This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 115 West 35th Street, Virginia Beach, Va., this 30th day of July, 1928, in accordance with request made by self - Mr. [3743].

1. GC: You will have before you the body and the enquiring mind of [3743] of the … Bk. & Trust Co., … N.C., and the reading which was given for him on July 17, 1928, covering especially the Cincinnati matter, and you will advise the body as to just what the influence is there and what procedure he should take to correct the situation.

2. EC: Yes, we have the body here, with the enquiring mind as respecting those conditions as have existed, and as do exist, as respecting the relationship between the interest of the body and those affiliations of the banking interest with other individuals - especially Cincinnati relations. Here we find, these conditions are those that cause the greater amount of worry, with individual introspection of conditions, or where there has been the call for conditions to be changed, when in all common reason - or from every condition seemingly changes have been necessary to satisfy those interested. These conditions arise more from personal conditions than from otherwise, and are produced by the relation of one of the vice-presidents that has had some condition with others respecting some land, or real estate deal or association, and THIS brings personal resentment, where - as has been indicated - it is NOT of the nature that is resentment to the body personally, but rather the personal INTERESTS OF the body suffer through this relation.

3. Now to meet the condition:

4. First there would be the decision as to whether the body would desire the retire, through the changes, or not. Then be rid of it! Next, would the body desire to rid self of that association of the vice-president that causes this condition under the existent conditions, or would the body prefer to MEET these conditions as they arise, (even with the worry as comes from things), until the whole matter can be made clear. These are conditions to be met in the every day activity. As WE see, the better relation WOULD BE to establish with those relations in New York, and with other relations in either Columbus or Louisville, such connections as to overshadow these, IRRESPECTIVE of their holdings with this institution. This will of necessity be done quietly - not all at once, but gradual. We are through.

My dear Mr. [3743]:-

We were not quite as prompt in getting the information for you this time, as we had some work in hand that couldn’t be delayed. We are hoping though that the information will prove helpful to you. Possibly it is in line with what you already know, or it may offer you some new ideas entirely.

We are expecting Mr. Kahn the latter part of this week. He may go from here to … - I don’t know.

Mr. [3843] I have a very close personal friend who now lives in West Palm Beach, Florida. There is a possibility of his coming to … to live, as I believe he is to be associated with some accounting firm - or is to act in the capacity of an auditor for some firm. He is a very competent man, especially in your line of work. I knew him many years ago when he was associated with the City National Bank of Selma, Alabama. If he should come to … I would like to ask it as a personal favor that you get in touch with him - and I assure you any favor you may be able to show him will be a personal favor to me. I’ll let you know more about this later. His name is Alfred D. Butler.

Let me hear from you. We are still hoping you and Mrs. […] will have a chance to get to Virginia Beach. Work is progressing nicely on the hospital. Naturally I’m very enthusiastic about it. We are hoping that in the near future we will be better able to serve humanity through these channels.

Dear Mr. Cayce:

Yours of the 1st instant received, also reading of July 30th, for which I thank you.

I am enclosing check for $10.00, and I would like very much if you could give me a reading as to which Vice-President you refer to. Their names are as follows:

of the Bank, and Dr. J. A. Sinclair, Vice-President of Lake View Park, Inc.

I note from your letter that you are expecting a visit from Mr. Kahn and that he will be in … this week. I shall certainly be glad to see him.

In regard to Mr. Alfred B. Bulter, if you will let me know when he arrives in … I shall certainly be glad to give him some attention, also assistance if possible.

Mrs. […] and I will certainly be delighted to see you at Virginia Beach, and we may be able to make you a visit in the fall, but hope that you will be back to Asheville again soon.

R3. 8/24/28 [3743]‘s letter to EC:

My dear Mr. Cayce:

Not having received an answer to my letter of the 6th, copy of which I enclose herewith, I am writing to inquire if same was received by you.

Since writing this letter I have had a conversation with Mr. Kahn, who explained to me the reading I referred to in the letter under date of July 30th, which clears up the matter very much to me. And if you have not given me the reading which I requested in my letter of the 6th instant, I beg to suggest that you not give me same, but would like to have a reading on one […] formerly Vice-President of the … Bank & Trust Co. Very especially would I like to know his attitude toward myself and this bank and whether or not he is endeavoring to do us any harm at this time and whom he has approached directly and indirectly as heretofore.

A little later I hope to enter a life membership and also get a life reading, as well as make a contribution to your hospital.
