This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 115 West 35th Street, Virginia Beach, Va., this 2nd day of April, 1931, in accordance with request made by self - through Mrs. Ernest Zentgraf and Mr. Joe Bailey.

1. EC: Yes, we have the body and those conditions that surround the body - physically, mentally, spiritually - [3795].

2. In the physical we find there are conditions that disturb the body, which with correction would make for a better physical channel for the functioning of the mental - and an application of spiritual forces, as may manifest through the body.

3. In those conditions that have to do with the sensory organism, and particularly with the vision - these, as we find, may be made more near normal by the correction of those nerve impulses in the cerebro-spinal system, in the upper dorsal and the central cervical centers, that radiate impulses to the optic forces - as WELL as the correction by tauting and relaxing MUSCULAR forces that deal with the vision, or the nerve forces for the eyes themselves. These corrections we would make osteopathically, and using with same applications of the violet ray - using the double applicator over the optics themselves, and that of the plain bulb over the MUSCULAR centers in neck, throat and head. These we would find would be best applied FOLLOWING the corrections made, and these we would make at least twice each week for three to four weeks; then REST the same period, but keep the application of the violet ray as regular as if the treatments or adjustments were being made; then take another course of treatments or adjustments for two to three weeks, or four to six other other treatments or adjustments - see?

4. We will also find that for the general health of the body, beware of so much sweets for the body. These are rather in the form of those that affect the glands of the digestion, and turn to the sweets in the system, and affect the avoirdupois - as well as the lumbar regions, which cause distress at times in the locomotories and to the lower limbs. Some corrections, when the others are made for the eyes, will be found most helpful - though will not require as much of the application, see? but more SPECIFIC corrections in lumbar, sacral, along the limbs, under knees, and ESPECIALLY in the burses of the feet - else we will have some distresses later.

5. Well too, for the correcting forces, that EACH day - preferably as the body retires for rest - we have those applications of the Radio-Active Appliance - the plain - that carries those forces of the coordination to the extremities; though it will be found well to - at least every third day - apply the first anode at the 9th dorsal center and attach the other to the lower extremity, and to the upper extremity at the next period - see? These we would keep regularly for at least twenty-seven days, then rest a week - then use for twenty-seven days again. This completes a cycle.

6. In the mental forces of the body, these - we find - have been at rather an improper angle, for there has existed through the general surroundings of the body - in its developing period - those forces in the mental that made for differentiations, indifference to directions, and DIRECTED in many manners that were not in accord with the desires of the body. DESIRES are good, are desires controlled by the best INTERESTS for the body mentally and physically. Not merely those as satisfy the desires of the body physical, but those desires that build for a continuity of life’s forces within an individual. Then, with the changes, has come an awakening of abilities within the body. These, as we find, make for desires - or rather wishes - that there might be some great change come into the life. These are well, for such change may COME - will the body but apply those abilities in whatsoever direction the surroundings, the time, the place, gives the opportunity for the application of those things known within self, that makes for making life, making surroundings, a little more pleasant, a little more harmonious, a little more of those that make for a regeneration within; not giving away to desires that satisfy for the moment, not allowing self to become in any manner selfish with self, self’s abilities - or, as may be better put, PREFERRING another - or others - before self. In this manner will those abilities in making for the life of the home, the home ties and home surroundings - for with all those buildings that may come for individuals, those of the home are NEARER akin to the sincere innate desire in EVERY individual. Not as of ease, that thy soul may take its rest; rather that of a service to all whom the body may contact, and in so building the beauties of life, the beauties in nature, the beauties in service, become as the stepping stones for a contentment - no matter what the day may bring; knowing within self not self’s interests, self’s desires, are to make THIS earth, THIS abode, a little more worth while for those the body contacts. Not in some great deed of heroism; not in some great speech or act that may be pointed to with pride - but rather in the little kindnesses from day to day, remembering that he that giveth even a cup of water in HIS name shall in no wise LOSE his reward! Not as done FOR the REWARD; rather let thine heart, thine mind, thine BEING, be opened as with the love that passeth all understanding; remembering as it was said of old, “Though I have faith that removes mountains, though I speak with the tongues of angels, though I may conquer even the world and have not THAT love, it is NOTHING”, for it becomes as an emptiness that CANNOT be filled - but with each day, each hour, so lived as an act that the self would present before the throne of grace, and ALL power is given to those who DO in THIS manner His biddings, and the SPIRIT abideth ever! Only thine self may turn thy face from HIS face. Only thine self may make a shadow upon His abiding Spirit; for in HIS likeness, in HIS image, are we ALL made. Turning as upon thine own self casts the shadow.

8. (Q) Regarding the physical, what should body do for teeth? (A) Many of these will need local attention. Many of these will be assisted by those vibrations as to be set up in the system through the manner of the diet, when keeping away from those that make for acid forces in the body; using those food values that carry more of the silicon, the lime, and those of the phosphates will aid in CORRECTING those conditions, when LOCAL conditions are attended to.

9. (Q) What work is body most fitted to do? (A) That as it may be made in the household, in the home.

10. (Q) Has body any talent? (A) Apply that thou hast! for ALL are given that which WILL - if applied - make for the PROPER developing. Rememberest that as has been said? GOD wills that NONE should perish, but has ever provided a way of escape, EVEN from self - IN trusting - and acting that manner - in Him!
