EC: We have the body here - this we have had before. Now, we find a condition here at this time which easily, thoroughly, demonstrates that more may be broken down in even one meal than may be built up in a great many; and while the conditions have become exaggerated again, and while the condition in the stomach - as has been - has been greatly improved from that first produced, when there was the inadvised conditions taken in the system. The body needs much of the same conditions that have been given for same, for the PRESENT; for there must be the proper basis upon which to build. Let the water that is taken carry (that is, the greater quantity of it) some elm, and the condition will show a great deal of change. Most of the water, then, should carry elm or Yellow Saffron, see? with the manipulations, [osteopathically] with the diets as have been outlined. Then, when this has been taken for ten to fifteen days, then we would change for this body. Beware of stimulants that would cause irritation either to the cardiac or pyloric end of stomach. Inflammation has been produced in both; not so much in the upper portion as the lower, yet both are in sympathy - but bettered from that as has been.
-
Do that, however, for ten to fifteen days - then we would give the changes necessary. Ready for questions.
-
(Q) Is the body still getting benefits from wearing the belt? [XX Radium Appliance belt or pad] (A) This needs to really be recharged. Some benefits are derived. It is not sufficient in its radiation. Better that it be recharged.
-
(Q) Is the beef compound the body is taking helping him, or what would be more beneficial? (A) Better that the beef be of the juices as would be made from fresh meat, [GD’s note: Directions for making pure beef juice were sent with rdg., 348-4, as often described in detail through the rdgs. See 1343-2.] than compound - especially for the next fifteen days.
-
(Q) What will help the body put on weight? (A) We will give these when we get the system in condition where it may be able to take care of the weight! We are through with this reading.
Reports
Reports & Follow-up
R1. 2/15/29 Letter from EC to [340]: ”…As for [348] it seems that he must have certain basic conditions to work on, - and as you will see from the enclosed card, we are making the appointment so we will be sure to get him in, in time, if he will want to check up on it at that time. Tell him to be sure and let us know about that. And I would make out a list of questions and send them in, in time enough for us to get them before the appointed day - but let it be after he begins his treatments, of course, for there should be some definite results from his taking the elm water and Yellow Saffron. As I understand it, the elm water would be taken possibly one time when he drinks water and the Yellow Saffron tea taken at the next time, This doesn’t mean he isn’t to drink any other water, but these should be in most of the water he drinks. The elm - you take just about a pinch between your fingers (ground elm), put it in a glass of water a few minutes before it is drunk. The Saffron - of course you make it up for a day and keep it in the ice box, but don’t let it get sour on you - for that would be worse than not taking it at all, and the elm water - don’t attempt to make that except as he takes it, for it sours mighty easy, but is easily assimilated by the system if taken properly. Then we will get the check up on it…”
R2. 2/21/29 Letter from [340] to EC: ”…Now about coming to Va. Beach to get the treatments: That’s the one thing that would make me feel that we would both soon be well on the road to recovery, but there’s nobody to take [348]‘s place at this time. I mean by that that if he were to leave now he would be out of a job, and you know we must keep plugging to get along these days…
“You were certainly right about [348]‘s case. Xmas and New Year he tore down all he had been building since last March. You know it’s mighty hard to refuse these Turkey dinners - and we had three in succession. Perhaps if he had confined himself to turkey it wouldn’t have been so bad - but there are too many trimmings. I think he is more convinced now than ever that he must stick to what you say…
“I’m enclosing appointment card [for [348]] so you will be sure to keep the date. Will send questions so you will receive them before March 2nd…”
R3. 3/7/29 Letter from [340] to EC: ”…I thought it might be possible that you expected me to write again before the 2nd and ask some more questions; but I have asked all the questions I know to ask. There’s just one thing - in the last reading you suggested that the Radium belt be recharged
- and the literature that came with it said the only charging that would ever be necessary was sunlight twice a day. I thought perhaps during the winter months there was so little sun - and that’s why you said it should be recharged. Let me know about this. I’d like to know if he [348] is getting enough beef juice. What other change, if any, in diet or otherwise you could suggest for his improvement. He seems MUCH better as far as any pain is concerned and I believe he doesn’t tire quite as quickly as he did - but he is so thin
- lighter than he has been for a long, long time. Of course, not eating everything would keep his weight down. The vegetables aren’t fattening, and meat juice isn’t…”
