This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Va. Beach, Va., this 18th day of May, 1935, in accordance with request made by the self - Mr. [391], Active Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

[Edgar Cayce; Gertrude Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno. Mr. [391] and L. B. Cayce.]

Time of Reading 11:25 to 11:35 A. M. Eastern Standard Time. …, Va. (Physical Suggestion)

  1. EC: Yes, we have the body here; this we have had before. There are some general improvements, as we find, in the physical forces of the body.

  2. It would be well now, as we find, for there to be made some four or five ADJUSTMENTS and general treatments along the lower cerebrospinal system, specifically. These should be as adjustments in preference to the general manipulations, you see. These would be made specifically in the 9th and 10th dorsal and throughout the lumbar area.

  3. Also we would continue to use the injections, that there may be the clearing entirely of the infectious forces that have disturbed the body there.

  4. We would find that a hot bath, or hot sitz bath, would be helpful to the body taken two, three, four times each week, for at least three to four weeks.

  5. Do that.

  6. Be mindful that there are not great quantities of greases of any kind taken. No butter. No fried foods of ANY kind. Rather use the vegetables, broiled steak or liver and things of such natures; these are preferable for the general diet. To be sure, citrus fruits of mornings are preferable to cakes or the like. Whole wheat toast with milk or with cocoa is very good.

  7. Follow these; being very mindful that there is not too much of a strain, especially in trying to lift or to move things about. No boxing; no activity of that type, though walking and the general movements of a setting-up exercise where the whole of the body is generally moved would be very good.

  8. Abstain from alcoholic beverages of any kind. Do not smoke too much.

  9. Ready for questions.

  10. (Q) Should I keep using the Atomidine for the swelling? (A) Keep using the Atomidine, as packs this is preferable - wet or saturate the cloths, heat and apply same.

  11. (Q) How long will it be before my system is completely rid of this infection? (A) This depends upon the activity and upon the diet and upon the whole activities or applications. For these conditions have to be overcome and then the systems built to resist their reinfecting forces, see?

  12. (Q) Is there any danger of my wife catching this infection now? (A) Not in the immediate; though the precautions should be maintained by abstaining from coalescence.

  13. (Q) How will I know when there is no danger of infecting anyone else? (A) General conditions.

  14. (Q) Could Dr. Richardson make these adjustments? (A) As we find, we would make these rather as adjustments than as manipulations. Frischkorn would be well, as we find.

  15. (Q) Any other suggestions for the welfare of the body? (A) Keep the mental attitude and the general activity towards constructive forces. Do these, and be persistent, and be patient; and we will find that the general conditions will continue to improve.

  16. We are through with this reading.
