EC: We have the treasure as has been located here before, also the operations in attempting to locate same. As we find, these are in the vicinity or in the location, lacking only a few feet of where the treasure was put and IS located. The stump and the pile, or cache, are in close proximity of the treasure. As given, the heaps of stone were as a marker to lead on in an opposite direction. Hence, toward the abutment and about the roots of the tree where fire built against is where same will be found. Dig. We would check the instruments with the information in this location and then follow same, see?
-
(Q) In what direction from the large stump uncovered in the past few days is the treasure located and how far is it from this stump? (A) Hasn’t been all uncovered yet. It is on the opposite side where they have been working, toward the abutment.
-
(Q) What caused the failure of the indicator to work on last Friday afternoon? (A) The connections and the charge, with the atmosphere conditions.
-
(Q) Would it be necessary, advisable, or dangerous to use dynamite to remove the large stump lately uncovered? (A) Would be best not to if most of the treasure would want to be uncovered. This would be a much easier way, but rather costly.
-
(Q) Is the dead spot indicated by the indicator at the southwest base of the rock or abutment a vein of some kind of mineral? (A) A gold mineral!
-
(Q) Please give any other advice and guidance to those working and concerned in this that will help them in bringing this work to a successful conclusion, considering both work to be done and attitude, mental and spiritual.
(A) Much has been given as respecting the attitudes of individuals. Hard for individuals at times to get that necessary understanding that purpose and aims and desires that are of material nature may often defeat purposes that are claimed as spiritual natures, but when these are coordinated, most anything may be accomplished. Then keep in the attitude as has been given, in a way that will bring for each an understanding of things material, things spiritual and things that would live, that would give life, that would give hope, must be spiritual in their inception. We are through.

Mr. Edgar Cayce Virginia Beach, Va.
My Dear Mr. Cayce:-
If you will recall some time ago Mr. Preston and I told you about a man that had an instrument for locating minerals. This man’s name and address was given to Mr. Preston by a medium who lives close here and at that time we wrote to him several letters trying to get in communication with him. As we could not get any answer to our letters we tried to call him on the telephone from Washington and in trying to locate him at Cedar Bluff Va. we did elicit the information that there was such a man living there.
Some time ago I had a letter from him saying that he had been away from home for some time and that he wanted me to come and see him as he had located some mineral body that was very valuable. I wrote to him explaining that it was impossible for me to come to him at that time and in my letter I explained to him that I wanted to employ him to go down in Virginia to locate a buried treasure. In answer to my letter he states that he will go with me as soon as he can get away.
Now Mr. Cayce I would not make any move toward the recovery of this or any other treasure without your sanction or the sanction of the forces through which you are being guided. The last reading on it of which I have a copy was given on May First. Have you any readings concerning it since that time? If so will you please send me a copy of it?
Will you advise me as to taking this man and his instrument down there and checking up his findings with the findings of the other instrument?
I feel that it is a sacred obligation we have undertaken in locating this treasure and am sorry that my lease deal has “hung fire” so long that I could not go ahead with my part of it.
As soon as I hear from you I shall get in touch with this man. With kindest personal regards and hoping that the organization has begun to function properly, I beg to remain,
Very Truly Yours, [signed] O. H. Snyder

“Found the boys in good shape Sunday and very enthusiastic. All indications are they will strike pay-dirt in a day or two.
I just decided to go up there while talking to you on the phone Sat. It made me forget altogether that you were to lecture on Sunday, and I know I missed something good. However, no doubt that subject [Hynotism] was so deep it would have gone clean over my head.”
