This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at the Washington Hotel, Chicago, Illinois, this 2nd day of May, 1923.

1. EC: In this developing body we find that of the improper incoordinating elemental forces of nerve centers to reach through the auditory forces to give perception of the functioning of that organ, see. Now the effect of this over the system is of local forces.

2. Now these are conditions as we find in this body here, [3854], … Avenue, City of Chicago, State of Illinois: The blood supply in this body is very good. There have been conditions however in this system whereby apparently the effect as produced of that which was producing the effect might have been just as a matter of blood forces, see. It was the effect of the condition in the affect producing the condition, see.

3. The nerve forces in this system in the cerebro spinal forces are very good, save in its junction as we have of the circulatory forces that form the proper distribution between coordinating nerve supply and circulation of blood supply see, for as we have now as this condition in all human bodies there is, as it were, the dynamic force of the inherent force in the body, and the heart being the center or that propelling all of life-giving elements over the whole system as the air enters in the lungs when first breath is taken in the body and it becomes a living soul with the power to create within its body, that necessary for sustenance of life and to create new forces to build as the body develops. The dynamo or dynamic forces are begun with the first breath, see, without new injury to the body, it becomes the normal developing forces at birth or soon thereafter. We find that happened which changed the course of the force through the system to the extent to cut off the functioning of the sensory organism of nerve power to coordinate with the mental forces, all bodies being made of three forces, that of physical, mental and spiritual in the physical that happened which produces the cut off or the hindrance or developing of expression of the physical or mental forces as here, see, while that of the physical develops in a normal manner and way. This body is good throughout, save for this condition of non-coordinating between the cerebro spinal center of reason to give the physical expression of those impressions received through the auditory forces, see. This may be corrected by this treatment, only this will give the connection necessary, give that of vibration to the system that will carry through to the nerve force supply to build in the system those connecting links that through which the expression of vibration received to the auditory to give expression back to the physical, see. We will find those in this:

4. To one gallon of rain water, add:

Sea Salt…1/2 pound, Willow Charcoal…1/2 pound, Copper Sulphate…1 pound, Zinc…6 drams, Sulphuric Acid, C.P…1 ounce.

5. This we would place in a glass container, see. This we find would charge itself but must be charged with high voltage and low amperage for forty to fifty minutes. While being charged there should be suspended in this solution, one-half pound bottle containing the half pound solution, you see, of Iodine, see. Two poles or wires will be used, these poles of copper in charging. When given to the body the negative pole should be of nickel or silver. To these poles, wires or couples would be attached, both wires from other end of wires attach to one copper plate sufficient length and size to be attached to this body here, you see, [3854], we are speaking of, for twenty minutes each evening at the second cervical. This must keep above two and one-half ohms charged. It will not be felt or shock the system but will give the vibrations necessary to retrieve the condition in this body. After this has been given for three to four weeks then the massage of the neuropath forces applied to the body every other day with the battery vibration. We will find within six to eight months the normal condition will be developed. Do that. We are through.

I have been running around so much that I do not remember whether I have answered your last letter, or have given the information or not that you desired regarding the treatment for the little girl [3856], but I would like very much to hear from you, and to know how you have been getting along.

My permanent office now is here in Selma, Alabama, and I will be able at most any time to check up these cases for you, so I hope you will let me hear from you, and we will see if we can get these little bodies [[3856] & [3854]] started on to better results, if possible. R2. 9/18/23 Mother’s letter to EC:

Dr. Edgar Cayce, Selma, Ala.

My dear Dr. Cayce,

Yours of Sept. 11th from Selma, Ala. to hand and was extremely glad to hear from you. We almost gave up ever hearing from you again, being that we wrote you on the 10th of Aug. to San Saba, Texas, and failed to receive a reply.

As near as I can remember the contents of the letter was as follows: You mention in your reading also in your letter of Aug. 5th to consult a neuropath for the baby [3854]. There are no practitioners under the head of “neuropath” in Chicago.

A friend of ours is at present taking treatments from a chiropractor. She suggested we see him, perhaps this chiropractor could help us as to whom to consult under the head of neuropath. Now this chiropractor assured us that the terms you use in your reading for [3856], which we showed him, are within his line of work, but we did not take the children down to him for examination until we would hear from you, as we did not know whether you wished us to consult a chiropractor for both children, being that you mention in [3856]‘s reading about an osteopath, and we wrote you some time ago that the osteopath Dr. Woodall [Dr. Percy Woodall] recommended did not want to undertake the work, as per your reading.

As for the baby [3854] we would like to have another reading from you to see whether the battery complies with your reading and how to proceed further. I therefore suggest that you wire us at once (at our expense) and set your own time when you can give him a reading and we will have baby [3854] ready for you.

Trusting this letter will reach you in due time, and if you will be the messenger from God to help our children [[3856] & [3854]], as for material reward, you can name your own price, and awaiting an early reply, I am,

Your letter of the 18th, addressed to Mr. Cayce, received. This is to let you know that Mr. Cayce is out of town for a few days, but will let you hear from him on his return.

We regret that your letter of the 18th has been so late in reaching Mr. Cayce. However, the letter being addressed to Selma, Alabama, it was necessary to have it forwarded here to Dayton, Ohio.

Concerning an appointment for reading relative to your baby, would say that a convenient time now open on Mr. Cayce’s calendar would be Thursday November 1st, at 12:30 noon.

Kindly advise by wire to Mr. Edgar Cayce, care of Phillips Hotel, Dayton, Ohio, if this appointment would suit your convenience. Give baby’s full name, and address where child will be at that hour.
