This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 11th day of December, 1939, in accordance with request made by the self - Mr. [348], Active Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.
[Edgar Cayce; Gertrude Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno.]
Time of Reading 11:15 to 11:20 A. M. Eastern Standard Time. …, Tenn.
-
GC: You will give the physical condition of this body at the present time, with suggestions for further corrective measures; answering the questions as I ask them:
-
EC: Yes, we have the body here, [348].
-
As we find, conditions show a great deal of improvement. Mostly the upsets to the bodily forces are from imprudence in the activities, or in the eating, from time to time - as we find in the present.
-
We find that there should be kept, in the activities of the body, those properties that are very close in keeping with the effect of the bacillus as goes with the buttermilk. Hence we would keep this as a part of the drink. Not that it is to be the only diet now, but this taken mostly of an evening with bread - as the evening meal - will give bulk as well as activity through the alimentary canal, and especially through the colon; and with these keeping the better conditions as related to the general activity.
-
Hence these we would keep, for the better forces of this body, [348].
-
Those foods of every nature that form more of this character of effluvium and bacillus will be the better and for the better conditions for this body.
-
Ready for questions.
-
(Q) Other than buttermilk, what foods would come under this head? (A) As indicated, those that carry those forms of bacillus, - and it would be very well to study these, from any good diet book, see?
-
(Q) Did I get proper results from series of diets? (A) As indicated, this is the character of diet needed; and, as just outlined, the breaking over or not being consistent with some of the suggestions causes the upset at times. The closer the suggestions are adhered to, the better the results will be.
Yogurt should be a part of those combinations, you see, for this body [348].
-
(Q) Any further suggestions? (A) Do these things, as we find will be the better forces and influences for this body.
-
We are through with this Reading.

R2. 6/26/47 wife [340]‘s sister [243]‘s ltr.: “We have been panicky for last 2 wks. about [348]. He is in critical condition with stomach ulcers again. They are active, are hemorrhaging, and we are taking him to hospital this p.m.”
R3. 6/28/47 “[348] had terrible sinking spell. We got him to hospital as quickly as we could. He is in very serious condition. [340] is over there now. Dr. Cate who is his Dr. brought surgeon in this a.m. He has had 2 transfusions and will have to have a good many more. We just expect anything. He hasn’t strength enough to go through operation. Ulcer still active. He has lost so much blood.”

R5. 11/26/50 “You know about 20 yrs. ago [348] was told in a rdg. to add Yogurt to his diet, and we didn’t know where to get it or what it was. Now everybody is talking about it and using it. Reader’s Digest came out with quite an article. Believe me, [340] gives it to him once a day now regardless. If we had only persevered a little more to use the things he gave us in the rdgs. we would be better off today. We thought we did, but not as accurately as we should have.”
