This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at the office of the Association, Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 25th day of July, 1944, in accordance with request made by the self - [3629], Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research and Enlightenment, Inc.

1. GC: You will give the physical condition of this body at the present time with suggestions for further corrective measures, answering the questions, as I ask them:

2. EC: Yes, we have the body: [3629].

3. As we find, we have had this body before. There has been a considerable response. Changes in altitude and changes in hot and cold, or arid and then a damp temperature, or the changes in pressure, alter a great deal the effectiveness of conditions made in administrations.

4. In the left ear we find there is a tendency toward a prolapsus of the Eustachian tube. This has been and is materially aided by the hydrotherapy and massages but, as we find in the present, if there are to be changes where they would be more uniform in atmospheric pressures and temperatures for the body, we would have at least at the present time two periods for preparation and clearing the Eustachian tube through osteopathic finger surgery. There should be sufficient of the lesions broken that, with the whole treatment, will bring an increase and a retaining of the activities through the auditory forces. That we would do.

6. (Q) Who would you suggest to do the finger surgery? (A) Coulter.

7. (Q) Would the climate in Cario, Egypt agree with my ear condition? (A) This would be much preferable after a better establishment through the finger surgery and a use of the Radio-Active Appliance on the body. We are through with this reading.

R2. 1/20/68 [3629]‘s letter: “You asked me about the results of Mr. Cayce’s recommendations. It is rather difficult to put on paper and I would prefer to wait until I visited Virginia Beach and could do it orally. However, I shall detail it briefly.

“I had left Rochester, Minnesota in late 1942 with the opinion of the doctors that I would be more or less totally deaf. I had never had any hearing in my right ear as a result of an instrument birth. Then the allergy shots I took for my hayfever set up an inner ear edema.

“As luck would have it, I was transferred to New York and took the opportunity to see Dr. Curtis Muncie, who did the same eustachian tube repair that Dr. Coulter did. I saw no particular improvement from the repair work my hometown osteopath had done after I had left Rochester.

“After Mr. Cayce’s reading of February 1944 I immediately got in touch with Mr. Reilly and started the treatments Mr. Cayce prescribed. I had no dramatic change, but over the period of five months my hearing progressed sufficiently that I was offered a second Army physical, but turned down the second time, as much as anything because of my right ear condition.

“My superior, however, thought enough of my hearing that when he was offered the job of U.S. liaison for Greece at Athens, he offered to take me along. He rather insisted upon it. That was the reason for my requesting Mr. Cayce for a second reading. My station overseas, until Athens were free of German troops, would be Cairo and I wanted Mr. Cayce’s opinion of the climate, etc.

“In Cairo I continued to take treatments, but when I transferred to Greece I could find no one and then the Communist revolution caught up with me and I finally wound up in a British field hospital. When the Army got hold of me from the British it took them about 6 months to get me home and, since I was a civilian, I had no call on treatment.

“My hearing did regress and I am now dependent upon a hearing aid. But the doctors say I have no trouble in my eustachian tube. Again my thanks and I hope to see you before too long
