This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at the office of the Association, Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 26th day of June, 1944, in accordance with request made by the father, Mr. […], Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research and Enlightenment, Inc.

At her Time of Reading grandmother’s 3:30 to 4:30 P. M. Eastern War Time. farm, …, Michigan.

1. GC: You will give the physical condition of this body at the present time with suggestions for further corrective measures, answering the questions, as I ask them:

2. EC: Yes, we have the body here; this we have had before. We find little or not changes other than a normal development of every nature under the existent circumstances.

3. The administrations have not been given because of the troubles in obtaining parts of the ingredients. Thus we would give the changes. While the cadmium indicated would be the salts mixed with lard, we will change these; so these may be the administrations!

4. Do have the corrections osteopathically indicated, but do daily have those administrations of the message for spine, limbs, neck and head; that is, the back, around the ears, around the throat, the chin, the spine from the head down to the 9th dorsal, from the feet upward to the 9th dorsal.

5. Use these, then, in the present; these we will change as developments come back about every six to eight months, and different applications may be necessary. This is dependent upon the developments, and as to how prayerfully and how consistently administrations are made, as to how well the body will improve. These should be made, not by someone given to do so, you cannot hire someone to suffer for you nor someone to meet your own shortcomings. These must be done to inconvenience to your own gratification.

6. Thus, those responsible should administer the massages, using equal portions or tow ounces Olive Oil, and to ounces of Peanut Oil, adding one-quarter ounce of Lanolin (melted). Use this as a massage, not too much, and when this is through after letting the body rest for fifteen to twenty minutes, have a tepid soda solution sponge bath. This would be a heaping teaspoonful of soda to a gallon of water.

7. This do daily, see? Add the other about twice a week.

Dear Mr. Cayce:

Was very happy to receive your Reading, which was dated June 26, 1944, but I am a bit puzzled as to some of the paragraphs of the Reading.

Beginning with paragraphs 3, I am of the opinion that the paragraphs was not transcribed properly, as the substance of said paragraph is not very coherent. I would appreciate having Miss Davis check the Reading for proper transcription.

The name of our osteopath is Dr. John P. Wood, 206 Wabeek Building, Birmingham, Michigan.

Dear Mr. […]

I have just received your letter of July 5, in which you state that paragraph 3 of your daughter’s check physical reading was confusing to you.

At the time of the first physical reading, the prescription given was one which I had not heard before, and the name “Cadmium” being unfamiliar to me, I was forced to assume that “Calamus Oil” was correct”

However, when you wrote to say that you were unable to obtain it, Mr. Cayce arranged to give a check reading at the earliest possible moment, and as I interpret the paragraph, (3), the information explains that the ingredient meant was “Cadmium”, and on looking in the dictionary for my own satisfaction, I have learned that it is, as explained in the reading, “salts mixed with lard”.

The reading goes on to say that since it has not been possible for you to follow this suggested treatment so far, to disregard that part of it now and carry on with the treatments prescribed in the second reading.

Hoping that this clarifies this part of the reading for you, and with regret that there has been the confusion, I am,
