This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Virginia, this 11th day of April, 1934, in accordance with request made by her daughter, Mrs. [959], Active Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

Time of Reading 11:20 to 11:30 A. M. Eastern Standard Time. …, W. Va. (Physical Suggestions)

1. EC: Yes, we have the body, [356]; this we have had before.

2. As we find, conditions are not so satisfactory as they have been some times in the past. There are again those tendencies for accumulations of drosses and a general weakening in the system from same, as well as those disturbances that arise in the physical reactions to same; as we find tendencies for weakness in the movements and activities, a heavy tiredness on awakening rather than exhilaration and rest. And the recuperative forces do not apparently work as swiftly when the body begins its daily activities. Those food values that are taken do not apparently agree so well. There are the pains across the diaphragm area and shortness of breath when walking up steps or any undue exercise.

3. There should be these changes in the present, as we find:

4. Many of those ministrations that have been outlined would be well to take or to consider being used at this time; those portions that aid in the eliminations of the system are very good. Or, we would change to this in the present:

5. About twice each day after meals, especially in the morning and evening meals, take a quarter teaspoonful of Al-Caroid as a digestant or as a solvent for those things taken.

6. We would follow a little more closely, for the next few days, the diets as outlined.

7. Every third or fourth day (if necessary a little oftener) take the Caroid Bile Salts Tablets along with the Al-Caroid; that is; take two tablets in the evening, but when taken they should be taken for at least three days in succession - the Bile Salts Tablets - to cleanse the system thoroughly without purging, see?

8. As to the general activities of the body, we will find that the use of the stimulator or invigorator, by the application of the electrically driven vibrator, would be well for the body also. This would preferably be applied as the body is ready to retire. This should be given for ten to fifteen minutes along the cerebro-spinal system, the whole length, down the lower limbs especially and across the lumbar area - see?

9. These, as we find, for the present, would bring to this body, [356], the better physical conditions.

R1. 4/20/34 Daughter’s letter: “When I wrote for the reading for Mother I was very much disturbed about her condition. She had gotten so much worse. Her breathing was real laborious, and panting, especially at night and when going up steps. She began at once on the new treatment and I can see a decided change already. While we were waiting for the reading our family physician chanced to in here and seeing how she was feeling, gave her an examination and told me that she had a leak, or I believe he said a lesion or something of the sort in her heart that was worth watching and to keep her absolutely quiet. Well, I was right much in hot water for I just did not know how the reading was going to sound to her, for she gets very blue and worried about her condition at times and I never tell her that I feel anyway worried about her condition, but I knew I could not keep from her seeing the reading, so you cannot know how relieved I was when the reading had no reference to a leak in her heart. In Feb. she had a pretty close shave with pneumonia, and of course I was not surprised at a weakened heart condition. She still suffers with weakness, though her breathing is much easier. So I think she is responding very well considering her age. Where the reading says, ‘Many of the ministrations that have been outlined would be well to take or consider’ etc., I had been wondering if that refers to the castor oil pack? If she keeps on feeling so weak I will try that again, for she received wonderful relief by it. Just at this time I have to be away and will not be able to give the vibrator treatment.”

R2. 6/12/34 Daughter’s letter: “You have not had any way of hearing of my loss save through me… Mother was taken with one of her regular spring attacks on Apr. 25th and passed away on the 27th. I was not at home when she first was taken but hurried on as soon as I heard. She had not been able to react very well from the change in medicine, though she was working faithfully and I believe, had she been a little more careful of the diet, it might have been different…if you remember the last reading was not very encouraging…she had been gradually growing weaker all winter though she made a brave fight. …She said often the past few months that she owed the latter yrs. of her life to you…”
