day, one day using the Gold Solution (in the proportions of one grain Chloride of Gold Sodium to each ounce of distilled water), the next day using Nitrate of Silver Solution (in the proportions of one ounce of a two per cent solution in two ounces of grain alcohol) and the next day using Atomidine - which is atomic iodine (in the proportions of one ounce of Atomidine in two ounces of distilled water). Alternate these in this manner: First the gold, the next day the silver, the next day the Atomidine and so on. Do not allow the plates or connections to remain in solution when not in use. Wipe them off each time. Each of these solutions should be changed after it has been used fifteen times.

6. The charging solution for the Appliance should be changed every thirty days. Make the charge regular strength. Do not use Charcoal in this solution.

7. Each day the large plate through which the solution passes vibratorially, should be attached to the umbilical center - two fingers from the navel to the right and one finger up from that point.

8. When using the Gold Solution, the small plate would be attached at the 9th dorsal.

9. The next day when using the Silver Solution, apply the small plate to the 2nd dorsal. The third day when using the Atomidine, attach the small plate to the 4th lumbar or lumbar axis.

10. Each day following the Appliance massage the body around the waist, across the hips, over the shoulders and down the arms, and down the limbs, using this combination of oils; adding these in the order named:

Russian White Oil as the base…6 ounces, (or Nujol or Usoline) Oil of Pine Needles…2 ounces, Olive Oil…1 ounce, Peanut Oil…2 ounces, Sassafras Oil…1/2 ounce.

These will separate, but shake together each time they are used, pour in a saucer and massage into the body over the areas indicated, all that the body will absorb.

11. Do keep the braces when attempting to walk. Do use the supports. Keep the braces on wrist if there is activity with same. To be sure, remove same when the treatments are applied.

12. Be persistent, be consistent, be instant in prayer.

13. Ready for questions.

14. (Q) Which foods are detrimental to this attainment, and which are conducive? (A) Abstain from too great a quantity of starches or any quantity of sweets if meats are taken. Meats should consist of fish, fowl, or lamb, but none ever fried.

15. (Q) What must I do to attain perfect physical strength? (A) As just given but remember the help must come within self, through self, and making self right with Creative Forces.

16. (Q) How can I overcome fear of falling? (A) Putting your trust in Him, who is life.

17. (Q) What must be done to my right knee to strengthen its muscles and keep it from unlocking? (A) Keep up the rubs as has been given.

18. (Q) Are the exercises I do now beneficial to me? (A) These will be easier to be done if these massages are followed properly.

R1. 10/18/43 [3286]‘s letter: ”…Received my physical reading and am greatly impressed by the clarity and general good of it. I would like to file application for a check reading as soon as possible, as my treatments with the Wet Cell Appliance are to start as soon as I receive the Appliance. When the check reading takes place it will be just the right time to check on the treatments.

“Please send me all information regarding a check reading. Am awaiting your reply with thanks…”

R2. 10/21/43 EC’s letter: ”…Of course we want to get your check reading in as soon as it would be possible, so to be of help to you. We are making the appointment for the check reading for the morning of January 27, 1944, 10:30-11:30, Eastern War Time.

“You will find enclosed the blank that you fill out and return with the information necessary for the check reading, which is exactly where you will be at the hour of the appointment, and the list of questions regarding your conditions.

“Hoping that you are going to find real help, and with every good wish…”

R3. 10/27/43 [3286]‘s letter: ”…Since I haven’t yet received the Wet Cell Appliance and started the treatments, I have no questions to ask right now. May I send in the questions at a future time (before the check reading) as I will then know what to ask? Please advise me…”

R4. 11/2/43 EC’s letter: ”…It certainly would be best for you to wait until a few days before the time of the reading to make out your questions, as there will no doubt be a difference in your condition at that time, if you are able to take the appliances and get started on those treatments.

“Let me hear from you then, and hoping to be the means of a service…”

R5. 12/22/43 Letter: ”…The physical reading you gave for me on October 11, 1943, advised the use of the Wet Cell Appliance, to be bought from Mr. A. M. Godfrey of Norfolk, Va. I now have a letter from Mr. Godfrey stating the Appliance has been shipped. My check reading is scheduled for January 27, so I am very happy that the Appliance is on its way to me.

“My physical reading states that the Appliance must be attached to various areas on my body. I asked Mr. Godfrey to tell me where these spots are located, but he hasn’t given me the information, so I must turn to you.

“The reading says to attach the Appliance to the umbilical center - two fingers from the navel to the right and one finger up from that point. Now, do I measure by the width or length of my fingers?

“Again, it states the small plate should be attached to the 9th dorsal, the 2nd dorsal, and the 4th lumbar or lumbar axis. I know this means my back, but I don’t know just where on my back. Please give me the exact locations.

“Also, please tell me if I should take the treatments sitting, standing or lying down and if they are to be taken during my menstrual periods?

“These treatments - as did the reading - means a great deal to me. Please don’t think me silly to ask so many questions. I want to get all I can from these treatments; in a word, perfection, and want to be sure I am following instructions accurately.

“Please reply as soon as possible, for the Appliance is already on its way. Thank you sincerely…”

R6. 1/3/44 EC’s letter: ”…I think it would be very much better would you delay the check reading until after you have used the appliance for at least a month. I don’t think it would be advisable to have the check reading until you have had the opportunity to use it for at least that long, or even longer… Be sure to let us hear from you…”

R7. 1/6/44 [3286]‘s letter: ”…Am in receipt of your letter advising me to have the check reading a month later than Jan. 27, as previously scheduled. This is a very good idea, and I am heartily in favor of it as that will allow me at least a month’s use of the Wet Cell Appliance.

“I have the Appliance and all the necessary chemicals that go with it, and wrote my last letter to you to get specific instructions for its use, but none of my questions were answered. Please, please, answer my questions now so I can start taking the treatments with the Appliance. Here are the questions:… [Repeat questions in letter of 12/22/43 - Par. R5 above.]

”…Please answer as soon as possible so I can start taking the treatments, and tell me the new date for the check reading…”

R8. 1/11/44 EC’s letter: ”…I have yours of the 6th and we have your appointment for the check reading for the morning of Jan. 27, but unless you have had four weeks treatments with the appliance, I do not know whether it would be advisable to get it then. Let us know about this.

“Were the instructions sent with the appliance, as how to use it? You measure the width way - it’s two fingers from your navel center to the right and one finger up from that point.

“I can’t state the exact location of your 9th dorsal, because on everybody it is different in its length, but if you will go to New York, Dr. Reilly’s Institute in Rockefeller Center, he will point this out to you, and I am sure there would be little or now charge for this. They will point this out with iodine or mercurochrome so you will not forget where it is. Yes, these treatments can be taken at all times - taken much better lying down - but I am sure to get these exactly it will be much better to make the trip to see Dr. Reilly…”

B1. 5/18/43 Letter: “I have just read ‘There Is A River’ and it is difficult to describe my feelings just now. I see clearly that you are an instrument of Infinite Mind, and that you contact the higher planes of consciousness and express that higher thinking for the benefaction of mankind. Blessed are you, indeed, to have proven yourself worthy of such a sacred and holy trust.

“Having ‘grown up’ with an extremely handicapping physical disability, I hit the bottom of bitterness and futility about five years ago; and hit it with such force that I bounced. On the rebound I caught a glimmer of Truth.

“Although I have been constantly striving to think perfection since then, my demonstration is not yet tangibly visible. Five years is less than a breath to an archaeologist, but in an individual incarnation it is quite a length of time to be waiting. The Master said, ‘before I came you had a cloak to hide behind’ and that is what makes it so hard. The cloak is gone but the innate perfection is still clouded over. I know that since I am an expression of God I must be perfect, just as I know I need sincere guidance to learn to attain and express that perfection.

“Is it possible, Mr. Cayce, for you to give a physical reading for me in the immediate future? I have been waiting so long for just this kind of help and have absolute faith it will come through you. God brought you into my experience as part of His plan for me and I know the greatest good will result from this contact.

“Personal information is: I was born Feb. 22nd, 1916, to Jewish parents. At the age of 4-1/2 months I was in the physical condition I speak of now. Am also enclosing a list of questions I would love to have answered. Also, please tell me what your fee is.

“I hope and pray you will grant me my wish for a reading in the near future. I trust in God that it will be so.”

1. Is it better for me to wear the leg brace and walk with the cane, not to wear it and walk with someone’s assistance, or wear it and walk with someone’s assistance? 2. Is the diet the teacher advises good for me? 3. Should the exercises be done as often and as strenuously as the teacher advises? 4. How can my right arm be made stouter and given a normal appearance - (as to making it turn over, palm down, and the elbow stretching open properly)? 5. Should I continue wearing the board strapped to my right wrist?

B3. 5/20/43 EC’s letter: “We have your letter of the 18th and do hope we may be the means of being of a service… As you may guess we are having hundreds of requests for help…so are many months in advance with promises… We will be glad to have you on our waiting list if you see fit…just hope we may help.”

B4. 5/24/43 [3286]‘s letter: “Greetings and cheery salutations, and many thanks for your kind reply to my letter. I must confess to a sense of disappointment over the necessary lapse of time ere my reading takes place, though I knew, of course, that there were others before me. I also knew, however, that I should ask for what I want, for “Ask, and it shall be given unto you”, which is why I did so.

“Yes, please do put me on your waiting list. All I ask of you now is to please tell me the date and hour of my reading, and to please send me a note reminding me of it a week or so ahead of time (if this is at all possible). I realize that a fully receptive and acquiescent state of mind is essential during the time of the reading, and I want to give all imaginable assistance at my end. Also, please let me know if I should send a duplicate list of questions to be asked during the reading.

“Regarding those questions, they all deal with my present physical condition. Should the glorious manifestation of my innate perfection come about before my reading takes place, I will tell you about it - (I think I’ll dance all the way to Virginia Beach!) - and send other questions. Meanwhile, I am continuing my study of metaphysics just as heretofore, or perhaps with more eagerness since I see this truly wonderful expression of Divine Mind through you…”

B5. 5/26/43 EC’s letter: “…the period assigned you is the afternoon of October the 11th 3:30 to 4:30 E.W.T.

“It will be necessary that you send the application for membership filled out if you wish us to notify you before that date.

“Do hope we may be the means of help…thanking you…”
