This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at the office of the Association, Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 18th day of January, 1944, in accordance with request made by the mother - Mrs. […], new Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body; answering the questions, as I ask them:

2. EC: Yes. As we find there has gradually grown to be a retardment in the normal activities of the body. This has come from pressures produced in the coccyx area and a lesion in the upper dorsal and 3rd cervical.

3. From the very nature of the pressures the flow of impulses is hindered in the coordination between cerebrospinal and sympathetic system, and the effects are to the organs of the sensory system. These are hindered from pressures in or through the coccyx and lumbar area. These also prevent the activity, while the lesions formed by the breaking of coordinations in the upper dorsal and through the cervical area, or the 3rd cervical specifically, prevent impulses reaching the activities to speech, voice, and will in vision and hearing unless measures are taken for correction of same.

4. Though the body is in its developing stage, we would apply warm Glyco-Thymoline Packs for fifteen to twenty minutes, just before osteopathic corrections would be made in the lumbar-sacral and coccyx, also in the upper dorsal and cervical area.

5. Use three to four thicknesses of cotton cloth saturated with Glyco-Thymoline, not only over the area from the 3rd cervical to the 4th dorsal but also through the sacral, lumbar and coccyx area. Then apply salt heat. Preferably make a pad about an inch thick with salt, quilting this into a pad so that it does not run so, set so that it can be bent in such a way as to fit close to the body over the Glyco-Thymoline Pack. Heat this, as in an oven, and let these Packs remain on about fifteen to twenty minutes, before each osteopathic treatments. Then when the body is sponged off, immediately give the osteopathic adjustment. It will be easier, even for the delicate body, yet these should be made very specific.

6. These before very long should change the impulses and we will find nearer to normal development.

7. Do give a great deal of liver juice, though in very small doses at a time; not so much the liver itself, but calf’s liver broiled and mashed to a pulp, with a great deal of the juices - so don’t make it so hard as to remove all of these. Don’t put grease with it.

8. Do prepare Beef Juices and give in very small quantities, a quarter teaspoonful twice a day, just let the body sip it.

9. Then keep the regular diet, but include all those foods that will add more A, D, and B-1. While most of these are included in those properties indicated, it is well that these be prepared also in the milk to be taken by the body. Re-enforced D would be well to be used for the body.

10. Do these and we should find better conditions.

12. (Q) Is she deaf or partially deaf? (A) Partially deaf at present, but as indicated, the speech, the hearing and the vision will be affected - unless there are measures taken.

13. (Q) What can be done for her nervousness? (A) All of this arises from the same disturbances indicated. Do as outlined.

Dear Mr. Cayce:

When I read “Miracle Man of Virginia Beach”, an article in The Coronet, concerning you, I felt that at last I had found some one who would help my little girl, [3571]. This is the purpose of this letter and with it goes a hope of reply.

[3571] is 3 1/2 years old, a very pretty little girl, only she does not talk. However, when she was 1 1/2 to 2 years old, she did talk. At the age of 2, she suddenly started to retard in speech and interests - until all words are gone -

Dear Mr. Cayce,

I finally obtained the book “There is a River” from State Library in Harrisburg. I have not finished it, but am encouraged so much by what I have already read, that it has prompted me to write you again to see if you will please give my little girl, [3571], a reading SOON.

I have spoken to my physician here in … about you. I feel he will help us.

My only hope is you will consent to a reading soon, as she is still retarding and to wait for an appointment 12 months from now may be too late.

I have had her to two hospitals since last Dec. - for observation & a diagnosis - but with no results. One was Children’s Hospital in Pittsburgh & the other, John Hopkins, Baltimore. Then I read about you, and it seems you can, and will, be able to tell me what is wrong or what can be done for her.

Most naturally, being her mother, I have been heart broken over her condition; and am so anxious to see her talking and being normal again.

1. What is the cause of her retarding in speech and interests?

We undertook to get the Reading for [3571] a few days ago at the regular appointment and for some reason were unable to get it. I don’t know why it happened, but I am sorry about all this delay. We are trying to work this in as soon as possible. We will try this again on the morning of January 18th, 10:30 to 11:30 EWT.
