This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 20th day of September, 1936, in accordance with request made by the self - Mr. [348], Active Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

1. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [348]; this we have had before.

2. As we find, an acute condition has arisen from a strain that has turned a thistle that was imbedded in the arm, hand, and has been partly in the circulation.

3. We would in the present then, first put the hand in as warm water as the body can stand - for ten minutes. Then apply over all of the swelled portions (though extending into the arm) honeycomb with the honey in same, as a poultice.

4. Begin by giving the body, then, three to five grains of acetanilide, two and a half to three hours apart.

5. As the poultice of honey draws this may be removed and and the infectious forces will be eliminated.

6. Keep the eliminations and the general activities of the system near normal.

7. A stimulation from massage in the morrow, along the upper dorsal and through the cervical, will help to equalize the circulation or the distressed area produced by the temperature and the swelling, and aid in removing the drosses or accumulations FROM the swelling.

8. Do that.

9. Ready for questions.

10. (Q) How long should the poultice be left on? (A) Until it has drawn sufficient to see that it is localized, and has been aided sufficient by the acetanilide activity upon the circulation to produce sufficient of the leukocytes to separate same in the body. It may be an hour, it may be four hours.

BEGIN GIVING THREE TO FIVE GRAINS ACETANILIDE ABOUT THREE HOURS APART. KEEP ELIMINATIONS. TOMORROW HAVE MASSAGE UPPER DORSAL, CERVICAL.

R1. 9/27/36 “I want to thank you very much for your rdg. It sure called the turns, and I am all o.k. again.

“The knuckle of my left hand started to swell to about its twice normal size, and along with it plenty of pain - couldn’t imagine what as wrong, but of course [340] and [243] imagined most everything [erysipelas or blood poisoning?] and I thought it might be neuritis. Of course their imaginations are a little more vivid than mine, and they weren’t satisfied until I wired you. Of course I didn’t need much urging. Anyway, I am very grateful to you. Now I am o.k. until the next time!”

R2. 6/18/37 He obtained his next Ck. Physical, 348-23 for bilious spell, etc.

R3. 7/12/50 He visited A.R.E. with his wife and sister-in-law. GD asked him if the splinter was found. He replied: “Yes, of course we found the splinter - it was drawn out. We all three saw it - [[340] and [243] and myself].”
