This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 115 West 35th Street, Virginia Beach, Va., this 4th day of February, 1926, in accordance with request made by self - Mrs. [3934] via Mr. Frank E. Mohr.

1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time. You will diagnose the case thoroughly, giving the cause of the existing conditions, also the treatment for the cure and relief of this body.

2. EC: Yes, we have the body here. Now, we find there are those physical conditions in this body that may be brought to the more normal functioning, and thus build in the system those conditions, that through general conditions and through specific conditions have caused the detrimental effects in the system.

3. Now, these are conditions as we find them in this body. First:

IN THE BLOOD SUPPLY, this we find has been changed considerable in the last eighteen months to two years, up and down in pressure, and in rebuilding, and in eliminations from same and by same, and overloaded in its action, through the inability of organs to function normal, through which the circulation was and is to distribute those used portions in the body. At the present time, this we find very good; better than has been in the past.

5. IN THE NERVE SYSTEM, in this we find the greater seat or cause of the troubles of the body. In times back there was produced in the lower portion of the lumbars, that disturbance through the impingement of the nerves in the 4th lumbar, that cause distresses through the whole lower portion of the body, even to the locomotories, and dilating upward to that of the pneumogastric and hypogastric plexuses. In this reflection, and with the pressure as created in the upper portion of body, another sympathetic lesion was formed, and effects of same are seen as yet in the 3rd and 4th dorsal, which affect directly the flow of blood in lungs and the respiratory system; distresses to the upper portion of the body, throat, bronchials, larynx, at times. These conditions are reflexes. These in the lower portion of body, we see, are the specific conditions.

6. IN THE FUNCTIONING OF THE ORGANS THEMSELVES, all organs of sensory system are affected to some extent, through the blood pressure, through the lack of eliminations, through the condition as is produced by the lesion in the upper dorsals.

7. In the lungs proper, this sympathetic condition as produced, simply sympathetic; not an organic condition.

8. In digestive system, the reflexes of the hypogastric and pneumogastric disturbance, and all of the distresses in the mesenteric system, from the lesion as is produced in the lumbar; as the effect to kidneys; as the effect to the organs of the pelvis in times back; these, we see, have been put in that position where no trouble is caused from same at present; yet this WAS the trouble, and the conditions did not bring full relief, see?

9. Then, to bring the normal condition to this body, we would give three specific, different combinations, or three specific treatments for the body:

10. The osteopathic condition, to relieve the pressure as is produced in the upper dorsal and lower lumbar, and relaxing the whole system for the system to re-vibrate properly.

11. As an inhalant, and to prevent the easily congestion in the system, these properties:

12. To 4 ounces of grain alcohol, add:

Eucalyptol…20 minims, Canadian Balsam…5 minims, Rectified Oil of Turp…3 minims, Tincture of Tolu (in solution)…20 minims, Creosote…2 minims.

Shake the solution well together; keeping in a container twice the size of the quantity, see? and inhale through the mouth and nostril, see?

13. And WEAR the Radium Applicator on the body, across the solar plexus, to create the equilibrium and bring the normal metabolism for the whole system, reviving through this the whole general vibration of the system.

14. The inhalation should be taken at least twice to four times each day, or whenever necessary, see? Inhale only.

15. The osteopathic treatments, at least thirteen should be taken.

16. The Appliance should be worn at least three to four months.

Dear Mrs. [3934]

I’m enclosing you, herewith, the copy of the reading as gotten at the appointed time yesterday. I’m certainly much in hopes that this will prove beneficial in many ways to you. I am in hopes that you will carry out the suggestions as are offered and will let us hear from you from time to time.

I certainly thank you for your interest, and we hope to be able to get the Life Reading for you in the next few days. The card filled out is sufficient, and we’ll send same to this address and let you notify us otherwise.

The Radium Appliance as is mentioned, this you can obtain from the Radium Appliance Company, Bradbury Building, Los Angeles, California. I believe these are distributed under a guarantee. If you don’t find results from same, you may return it.

I certainly hope that all of this will bring you a great deal of comfort and satisfaction. Hoping that you’ll let us hear from you.

My dear Mr. Cayce -

Your letter including reading came today. I was most eager to learn the results, & was delighted beyond words to have had so complete & satisfactory a diagnosis.

You may be assured that I shall follow suggestions to the letter & hope for the best results. When time has passed to know the effect I shall be glad to report again.

Today I set about - at once - to procure means of assistance which you mentioned. At every opportunity I shall want to speak of your great gift to humanity.

I hope the life reading will be soon as we may move to another address here in town in about ten days. You are indeed sincere Mr. Cayce & I shall hope to send you a larger check very soon. Sincerely, [3934]

R4. 2/14/26 [3934]‘s letter to EC:

My dear Mr. Cayce -

Am awaiting your notice of date of my “Life Reading,” & hope it will not fall in Feb. 18 (eighteenth) as we shall be moving to another address on that date & I could not be sure at which place I could be at the time set - due to express-wise (?) etc.

So if the date you set is on or before Feb. 17th, I shall be at the above address at the time you stipulate - in the card I receive, but on & after Feb. 19th, I shall be at … Ave. same town.

I shall be relaxed on the bed in either case at the appointed time. I thought this might save time for you to know & that perhaps you would not then await the return of my card to you.

The Osteopathic treatments are underway & Dr. says will not take long to fix me up. From the tremor in my body it will be evident - what a relief it will be to me to be steady and calm.

Only one store could fill the Inhalant & had to send away for one of the ingredients which has not come so far. I have not had time to hear from the “Applicator” people. So you see I have started to do at once, all that you advised, & we hope for satisfactory results.

Mrs. [4329] will be changing address at the same time. Kindly make a note of same. We are eagerly awaiting the results of the Reading you gave her [4848] & bother-in-law [4847]. They were most sincere in their desires & I am sure received aid.

R6. 2/26/26 [3934]‘s letter to EC:

My dear Mr. Cayce -

As the time is passing into weeks & I am still staying in Daytona so as to be ready for my “Life Reading”. I am fearing that perhaps a letter from you may have gone astray - as that is quite frequently the case in this town since consolidating with the other cities. We just learned today that this very thing had occurred to us recently.

I shall still remain in Daytona at this address for another week, leaving on Monday March 8th, & most sincerely hope that we may date the “Life Reading” during that time. If you write giving the date & time, during that time, I shall accept the same in case there is not time to reach you with an answer, but I will answer ANYWAY if you like, even if it does not reach you before the date you set - if that is any good.

Mrs. [4329] received the reports from her sister [4848] & husband [4847] today, & was most delightedly enthusiastic. We feel that your gift is most exceptional & wonderful, & that you are performing a great benefit to humanity, which will surely return to bless you amply.

I have followed your instructions to the letter, & all though it is so short a time & the appliance from Calif. not yet arrived, I am noticeably much improved, & the Osteopath very much pleased with my response.

The majority of people are not quite ready for the message you bring, but will ever be, in more increasing numbers, coming into the light & blessing of higher understanding, as looked upon today - so to speak.

I wish you the greatest of success in your marvelous work, & for those whom you reach a full benefit of the suggestions given in their readings.

R7. 3/7/26 [3934]‘s letter to EC:

My dear Mr. Cayce -

Do you ever get added help for a person with a second Health Reading? I hesitate to ask this after all you have given me of time in letters & reading, but feel impelled to do so.

I had hoped that indirectly the advice given & followed might aid my greatest trouble, when I found it untouched in the analysis. I have taken the Osteopathic treatments required & shall think best to still continue although I can ill afford to do so, financially, since not earning anything for so long. The Solar Pad has not had time to make an effect - but it is reported to increase heart action, which is my trouble, caused it - is thought by Thyroidism. And I tremble all over all the time beside, & am so terribly “hot” all the time, that no matter where I am I am moist all over. I do not know that it helps to tell you this, & I did not at first, hoping as I say to have some help, if not directly then indirectly, through reflex action.

It is due to these things that I can not devote my time to the things in which I am interested & can not be earning. The tremor is seen in my writing I know & it is distressing to say the least. Nerves are at the base of it all so you discovered but I had hope to get the upper hand in the heart rapidity & tremor before I have to go North & must do something no matter what my condition is physically, to earn something.

I shall be away this week & perhaps a little longer. If it were not an extreme case I should not trouble you, my dear Mr. Cayce. I am young enough in many ways to get control I am certain of these troubles, with your help. I shall not write the friends I mentioned until my return to Daytona.

Dear Mrs. [3934]

I have yours of the 7th, and I’m sorry to know you are not feeling good. Yes, I think it would be very helpful and perhaps very beneficial for us to have another reading on your condition, to see just how everything is progressing, and if there would be further suggestions. I’d be glad for you to make a list of questions to ask at the time the reading is taken. These might assist in your gaining a perfect understanding of what the Forces are trying to tell you.

Let me know about this right away, and we will make the appointment.

I’m enclosing you, also, a little booklet and would like to know what you think of it.

R9. 3/23/26 [3934]‘s letter to EC:

My dear Mr. Cayce -

Thank you for your prompt reply of March 12, which followed me to St. Petersburg & back here, where we shall not be staying very much longer. In fact we shall only await the readings for Mrs. [4329] & myself & then move on. So please give me a date as soon as possible. I came South when I could ill afford it because I felt anything I could do to get well must be done & heard of you on the train you know.

I want to get sturdy in order to help in a great work of saving boys & girls from evil influences & habits & developing those qualities which make for success. I am under contract to start that work May 1st, & am entirely unfit to do so.

For 20 years I was under a constant strain to keep my children from knowing that their father was a drunkard, & the consequent attendant almost daily worry over whether he would return home to provide for them or even ever return at all - night & day this continued. I finally left him when the youngest was ready soon to go to college. My father was a minister of one of the largest churches in Cleveland and built six other churches where needed. He was a wonderful man & our place in society made it extra hard for me to have the home life & my ideals wrecked - & keep it from being known so far as I could.

Last winter I went to pieces for the third time & most seriously - just when I could least afford to do so - & after trying for two years to avoid a breakdown. I was in bed four months with ice bags on my head & neck, as it was supposed to be due to over active thyroid condition.

I am still left with these conditions which I should like to have Mrs. Cayce ask you about in the reading.

1. What can be done to regulate the heart condition which is now too rapid & too hard & the heart said to be enlarged downward?
2. How can the intense tremor all over the body from head to feet be cured?
3. Can more be done to relieve the severe backache than is now being done?
4. What causes the trouble in knees?
5. How can eyesight be improved?
6. What causes & what will cure the terrible sick headaches which last three days & nights every few weeks?
7. How can greater nerve vitality be secured & more endurance obtained?
8. Am I going to be well & strong to do a great work still & will that work be made plain to me when the time is right?
9. Can you tell what is the best way for me to help humanity?
10. My “life reading” said “I should make much as a lecturer or writer.” Can you tell me in what line I will do best & give most to the world, & when I should start to do it? & and where? & who should assist me?

This may run over into a “Life Reading” too much to be answered but I am not young & do want to do my part to help the world. I’m keen to be about “my Father’s business.”! How long do you like to have a person remain in the appointed place at time of reading?

I have recently written to Mr. Salter who asked for information to help a friend’s wife & suppose you will hear soon.

Have not written my new friends as yet - but we speak of your wonderful work very often & I shall do so much more when among those who I known better in Cleveland, O.

R10. 3/26/26 EC’s letter to Mrs. [3934]:

My dear Mrs. [3934]

Replying to yours of the 23rd, we will make the appointment for your reading on the evening of the 1st, 3:00 o’clock. I certainly am in hopes that we shall be able to offer some suggestions at this time that will be helpful and beneficial. From what you tell me of your life and conditions that have arisen, I feel that I am peculiarly situated to appreciate them more than most people, for I, as a son, had this condition to combat with in my father, for thirty years. I finally succeeded, but I know such a one as yourself can only appreciate the heart aches and physical distresses that are caused by such battles. I don’t think I am boasting when I say that to-day my father depends almost entirely, for this physical health, upon the suggestions from the readings. He has recently (though he is now seventy years old) had a very bad case of the “flu” but a letter just received from him this morning says he’s almost as good as new. It may be necessary that you and Mrs. [4329] wire that these appointments be kept, so it will be possible for you to both answer in one wire.

I want to thank you very much for your kindly expressions regarding my efforts in my little booklet, for I desire to be of service to my fellowman, if possible. Mrs. Cayce and my stenographer both appreciate your thanks for their efforts, and both desire to cooperate in being of help to all whenever possible.
