GC: You will give the physical condition of this body at the present time with suggestions for further corrective measures, answering the questions, as I ask them:
-
EC: Washington Place - close to the bridge here - we have the body; this we have had before. There are changes for the better. Don’t be too anxious but be very consistent, be very persistent, be very prayerful and be patient. Follow the applications, consistently.
-
The corrections osteopathically have been very good. Don’t hurry with these, as these are given, for the body is developing and while there may be perfect alignments, the stimulating of those centers where there are the closer connections between cerebrospinal centers and the activities of the sympathetic nervous system - as in the lumbar axis, 9th dorsal, 5th and 6th dorsal to the 1st cervical should have proper attention. Be patient with these activities and we should still continue to gain.
-
Ready for questions.
-
(Q) Are the massages correctly given? (A) As indicated these are very good.
-
(Q) Would it be well for him to have a hot bath and cocoa butter massage every day, even when he doesn’t get the osteopathic adjustments? (A) These would be well, as indicated. These massage, the hot bath and massage every day would be well - whether they are the days when the corrections are to be given or not.
-
(Q) What time of day is best for his treatment? (A) Whenever the body is ready to rest. It should be given at a regular period. In the afternoon should be the better.
-
(Q) What is maximum amount of time that may elapse between the treatment and the massage? (A) Well, as just given - if they are given one each day, it doesn’t matter, when they are given on the same day whether it is a minute later or an hour or an hour and a half; but the massages should be at regular periods. The osteopathic corrections are to stimulate those connections in the areas outlined.
-
(Q) What foods would bring about the greatest degree of health? (A) Those for the normal development of the body, as indicated in whole grains, plenty of silicon, plenty of vegetables that can be assimilated by the body in whatever manner they may be prepared so they can be assimilated.
-
(Q) Is it advisable for him to sleep propped up on pillows? (A) If this is necessary, it is best.
-
We are through with this reading.

Reports & Follow-up
R1. 7/20/44 Mrs. [3051] wrote EC: “I have noticed people were being sent to Dr. Geo. N. Coulter [D.O.]. Mrs. […] took her small son [3558] there and didn’t like the results. On her own she then went to Dr. H. J. Reilly [Ph.T.] and has been having wonderful results. Reilly charges more is the only thing that I’ve heard that would cause anyone to leave there in preference to anyone else.”
R2. 8/10/44 Mother of [3558] wrote: “Dr. Coulter’s tr. cost
5 ea. and as [3558] has been getting two ea. wk. and there is no indication as to how many more he'll need, my husband feels we can not afford to spend10 a wk. I have spoken to Dr. H. J. Reilly about this and he says he will give us one free tr. a wk. if you will give your permission. I have the utmost confidence in Dr. Reilly and feel he is doing his best for our child. He has had three sets of tr. and showed a steady improvement. Since his last tr. which was in April there has been a retrogression. We all feel he has benefitted greatly by the tr. but as they have to go on indefinitely it would be most helpful if Dr. Reilly’s offer would meet with your approval.”R3. 8/16/44 EC wrote approving their taking the child to Dr. Reilly.
R4. 12/9/44 Mother requested appointment for Life Rdgs. for herself and [3558].
R5. 4/16/44 Mother wrote indicating she and husband were active in A.R.E.Groups.
R6. 11/30/55 Mother’s reply to Questionnaire:
I will try to answer your questions to the best of my ability.
Q. Were the readings followed as outlined, if so for what period of time? The readings were followed exactly for 1 year and 10 months.
Q. How long after the second reading were the treatments continued? For 1 year and 8 months.
Q. Did this clear up the cough? No.
Q. Did his eyes become less crossed? As he was taking eye exercises at the same time I don’t know to what to attribute the improvement. His eyes are perfect now. Vision is perfect too.
Q. Would you say that his hearing has become more normal? His hearing is completely normal.
Q. Does he still take cold easily? Yes, and lastingly.
Q. Do you know of anything that happened during the period of gestation that might have brought about this condition? No, and it has puzzled me. I do remember (its 17 years) having severe downward pressure that hindered my walking, but what the cause was I have no idea.
Q. Did following the suggestions in his reading clear up the vomiting? The vomiting would result from a coughing spasm. When the intensity of the coughing abated somewhat, the vomiting stopped.
Q. Do you feel that the readings described his condition accurately? Yes.
Q. Did any type of operation ever become necessary? Yes, a tonsillectomy. The tonsillectomy has been advised by every doctor we took him to, before the readings, and by the time he was 6 1/2 years old and the coughing was not much better, after much prayer and meditation we decided to have the operation performed. It was a serious affair as the tonsils were badly infected, but he improved almost immediately.
Q. At the time of his second reading, Mr. Cayce made the observation that Washington Place was close to the bridge. How far is Washington Place from the bridge? Just a few miles from any one of three New York bridges.
Now for whatever else I can tell you about [3558] and the readings.
The first and very important result of the treatments right from the start was [3558]‘s ability to fall asleep at a reasonable hour for a child of that age (7 or 7:30 p.m.). Before that it was 11 or 12 p.m. before he was asleep although he was in bed at the usual time.
At the time of the readings I sat with [3558] and prayed. I remember asking him how he was feeling and he said “just fine”.
[3558] is now a senior in high school, is an excellent scholar, plays basketball on the team, is 6 feet 4 inches tall and weights 185 lbs. He’s in good health except that he catches cold easily. If I said more about [3558] it would sound like boasting.
R7. 6/19/72 Mother visited A.R.E. with her second husband and reported to GD:
“My son [3558] was just wasting away. He had beautiful results from following Mr. Cayce’s readings. He became strong and healthy, with an IQ of 165 plus. He now has a 12 yr. old child of his own - lives in Calif.”

B2. 2/29/44 Mother wrote: “Our son has completed his first set of osteopathic tr. as directed in his rdg. His last tr. was Monday, 2/21/44. Since then he has been coughing again at night and not getting any rest or sleep. Should we wait the designated 3-4 weeks between each set of tr. or start them at once? or should I give him the hot bath and massage with cocoa butter, which I have been giving him only after each osteopathic tr.? and if so, how often?”
B3. 3/25/44 Mother submitted further questions.
