This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at 1851 Columbia Road, Washington, D.C., this 10th day of April, 1935, in accordance with request made by the self - Mrs. [394], Active Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.
[Edgar Cayce; Hugh Lynn Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno.]
Time of Reading 3:30 to 3:45 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. …, Alabama. (Physical Suggestion)
-
EC: Yes, we have the body; this we have had here before, [394].
-
As we find, conditions continue to be much on the improve. However, there is a great deal of improvement to be desired in some directions, especially in those tendencies for there to be periods when the reactions to the system call for or produce an unrecorded or an overactivity through the circulation - or the palpitation of the heart, and these tendencies for the smothering spells. There is much to be desired also in the circulation through the lower limbs. But, as we find, there were such periods when the nerve ends of the BRUSH end of the cerebrospinal were so deadened; not only by the cold that was applied but by the heat or the temperature of the body pounding, as it were, the circulation against that great change in temperature and pressure. Thus in the superficial circulation there is a calling for or a producing at times, when there is not the proper elimination through the alimentary canal - or through cold or congestion, or through the excitement to the sympathetic nervous forces, of those tendencies for the accumulations and for there to appear on the hips, in the groin, along portions of the lower limbs, nodules or accumulations that make for distresses to the body - more in the imaginative or impulsive forces.
-
We would give that there be rather this as a minor change in the applications of the active forces of the battery, or the low electrical forces:
-
Instead of these to the trunk portion so much in the present, we would make the smaller attachments - well, we would change the connections, you see. On the wet cell battery change the connections, having these of a different type. Or the copper anode or plate would be attached to the 3rd dorsal plexus center, and the nickel anode (of the same size) would be attached one period to the left ankle and the next period to the right ankle - first to the left and then to the right ankle, but the same attachment of the copper plate to the dorsal area as indicated. The next day or period, in the application of same, we would make the attachments to the right wrist and the left ankle; then the next day to left wrist and the right ankle. Then the next day back to the secondary or cardiac area, as indicated. Each application would be from thirty to sixty minutes. Not using now, then, the medications as passing through same, but altering in the manner indicated.
-
We would alter the massage used as a stimulation with this alteration in the circulation, which will work together with the superficial activity as produced by something of a counter-irritation to the lumbar and sacral and the groin and the upper portions of the sciatic nerve ends, see? and extended, though, along the lower limbs even to the toes; and about once or twice a week - along the cerebrospinal system - to the brachial center and out the under portion of the arms to the fingertips, see? Such a combination for massaging would be prepared in this manner:
-
To 4 ounces of pure or virgin Olive Oil, as a basis for the properties, add - in this proportion, and in the order named:
Oil of Cedar Wood…1 ounce, Oil of Wintergreen…1 ounce, Witchhazel…1 1/2 ounces, Kerosene…1 ounce, Compound Tincture Benzoin…1/2 ounce, Oil of Sassafras…1 dram.
These to be sure, will tend to separate; but before using shake well together. Pour a small quantity in an open container and massage into the cerebrospinal area, from the lower dorsal to those areas as indicated, all the body will absorb; then the rest of the portion of the body as indicated. This we would do each day.
-
We would continue with the neuropathic adjustments and neuropathic massage, but use OIL rather than powder; that there may be the greater food value to the respiratory system. Not as to clog same, for this should be cleansed thoroughly by the tepid baths regularly. For there must be the stimulation to the superficial circulation as the stimulation has been to the deeper or internal circulation.
-
In the matter of the diet be mindful that there is a continuation of the adherence to an alkalin-reacting diet. In the general beware, for this body, of these things: Great quantities of starches. But if starch is to be taken, as with spaghetti or potatoes or breads that carry quantities of same. DO NOT take carbohydrates or sugars at the same time. Hence beware of pastries or tarts, though any of these in moderation may be AT TIMES taken, you see; but let the greater portion be of those things that are non-acid producing for the system. Strengthening foods such as beef juices, or the extracts of liver (Valentine’s is preferable), or the extracts from the caseins of the internal organs of beef or the like, these are very good in moderation for the STRENGTHENING of that tendency for the separation in the lymph circulation produced by this deadening in nerve ends in these particular areas indicated. But these should be kept in moderation. No red meat, either beef or hog meat (which isn’t natural for the body). No white breads. No apples raw; no bananas raw - either of these may be taken cooked, provided they are made with not too great a quantity of sugar. The sweetening that would be used would be preferably honey or saccharin - that may make for a variation in its reaction in the assimilations through the lacteals of the system, that have had such an ordeal - as it were - in STRAINING the vital forces from that assimilated.
-
Do this, and we will bring for this body, [394], the nearer and the nearer normal forces.
-
Ready for questions.
-
(Q) Will it be necessary to continue the use of the violet ray? (A) Not as necessary since the electrical vibrations are to be more for the superficial activity through the battery applications, but should there be the tendings for the slowing of the pulsations through the lower limbs - or the variations in the various portions of the system - it would be well to continue the violet ray, or to resume same.
-
(Q) Anything more than already suggested for the severe pains in the lower back? (A) These things suggested should overcome these entirely.
-
(Q) Any other suggestions at this time? (A) We are through with this reading.

(GD’s note: Directions were enclosed for preparing pure beef juice; also an alkalin-reacting diet list.
Letter was enclosed to be sent to The Reilly Service with directions for changing connections on the Battery. I hope this will be clear, and that the change can be made without any trouble or great delay.)
