This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 322 Grafton Avenue, Dayton, Ohio, this 18th day of October, 1924, in accordance with request made by her sister and brother-in-law, Mr. [4796] and Mrs. […].

1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly and tell me the conditions you find at the present time. You will give the cause of the existing conditions, also the treatment for the cure and relief of this body.

2. EC: Now we find the conditions in this body have reached that condition where the physical is unable to ward against the destructive forces in the body, and the force destroying the vitality of the body is beyond repair.

3. There may be accorded conditions that will ease the pains more effectively than those given.

4. Take internally these properties as one dose:

Eucalyptol…1 minim, Heroin…1/80 grain, Rectified Oil of Turp…2 minims, Canadian Balsam…1 minim.

5. This would preferably be given in capsule form. This we see would bring ease to the body, restraining conditions in heart’s action to the near condition for the body, also relieve the strain in the pulmonaries and assist in the body being able to breathe without pain.

6. Do that, for we will find the body will only last in the physical condition through the present moon.

7. (Q) How often should these capsules be given? (A) Every four hours. Then when the body needs these, but keep away when not necessary, you see.

If this had been taken sooner - when we first had conditions in the cardiac end of the stomach that brought about this - produced by poison as taken in system from a brass object, and this has produced this condition, you see.

8. We are through for the present.

Miss Davis brought me your letter, regarding the reading for your sister-in-law. This morning was our first opportunity to do this and I’m enclosing you a copy of what was gotten.

This, as you will see, does not offer the hope for the cure of the body, as the condition seems to have reached such a stage where it is practically hopeless. There is suggested some properties that would relieve the suffering and I believe it would be well if you would have this given to her. I only wish that it could have been possible for me to have attempted this for you a long time ago. Seemingly, then, there might have been some chance.

I remember you quite well and I wish I might have an opportunity to talk over these matters with you. I’m very sorry indeed that it’s not possible for me to have offered some suggestion at this time that would have been more helpful than this promises.

As to remuneration, of course, you understand I’m giving my whole time to this at this time. Under the conditions, I’ll leave it entirely with you as to what you would contribute to the work.

Would thank you very much to let me hear from you and to know what the results are if these properties are used. I know that there was a physician in Birmingham that used something similar to this, perhaps under similar conditions, with excellent results so far as the physical ailments were concerned, but of course not as a cure.

My Dear Mr. Cayce, I am sorry to inform you that my sister-in-law which you had a reading made for, died on the 1st of November. It happened as you predicted, of course. I can not ask them to contribute anything for your work, as you know it is always the same case in such matters, but I am willingly to make good and would like to know what is your charges. I also would be pleased to know if you can give me a reading regarding my own health, also if possible some business advice.

Dear Mr. [4796]

Have yours of the 6th. Am sorry indeed to know of your sister-in-law’s death but from the information as gotten in the reading, of course, I was not surprised. I was in hopes, however, from the information gotten, that they would be able to use some part of it and at least make her suffering lighter. As to the remuneration for that one, I will leave this entirely with you. While, as you understand, I give my entire time to this work, yet I am leaving it with the conscience of those whom I try to help, as to what they would contribute to same.

As for yourself, I shall be very glad to undertake a reading for you, and am enclosing you a card, which you will please sign and return if this date and hour is satisfactory with you. You will please give your full name instead of initial and just where you will be on the day and hour set, which is Monday, November 17th, at 11:00 A.M.

As for the business reading, it would depend entirely upon the character of same as to whether or not I could give it. If you will make a list of questions that you would like to ask in this, I shall be glad to let you know at what time I can take these, if at all. Of course, they could not be taken with a physical reading.

I have heard about your good doings to save humans from suffering. My sister-in-law who lives in now Baltimore is severely sick and I will appreciate to have your reading and if anything can help that poor woman would be the greatest achievement toward humanity, the cause is very great and as a Selma citizen and friend I wish for you to do the best what you can.
