R1. 7/12/33, the next day, Mr. [373]‘s Life Reading was again attempted and was obtained. See 373-2 and his 7/27/33 letter saying the German phrases were quite illuminating.
R2. GD’s note: Later Mr. [373] told me that as near as he could figure out these words were merely exclamations, possibly by his grandparents at the time he was born: Eck Platzchen! Ich Machen! Ich Machen! Kindlein! Kindlein! Ich Spreche Deutsch! Ach Lieber! Ich Spreche Deutsch! Ach Lieber! Nin!
